My wife and I truly enjoyed our experience at Besitos! We were greeted and welcomed immediately. Our waitress was the most helpful and sweetest woman we could ask to serve us. The food was wonderful! The chips and salsa were delicious. My fajita bowl was so good. I asked for peppers on the side because I typically don't eat them unless they are fresh. They were fresh and seasoned and sauteed perfectly. My fajita bowl was on a plate.

I recommend trying Besitos! You will not be disappointed!

Great food, but too few servers. Waited over an hour for entree at lunch hour—granted it was a Monday and almost no lunch-places are open on Monday in Anniston—but the staff was completely overrun. Had to get it to-go. Staff friendly and apologetic, but I won’t plan on a fast lunch there soon!

Gnats buzzing everywhere. Assume it is bc of all the live plants. Plants are hanging at the top of the wall about 14 feet maybe — many look dead Not watering I guess. Would definitely need a ladder to get to them.
Service was poor. She didn’t bring our cheese dip and we ordered. She didn’t ask during the meal if we needed more coke.
My fajita was only chicken and rice. No tortilla shells (I had to ask for them). No guacamole. No beans.
Won’t be back.

First I tried calling in which I never got an answer. I then go to the restaurant to place a to go order only for them to say the internet is down and they can only take cash. I have to leave to go get cash to actually be able to pay for my order. At almost an hour later, I finally get my food, in which the Taco Salad Fajita Bowl does not justice for what you actually think you are ordering, There was hardly anything to actually fill up the bowl to eat, the service wasn't excellent and the atmosphere was not the best. For each order placed I did not get the proper essentials, as well as no items to eat with. I am highly disappointed and will not return, for as long as I had to wait and the actual service and food given the price should have been reduced or even refunded.

Best Mexican restaurant in the area! This place is a hidden gem in the city of Anniston. The food is amazing and the staff is always super friendly and helpful. I can’t recommend this place enough! Also, the owners are some of the most genuine and friendly people you’ll ever meet! You’ll often find them in the restaurant cooking food or running food to tables etc. If you find yourself hungry and near Anniston make sure to stop in here!

Delicious food and great atmosphere. It's been a long time since I have had mexican this good! Good was hot and fast with great friendly and knowledgeable service from Rhiannon. The menu has a wide selection and in my opinion more traditional and authentic than most restaurants. They go the extra mile and choose not to cut corners on every dish I saw.

The food wasn't all that great for being a newly opened restaurant. 🙄 Also, the waitress was not on top of things. The price was way too high for such a mediocre meal. We went for a birthday and were not impressed. Also, when we told them it was for a birthday, they didn't offer anything, sing happy birthday, or even address the birthday girl in a friendly manner. We won't be going back. 😐

Excellent salsa, and that's about it. The arched entrance to the restaurant is lovely with a stained glass door, yet inside the tables and chairs look secondhand and are worn. Plants with the price tag still on the pots line shelves above the tables. A roller blind was hanging broken above the front window. The utensils were about as cheap as you can buy and uncomfortably sharp on the edges (bring your own). Beverages are served in plastic Coke-branded glasses. The chips were good, but could have benefitted from being warmed. The chile relleno had a great flavor but was served lukewarm. Other dishes, such as the enchilada and tacos, were typical. Service, however, was quick and friendly. I'm uncertain about visiting again, especially since the prices are more in line with an upscale restaurant. If the owners could try just a bit harder, this has the potential to be a local gem.

Hands down the absolute best Mexican food I've ever had! We'll definitely be coming back. Try the Tampiquena, it is amazing but trust me when I say you need to bring your appetite, I could barely eat half! My daughter had the Pollo Con Mole and loved it, but like me, she could only eat about half. Their portions are VERY generous!
Update 8/9/23: My daughter had the Pollo Con Mole again, I tried the Pollo Con Vegetables. Both were awesome. Their guacamole is very good! We had an amazing server who was very attentive but not smothering. We even met the chef and discussed their wonderful mole sauce that is made in-house from a family recipe. We highly, highly recommend Besitos! Update 10/10/23: Still the best Mexican food around, never been disappointed with their authentic Mexican food.

We have eaten here several times, both for lunch and dinner, and everything has always been great. If I had a name, a favorite, it would be the enchiladas mole, which is a very complex, rich sauce. Exactly the way it should taste.

The menu is not huge, which means they can focus on doing what they do very well. Portions are quite generous, and prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. Would highly recommend. And the margaritas are pretty good too.

I had lunch at Benito's Mexican Kitchen while on business in the area. I love small downtowns and was excited to try the restaurant. (On a side note, the downtown needs a little work, but has so much potential!)

Vibe: The restaurant is comfortable, it's open and airy with high ceilings, and there are lots of plants which add some warmth. I think the restaurant, like downtown has alot of potential from a design and decor standpoint as it's a bit cavernous and overall it's empty. It was busy, which added to the vibe. I also noticed there wasn't a sign in front on the street, but there was one at the back entrance.

Food: The Chips & Salsa were good - nothing extraordinary - but fresh. I had the lunch combination with two items. For my combo I had the Chile Relleno (an extra $2 charge) and the Jalapeño Tamale. The Chile Relleno had good flavor and was well prepared. I was a little disappointed with the Tamale - mainly due to the fact that it wasn't as light and fluffy as I like, it was a bit dense and hard. They also used a firmer cheese - I think perhaps Panela - which wasn't my favorite as I would have liked a cheese with a little melt. The jalapeños were fresh and added a good flavor. I had the Black Beans (as they are made without meat) which had good flavor. The Mexican Rice - well, let's just say I wish I could get a great rice at a Mexican restaurant - it was what we have come to expect and not great in my opinion. For beverages, I wish they had a broader selection of Jarritos - they only had two flavors - but I was ok with the Lime.

Service: It was very attentive, super friendly and knowledgeable. Everything you hope for.

If you are in Anniston, it's certainly worth the try.

Besitos is our only go to place in Anniston for Mexican cuisine. The food is always so good! They never skip a beat. They always serve the freshest greens, guac, and pico de gallo and the meat is always the best quality. Their ground beef is not the mushy kind you find at other local (I won’t name them!) Mexican restaurants, and their chicken is perfect. Cheers and congratulations to Besitos! Thank you for choosing to Anniston!

Review №78

Excellent food. A little more costly than other Mexican restaurants which is ok because you pay for what you get. The cheese dip is really good and thick but comes with Jalapenos that make it spicy ( I'm sure you could ask for them on the side). The water here needs to be filtered it has a strong chlorine smell and taste. I do wish they offered a texas style margarita. The house margarita here is very weak and consist mostly of just mix.

This was a wonderful experience all the way around. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

Phenominal! Bite after bite, the food held up. Tremendous flavor. Presentation, atmosphere and service were impecable. They ARE authentic! Carne asada, al pastor, tortas, pozole, tortilla soup, amazing salads, empanadas, street tacos, on and on... Two drawbacks: I wasn't crazy about the horchata; it resembled the drink, but it was a bit off. Maybe more condensed milk. Also, they offer cilantro rice, which sounds awesome, but turned out bland. Recommend more cilantro, a lot more, and lime juice.

Update:

Two days later, we went back. Isabelle is a gem of a waitress. She loves and believes in her restaurant. She, too, is amazed by the flavorful food. Like most Southerners, she hadn't experienced AUTHENTIC mexican flavor and has been blown away to the point that she's a believer, and she wants others to see what they have been missing!

I've now been twice, and I'm going again tonight. I've tried 10 dishes, and all were 5 stars except the cilantro rice and based on my previous comment, they're improving it. As for the horchata, they have that fixed as well. It tastes now like authentic horchata. As for my #1 recommendation, get the grilled vegetables. Everyone I've taken are astounded by the flavor of that side dish. As for my #2: everything else. I'm so confident by what and how much that I've tasted, that I'd recommend anything that they serve.

Ask for a salsa sample. All are extremely delicious and deversified. The habenaro sauce is very hot, good, but the others are more flavorful. Sausa de amor (sauce of love) is not hot at all, but incredible and everyone's favorite.

As for a helpful critique, I'd ask customers if they prefer grilled and sliced jalapenos or pickled jalapenos. I have only been served pickled, but grilled are so much better, yet not everyone can handle the heat of a fresh pepper.

In only my second visit, they rate 5 stars, and if you've been following me, few restaurants rate 5 stars by me. This restaurant has blown my socks off.
