Maya Mexican restaurant

During my road-trip, stumbled upon this restaurant, and it’s a solid place at a reasonable price. You get what you expect. We ordered all sorts of dips with our chips and I kept reaching out to guacamole over other dips. I ordered chicken fajita and it was good. The bathrooms were clean. There’re plenty of parking spaces outside in the parking lot shared with other businesses. I also grabbed a boba tea next door after I was done with my lunch. Staff was efficient.

Reasonable price food! I got the taco salad (chicken) with guacamole. The homemade guacamole was delicious, and the chicken was flavorful and served at a great temperature. If you like mangonadas, this is the drink for you. The hostess, waiter, and waitress are phenomenal.

Just wanted a snack for dinner and ordered their chori fries…I wouldn’t have served this to a dog. Presentation was less than appetizing. Literally just thrown together. No way I would have served this to a customer. Will not be revisiting.
UPDATE: I took the manager’s advice and looked up chori fries on google and I stand by my initial review. What they served based on what other chori fries looks like was trash, period!! Maya’s is the first pic, the last 3 pics are from google. Not the same! Maya’s fries were greasy, had a tablespoon of cheese that was on one side of the pan, and stuck to the pan, not on the fries AT ALL! And it looks like they just threw some chorizo on top. PICTURES DON’T LIE! RIDICULOUS!!!

The food is by far the worst Mexican food I’ve ever eaten. Chips are cheap, salsa is no more than spiced up tomato sauce, food is spiced up with same salsa that they serve with chips. And the rice isn’t worth putting a fork into! How can they mess up rice?! I miss DelToro.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. I don't understand the other reviews. My son and I went for an early (5-ish) dinner and the food was just bad. I've had great Mexican food around and some that was good, but this place is actively terrible. The chips were so stale, that we asked for another basket. Out came another basket of stale chips that were just a little warmer. It was obvious that they were from lunch. Salsa tasted like some kind of weirdly spiced ketchup. Rice and beans were good. We both ordered quesadillas, and they were terrible. Very skimpy on meat. Mind was fajita style chicken, but it should have been called onion quesadilla. I poked around and found a few greasy, fatty pieces of chicken. My son's shrimp quesadilla had 4 medium sized shrimp. Four. His and mine were very oily. I don't see how they stay open with so many good places around. We were Del Toro regulars and miss it. Neither of us will ever be back at Maya. You have to pass by too many really good Mexican places to waste time and money there.

All I got to say is wow! Wasn't expecting the bag of chips and salsa that lunch special enchilada with a side of two tamales got to say coming from California( half the family is from Mexico ) this place is authentic Mexican food the tamales remind me of those my aunt made the enchiladas the best I've had here. this is definitely a go-to restaurant if you want well packaged tasty flavorful Mexican food and best of all not wallet busting you guys hit all the bases totally unexpected on this first time order from GrubHub don't change keep doing it I have over 50 years experience in food service you guys are really doing a good job going to have to try more items but this lunch special of 2 enchiladas rice and beans well worth the price

I get lunch nearly every Sunday after church. Great people and service. Try the Chimichanga with shredded beef (like pot roast). I also like the Jaguar Burrito with steak and chicken.

Food was bland and not very good. The rice tasted like it came straight from a box, was undercooked and crunchy. Enchilada sauce tasted like brown gravy with a little hot sauce added to make it seem like it was Mexican. Server was friendly but once the food came, she was rarely seen. We had to ask another server for refills on drinks. Food was pretty cheap, but not worth the visit back.

In a party of 25 often the service will be expectedly slower or just less but not here. The food was great, quick and polite service and just a great experience. Everyone said their margaritas were great, I wasn't drinking. Just give them a try, the salsa is great not hot but just spicy enough

I basically never take photos of food but the homemade guacamole was so good it was photo worthy.
The prices are pretty good, they give you a side of guacamole and sour cream with chimichanga. If you don't like this place you won't like any Mexican restaurant.

I have been coming here since it was originally Del Toro years ago and Maya definitely stepped up to the plate and crushed my expectations! Their chips salsa is always fresh. The queso will leave you speechless. The tacos, enchiladas, and burritos are amazing! It’s all I get there, but I’m sure everything else is good considering no one talks once the food comes. Just faces being stuffed full and wash it all down with their perfected margaritas of different varieties. Amazing employees who are constantly checking on you and are eager to help.

A few months back this would have been a 5 as it was a favorite. We were a regular every week, often twice a week, doordash customer. Not anymore. Food comes overcooked and dried out from being put in the oven to melt the cheese and apparently forgotten. and now, on doordash, they don't allow you to request special instructions like "no cheese" and that's a dealbreaker for my daughter.

We eat hear in a regular basis but after today probably won’t be back. Service was bad took my drink back because my cup had a hole in the bottom waited for my drink had to ask for it. Then ask for to go plates when they were brought out the had some black gooey stuff all over them. Had to go and get more plates. We always order the same thing but this time the price doubled. I tried to explain I felt like I was over charged but couldn’t get anyone to understand English!

We have grown to love this local restaurant, but tonight they wanted to argue with me over a cup of pico. I specifically told the young lady that I did not get the pico with #68 (which clearly states it comes with it). She told me it comes on the dish and I told her that I did not get it. They wanted to argue with me over a cup of pico that costs $1.00. So, I left without getting the pico even though I was supposed to get it! As you can see in the picture, it does NOT have pico on the side or in the tacos!

Good thing is it wasn't terrible! I had a chorizo and egg burrito that was very overcooked. My wife had a steak quesadilla that was pretty good except it should have been called a pepper and onion quesadilla with a little beef. Chips and salsa were good just above normal on the spicy level. Service was excellent. Price was normal.

We usually hit Maya Sundays after church. The staff is so friendly. Food is always good and comes out quickly. I usually eat vegetarian at Mexican places and it has always been good here. I got the Tacos al Carbon Sunday and they were good enough to compel me to write a review. It could use a little sprucing up with its outside signage. You can still read the Del Toro that was the previous restaurant in that spot. But this place is better than Del Toro was and that was my go-to spot for years. Definitely worth a try.

I have been a long time customer of Maya's and up to now they have been very good. If fact I have previously left a great review. Today I ordered online for pick-up. When I got home 2 of the 3 entrees ordered had missing items. Also in the past I have always received a large portion of chips with my order. Today 1/2 bag. I called and spoke with the manager told him what the problem was and that I didn't want to drive all the way back just to pick up the missing items but wanted a credit. He got an attitude with me and said I would have to come in anyway to get the credit (which I know to be untrue as I have had merchants give me credit to my card over the phone in the past). Well he just lost himself a repeat customer many times over as well as anyone else I can convince not to order there.

We came in with a large group of around 25 people total at around 8:30pm and they handled us very well.... Service was good... Our waiter got our orders pretty quick and the kitchen got it out reasonably fast given our party size... Prices are average... Food was good... We will definitely consider them in the future!

Friendly service, loved our waitress. The food is awesome, I really enjoyed my burrito poblano. My wife had chicken enchiladas and I couldn't help but pick at hers but I shared as well. We had 2 cheladas, Wich where so good and in a huge mug. All in all I definitely recommend this place to everyone that enjoys a good meal and drink.

Ate here recently with my wife. Her burito was stone cold when brought to the table. My tacos al carbon tasted like salt. Wife’s margarita tasted like limeade. I don't understand all the stellar reviews for this establishment but each to their own. We will not be back.

The first time I came here I didn't love what I ordered. Gave it a second try and really liked the fajita burrito. That's not what it's called, but it is essentially fajita fixings in a burrito smothered with queso. Very tasty. My wife and daughter also realled liked their fajitas, having the triple, chicken, beef, and shrimp. Overall, we enjoyed it. Reasonable price, nice place, tasty fajita fixings, attentive service.

I normally do not leave bad reviews. However, food was mediocre. Recommend paying in cash. I paid my bill with a cc but left a cash tip. They charged an additional $4. Not worth fighting over, but still think it is worth $4 of bad publicity.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. We went at the insistence of our 11 year old granddaughter, who had visited many times before with our son. Our lunches consisted of 1) chalupa with side of rice and beans, 2) Mexican chicken salad, and 3) vegetarian Quesadilla's. The food was inexpensive, well prepared and the service was excellent (even entertaining). Having said that, I cannot understand why the place was practically empty for lunch. I hope this was just a fluke related to a new Mexican restaurant opening nearby. I believe this place deserves a chance, especially if you don't enjoy dining in a packed restaurant during these pandemic times and in a state that is around 35% inoculated.
