Worse place to go when starting a diet though. Gotta eat chips and salsa. Lol. I ordered the Texas fajita for one ate 2 of the three tortillas. Got just the salad without the beans and rice. It was a true masterpiece. The cook done beautifully .

Absolutely ❤️ love this place, I love the owner. He's very attentive and he's always busy. The staff is fun and friendly. When I say fun they're comfortable and relaxed and they bring you what you want and they also ask you if you need anything else.

My drink was never empty, ate food slowly, and truly enjoyed the flavor, and I like to go there often. I would recommend this place very much.

I guess the air doesn't work that well because they have fans running all over the place. Hard to hear over all the noise they make. I ordered the Texas salad, it was okay, but when I got home, my stomach was really bothering me. The restaurant has chairs with the foam cushions all torn up. The woman's bathroom toilet is about to fall through the floor. No towels to dry your hands. I certainly wouldn't eat there. It's just not kept up and clean.

Been there twice. First time I ordered a chicken burrito and got an enchilada that was horribly bland. Second trip I sat for 20 minutes and they didn't even take a drink order. 4 tables total, 2 were already served when we got there. Normally I give a place 3 chances but 2 was enough here. Walked out on 2nd trip.

Worst ever Mexican food. Waitress was not good at all. She had no customer service skills. They did come over and sing Happy Birthday to me which was a nice gesture. Will never go back

OMG! This place was SO HOT! First time here so can't say if this is the norm or not, but damn! A/C was hopefully struggling as opposed to being like that all the time. Don't know.
For the middle of Clay County, Alabama, this place is fine. Comparing to other Mexican restaurants in the broad general area that we normally eat at......well..... this one is really lacking. Margaritas? Aah... Salsa? Ok.. not great. Food? Very edible but nothing exciting. If you're near to Alex City or Talladega, La Posada is a much better choice. We've been eating at the Alex City location for years and they ALWAYS come through!

Coming from Covington,GA I didn't expect much considering its in the middle of no where an me being Mexican. In the last week I've gone twice. It's not tex-mex of course. I'll definitely be back tho since I'm moving out here in the area. Best place I've found so far.

This was our first visit. Great food and very good service. One of the few Mexican restaurants that made my favorite which is scrambled eggs with chorizo. We will go back.

Service was good but the food lacked any semblance of seasoning. I'm not sure how you can make Steak Fajitas and Texas Taco Salad completely tasteless. Overpriced... especially considering my taco salad was inedible.

We came through Ashland going home to the GA/AL line from a Jeep Ride in Talladega National Forest and glad we stopped. Plenty of food at a great price and we brought alot of left overs home. We love the open floor plan and plenty of large tables for big groups. We normally have about 20 jeeps on the rides and this place can accommodate our groups. 5*'s

OK for Clay County. Poor Ashland needs a decent restaurant, Pizza Shack is the best. It is reasonable and the portions are large. The people are nice.

I was in Ashland for training with coworkers and we worked up an appetite. Monte Alban 2 was the perfect place to sit and eat. The food was good, but the staff was so polite. I know where I'm eating next time I'm up that way!

Always have a good experience here. I usually get the chicken fajitas (for one, but could probably feed 2-3 people.) Everything we've eaten here has been good, and the staff is so nice. It's what you'd expect at a good Mexican restaurant.

Amazing food & super nice staff. We went Glamping at Hidden Creek Farms and we found this amazing restaurant. I got street steak tacos and my husband got steak chimichanga; both were amazing! Rice & beans are delicious.

The reason for this 3 was a split between the five for me and the one for my husband. The food was delicious, the service very pleasant, and the restaurant did a nice job with social distancing. However, and this is a huge however, there is a definite health risk in eating here if you have Celiac. You might want to skip this place because even after asking if the enchilada was made with a corn tortilla or a flour tortilla, an important distinction since my husband has Celiac disease (an extreme sensitivity to anything containing gluten, such as flour tortillas), he was told "corn tortilla" (safe because it does not contain gluten) yet he was served an enchilada made with a flour tortilla, which caused 48 hours of utter misery due to the autoimmune reaction celiacs have from accidentally eating anything that contains flour or other gluten. The restaurant definitely needs to train its cooks and servers more thoroughly on food allergens and the abject misery a "glutening" causes.

I always love going to Monte Alban. The food is always good, there is a large selection and it is reasonably priced. The service is exceptional. Attalina and Erica are great waitresses! If you're in town, give them a try.

This is a great place to eat in town, they have a very wide variety of choices, my favorite is the #10 special add a beef enchilada!! Staff is great almost always! Prices and portions are decent! Also one of the only places you can have a beer with your meal.

This is to the one in Ashland. (Yes I know they are owned by the same person)

I called mine and my husband lunch in around 5:30 and told them our lunch is at 7 he ordered the Fireman special and I got a large cheese dip , hard taco , rice and fries and 2 large teas! I didn’t get my food other than the rice and fries and they where cold and my husbands food also I had to wait till 7:20 to even get my food!!!
