My girlfriend and i came in after visiting the Falls. Great experience. We both had street tacos and they were some of the best we have ever had. Cheese dip was so so good. Margs were a little weak alcohol wise but had good flavor. Our server was super efficient and had a great attitude. We will def be back next time we are in town!

Awesome service!!! Our favorite place to get this type of food at the moment. Great food and large portions at very reasonable prices. Beats Old Mexico and Villa Fiesta by miles!!

Also, anything you get from here, always get extra cheese dip, you won't regret it!!!

Great location. Always cleans. The staff is friendly and polite. The menu is extensive and full of authentic Mexican dishes. I had the steak fajita nachos and they were fantastic! Lots of tender steak, bell peppers and onions over tortilla chips covered in nacho cheese. Excellent choice. You can’t go wrong with anything you order off of the menu. You will never get cold food, it will be piping hot and fresh in less than ten minutes if the place isn’t packed out. Great service.

This is a great restaurant! The service was very prompt, our waiter was amazing and the restaurant is very clean! The menu has so many options to choose from, a "must go" place for us now.

Fantastic and authentic Mexican cuisine! What else can I say, takes me back to childhood in Brownsville, TX.

Staff was also amazing! Helpful, happy, and definitely a nice change of pace to the staff at other restaurants in the state I've been eating the last couple weeks.

Might go back tomorrow for dinner too.

This place is great! Food was served piping hot and the service was fantastic. My husband and I ate for 32.00 without tip and even had leftovers to take home. He ordered the Fajitas Hawaiian and I ordered a combo with a taco and enchilada. The menu is huge. No complaints!

Great location. Always clean. The staff is friendly and polite. The menu is extensive and full of authentic Mexican dishes.
The Steak Fajita Nachos are fantastic! Lots of tender steak, bell peppers and onions over tortilla chips covered in nacho cheese.
The Steak Fajita Burrito is an excellently choose, a very generous portion of seasoned tender sliced steak wrapped in a large burrito covered in white cheese. The tomatillo sauce adds a little spice.
You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. You will never get cold food, it will always be piping hot and fresh. Great food, great service.

It's fine. My kid likes the grilled chicken, so we come here often. I haven't really found anything on the men that isn't just better somewhere else, and I've tried a lot of the options.

Good food. Good prices. Good service. Fiesta fajitas w/chicken, steak, and shrimp. Less than 10 bucks. The catch is super thin cuts of meat but you get all the fixings: rice, refried beans, guac, etc so super delicious and very filling.
Update 4/24 12 bucks now, but still good!

El patron has been a staple in my familys choice for dinner for years . Always and i mean always on point . Out of the years i been eating there they messed up one order and it was really a miscommunication between my wife and the restaurant so really it was our own fault .

They overcharge every time I try and give them a chance. Today a half order of nacho supreme, pico, a side of shrimp, and 1 drink was over $40 and they would not explain why or fix the issue. Very disappointed because it used to be our go to place.

I really do enjoy the chicken fajita bowls.. but I have to say their pina coladas are some of the best I've ever, always fresh, me and my husband go to eat and drink here several times a month. Love this place....🧉💕

The rice was uncooked the fish and the shrimp were salty.the tortillas were uncooked they looked like they were thrown in the microwave.but on the other hand the service was good.

Definitely will be back. We will either eat on the patio or get the food to-go though. When you first walk in, the place smells oddly like a nursing home. It seems very clean though. Aside from that though, the food is fantastic and the margaritas are the best in town! The staff is prompt and very kind.

We had fajitas fiesta. Lots of chicken, steak, and shrimp. Sauce and spices were perfect but a bit dry. Good sides of beans and rice. Nice margarita and reasonable price. Recommend.

Ordered a Fajita Taco Salad, ingredients were good but it had over one inch of water or something in the bottom, good thing the shell came on a plate because it was leaking right through it, and the waiter only offered us a tea refill when we asked for the check. Absolutely the worst food & service we have had from this restaurant, I would have went to Taco Bell if I wanted bad food and service.

I am soooo glad we found this gem! We are building a house on the lake not too far from here and I am so glad we now have a place that has actual Mexican food!!

I was actually trying to find my way into Old Mexico Cantina (after seeing signs on I-59) and stumbled upon El Patron by accident.

While the salsa was just okay, the chips were hot and salted perfectly. I added a little Tapatio (on every table) and we were good to go.

Not having ever been to the restaurant previously, I opted for the completely non-authentic, but very hard to screw up, "nachos surpremos." Two words: absolutely delicious. I have had a lot of nachos at a lot of places over the years, and can't think of a single one which was better than what I had at El Patron. Seriously,

Although I don't live in the Gadsden area, I do go up and down I-59 with some regularity, and will definitely be back.

Oh yeah, the service was perfectly fine and friendly.

I've been going here since it was Los Arcos before it was sold to El Patron. Best Mexican restaurant in town & around! Service is always friendly & speedy. The staff puts love into their food and service with the Hispanic culture. It's heartwarming to see. Hard work pays off, the food is amazing. I have never had a bad experience with the service or food. No matter where I eat Mexican food, El Patron is always at the top of the list! This is the go to Mexican restaurant by a long shot. Don't take my review for it, try El Patron for yourself! You won't be disappointed!

If you call this Mexican food, then I guess you don't really know real Mexican food. The service was good, the food came out within 5 minutes, so this should have told me something, right! I ordered the Hawaii stake and shrimp fajita with pineapple chunks. But I must say the grilled shrimp was the only good meat, the Stake was Sliced so thin and very tuff, and the pineapple chunks were so so small and very few on the plate! The rice was the typical texmex rice and so was the refried beans, but the flour tortillas were stale and hard. I told my husband never again, he agreed. He ordered one dish and git something totally different, but refused to tell the waiter he said his was OK, but it was not what he wanted to eat.

Good meal and very good Cadillac Margheritas. Had the Camarones Diabla extra spicy.... but in reality wasnt very spicy, more of a chile flavor than spicy. Cooked very nicely though. Had the FLAN it was flavorless albeit creamy and smooth. Service was a bit erratic given a slow night.
Got my drink order wrong. I will go back, person with me had fajitas which I was told were outstanding!

I stopped by for placing a to go order. I ordered steak fajitas. Wow oh wow! Service was quick and the steak was the most tender I have ever had, non of that chewy chewy steak. The tastes was equally outstanding and complete. Glad I made a great choice and I will be returning for more.
The restaurant was clean and cashier was nice.

I am updating: I love consistancy and this place never fails me. The food is always awesome. The value for the money is outstanding!
