Pictured is the cheesy Fiesta fajitas. Which also was amazing.
Decore inside is far better than the outside of the restaurant. Staff are friendly and super efficient.
The free salsa tastes like spicy marinara. Did not like that.

Chicken tacos were good.

Unique rice had carrots, peas, and I'm assuming it was a green bean or two.

The salsa was really good.

The cashier/waitress was new and spoke very little English but she did her best with the language barrier.

The best Mexican restraunt! The food, service, and prices were all top notch! Everyone was friendly and the servers stopped by often to refill your drink and to check on you. I will definitely be going back as well as taking others with me. Truly amazing experience! Everyone goes above Nd beyond! The owners show that they really care!

Had a fantastic meal at Mar Y Tierra on our first visit!

Small, out of the way dining with wonderful atmosphere and the staff made sure we were always taken care of.

My son and I got the shrimp boil with crab legs and there is enough for 2 people on each serving. (Pictured) My wife had the tropical chicken fajitas and loved them.

No alcohol as of May 14th but they said that was coming in a couple of weeks. Met the owners and talked for 30 minutes or so, great people.

Very good and really big menu.
You can get all kinds of seafood here too, like a shrimp boil with crab legs. They have molcajetes and different kinds of tacos, wings, fish. It was really good!

This place has a great atmosphere! Staff is super sweet/efficient and owners are very down to earth. Also big shout out to the cookers, their food is amazing. I get a little overwhelmed looking at their menu it’s hard to choose only one plate, everything looks soo good. They have a variety of options for any preference and prices are very reasonable.

We visited Mar Y Tierra Mexican Restaurant for dinner the other night and it did not disappoint! We had the La Mariscada Fresca, which included a sample of their ceviches, oysters, & scallops + Shrimp Boil add Crab Legs 😍 We will definitely be back to try more amazing authentic dishes!

So went to dinner with my family really enjoyed the food. To bad the charge you different prices then they do on there menu. They over charged me by $25.00. When I called them they came up with some b.s. excuse. That they haven't changed the menus yet. So needless to say there goes another restaurant I won't give my business to. Really quite a shame. And I forgot they didn't have half the stuff we wanted. No nachos because they didn't have chips, no desserts because the cook left early.

I really hate dropping a bad review but this was not a good experience. We've been here before, a year+ ago and it was good. 3 of us were promptly seated. It was between lunch and dinner and was not busy. We got drinks, order taken and appetizer. Then it begins..we wait probably 25-30 minutes before my plate comes out and was wrong but I kept it. We were thinking the other 2 plates would be shortly behind. The table of 2 across from us was served even though they came in after us. We sat another 15-20 minutes waiting on our other 2 plates. The server never 1 time came back to our table after bringing the 1st plate. No explanation of where the rest of our food was..no drink refills if needed...nothing. We got up to leave and was told the cook was not back there. The only reason they get a 2star is because she was very nice and the portion size of the 1 plate was very large but the taste missed the mark. Where was management? Maybe they were the cook that left lol. We paid for the cheese dip and drinks and never will return or recommend.

Last year I ate here and my friend ordered tacos de asada, the meat stank like dirty rag or something. I did a doordash delivery here a day ago and they "forgot" a whole plate of the order. Every time I do a doodash From here they forget something and always say "I called the customer and told them we don't have a certain item" and whenever I deliver the food they never called the customer.

We had the lunch buffet. We were there at about 12:30 so the food should have been fresh, but it didn’t seem like it. The food on the buffet was dry and not much taste. The steak strips on the buffet were tuff. Over all i would not recommend the lunch buffet. Haven’t tried the menu. Probably wont go back.

Took aver an hour to get the food. Food was not correct. Watered down queso, and absolutely zero customer service. Took another 30 minutes to get a the check, and was charged for things we didn't get. Definitely do not recommend here.

First time ever visiting this place. It was slow Friday night, likely due to local high school football games. This made it easy and fast to get in and get food. We had good margaritas and the food was tasty. My wife and had a Chili Relleno each, and shared the Mushroom Steak. The chili relleno was stuffed with ground beef and cheese. The steak was a pretty thin Ribeye (this is my only critique, that I think could have been better). I would have liked to see a better size piece of steak for the price. But the flavor of the mushrooms and onions with the cheese and gravy was very tasty. Overall the meal was good and we will visit again.

Beautifully decorated all the wall paintings were immaculate props to the artist they did an incredible job. We got the buffet and everything was delicious I loved building my own taco bowl and the enchiladas. Definitely recommend, Definitely will go again!

I have been eating here since it opened! & all my meals have been delicious and well prepared!
The owner and all the waitress have always treated us with respect and much attention. It’s one of the best Mexican restaurants to eat at with family! I recommend it to anyone who is looking for some real authentic Mexican food and a great service :)

Food was good,that was it. Our waitresses refused to even look our way. She visited another table 8 times and never checked on us. We had to get up and ask for refills. The music was blaring also. I never leave reviews but this was the worst service I think I've ever had.

Food was okay, but I ordered a margarita and when the RUDE waitress brought it to my table it was brown, dark brown in color. It tasted like Crown Royal mixed with really cheap margarita mix. I told the waitress it was NASTY and ordered a beer. I never asked for a refund or requested that they don't charge me. So, when she brought me my order she threw the plates down on the table. We will NOT be going back here and I don't see this place being open long, especially with the rude people and horrible drinks. Nasty!

The man who waited on us noticed i had hurt knee switched us to a more comfortable chair at the bar, he checked on us making sure we were happy with our food and drinks. Very friendly and of course the street tacos were absolutely delicious, the hot sauce was hot not mild and above all this is the best Mexican food place we have tried and the most authentic.
Definitely will be a return customer.

Found this place by looking at the great reviews and they were spot on. The food and service is outstanding. They have an extensive menu which is nice to have other options rather than just the normal "tex mex". You better come hungry because the portions are huge. Our server had such a great personality as well.Even being from Birmingham, we'll return. It's worth it.

. Tuvimos un percance con la comida de una persona de nuestra mesa... pidió una mojarra y cuando llego a la mesa la mojarra se veía casi sin carne fue lo primero que vimos y después o sorpresa estaba llena de Escamas como piensan que alguien se va a comer eso, los cocineros la frieron y condimentaron así eso quiere decir que no saben sobre mariscos porque gente realmente habían quizá 20 o menos asi que no pueden decir no nos dimos cuenta porque estaba lleno y teniamos muchas prdenes verdad. ,bueno después de eso la mesera al llevar los platillos creo también debe fijarse en que los alimentos estén bien ya que prácticamente ella tiene que dar la cara si algo no está bien, al llamarla y decirle que la mojarra estaba llena de escamas solo se llevó la mojarra y dejó el plato con arroz y ensalada a la persona cuando debía haber retirado todo el plato ya que en el arroz y ensalada igual habían caído escamas. y si pregunto si le preparaba algo más que serian unos 20 minutos más mientras todos los demás hubiéramos terminado así que la persona decidió que no querría nada más aparte de la mala experiencia. De los demás platillos la verdad todo estuvo bien los camarones momia excelentes y cada uno de los otros platillos que consumimos. Esta fue nuestra primera vez en este restaurant y pensaremos 2 veces antes de volver o recomendar el lugar porque es una mala experiencia esperar comer algo y salir de el lugar con una experiencia así es para pensar si regresar o ya no.

The buffet was decent... standard Americanized Mexican food. Well stocked on Sunday at noon. The buffet is a bit awkward and hard to navigate if it's busy as it has a dead end on one side. I will try items from the menu next time as some of that looked really good.

If you are looking for the best Mexican food in the greater guntersville area this is it! We go almost twice a week now. The food is authentic. The carnitas and pastor is delicious. Wife loved the Carne Assada and the beans that were served with it were special. Owners and servers do a great job to take good care of you. Please try for yourself.

Food was typical/very salty table beside us said the same! The buffet wasn’t stocked like in the pictures they post online. Our waitress never even came back to offer us refills or napkins or even gave us straws we didn’t see her until she gave us the check. And as soon as we were checking out we left the tip on the receipt and the lady checking out said that’s all did they even leave anything on the table we weren’t even out the door before she said that rude comment! Why would we even leave a big tip for service that we didn’t even get? Will never be going back!

We celebrated my sons 9th birthday here and everything was AWESOME!! We had a large party and they took care of us in a timely manner! The staff is amazing and the food is even better! Salsa is good. That is all we had the privilege of eating after waiting almost an hour. They decided to wait on a large party before us even though we had ordered before them. Would not recommend this place 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎. There are many more deserving Mexican restaurants than this one.

Daughter and I had lunch here, the buffet was the best looking Mexican buffet! The owner at the desk was so nice, our server was wonderful. The gentle man at the front said the remodel of the bar area should be finished soon.

This was my first time eating at this establishment and I hate to say it but I was not great the chips tasted like cleaning supplies and were given the wrong food for my son and they didn’t even realize the mistake until we were done eating the salsa was bland the restroom was not very sanitary there was dried urine all over the toilet seat and lid and this was both a mens and womens restroom me and my family will not be returning

AMAZING!!!! I honestly ate until I felt nauseous. I have no regrets. The service was great (very sweet) waiting time was normal; the food and its price is astonishing. I ordered Mojara a la Plancha (griddled fish?) omg…the fish was juicy the; rice was soft and full of flavor and the fries …amazing what can I tell you. I can go on and on. I even got orange slices on my plate and it made the plating pretty :D. Needless to say I will be going back asap.

I only wish the best for this small business and I absolutely recommend for you to check it out.

Food is great. The service is good as well. However, the waitress I had never came back to me once she took me to my table. I even had to get up and pay without a ticket because she just never came back. I would recommend talking to employees about making comments in front of customers. I don’t tip if I don’t have good service. Don’t talk about customer being greedy for not leaving tip. Instead ask your self what you didn’t do. I will be going back of course because not every waitress is the same. And the food was great.
