I tried this place with another friend and loved it. The waiter was very friendly, understanding, and helpful. The food came out quickly and was hot. The drink we ordered was also good. Pro tip if you order a tower make sure to have more than 2 people at the table . I would say 4-6 may be more appropriate. 😂10/10 Highly recommend.

The food wasn't that bad. I ordered the chicken chimichanga. My only complaint is the margaritas. They only offer lime margaritas. This is the only Mexican restaurant I've been to that only offers margaritas. They didn't have any other flavors which I thought was odd. I paid $16.99 for a medium Patron margarita. It was very mediocre. I won't ever order a margarita from here. This is one of the perks of why I love going to Mexican restaurants. Well, I gave it a try. But won't be coming here for a second time. I've been to so many Mexican restaurants in so many states and this one is at the bottom for drink. But I forgot to mention, the service was awesome! Our waiter was very friendly and customer service oriented.

I thought I ordered two soft chili Rellenos and I got was some kind of hamburger meat, cheese thing on top of the chili, even though it looks good in the picture it wasn’t, my husband had chicken enchiladas and they were grizzly and not enough. I recently had the dining at Mariachi and was thoroughly impressed with the culinary experience! I ordered the Camaron a la Diabla, which came drenched in a red spicy sauce. Despite its fiery nature, the dish was incredibly delicious, striking the perfect balance between heat and flavor. 😋 In addition, I tried their Tamales, which were simply good, offering a comforting taste that paired well with the rest of my meal❣️ The service was exceptional, and the atmosphere of the restaurant added to the overall delightful dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to satisfy their cravings for authentic and flavorful dishes!

I'm delighted! I've been looking far and wide since moving to the AL/GA area for a resturant like this with high quality food that wasn't insanely expensive. This is the perfect medium I've spent 3 years searching for again. Large portions, high quality food, amazing service, and a good price! It isn't cheap, but trust me, it's worth it. It isn't nearly the most expensive resturant with Hispanic food you'll find. Try the tacos al pastor. They are absolutely amazing!!

This was our first time trying this location and it was definitely a lot better than I expected. We have tried multiple Mexican restaurants and I think my husband and I both agree that we enjoyed this one the most out of the ones in the area.

We ordered several different dishes. We ordered the Molcajete combo which was nice and tender but was missing the sizzling bowl where the cheese would melt. However, it was still good.

The birria tacos were flavorful, beef was tender, and overall tasted great

My husband ordered the Al pastor burrito which was on the smaller side and the pork lacked flavor like it was almost bland.

And we ordered our 2 year old chicken, cheese, and rice.

The service was pretty good, the bathrooms were clean, and overall the restaurant was clean and aesthetically pleasing! It didn’t feel super tight or dark.

I also saw they had fresh homemade desserts like cakes which I’d love to try next time we try more things on the menu!

The food was delicious and everyone there was very polite and friendly! While the chile poblano picture may not look the most appetizing, it was well seasoned and full of flavor!

Would definitely recommend the Molcajete as well, the fajitas were good but if choosing between the two - go with the Molcajete for sure! If we are back in the area this will be our first stop!

This is the best Mexican spot I’ve come across in Alabama. Food is splendid. Service is awesome. Team greets you when you come in, chips and salsa are brought right away and they are awesome! I ordered the 4 birria tacos with corn tortilla with a Jamaica drink. Jamaica drink is spot on! Birria is well cooked and juicy as it should be. Very great taste and experience! Definitely recommend anyone to come here and give it a try!

I went to eat at this restaurant, they sat me at the table, the person who brings the chips had a bad attitude and threw the chips and salsa on the table. More than 15 minutes went by and no waiter attended to us. Other people arrived, they sat them down and quickly attended to them and we kept waiting. We decided to leave the restaurant. Terrible service. Train your waiters better...

I had the quesabirria. One was perfect with tender well seasoned beef. The other was burned, tough and chewy. The salsa & chips were great. Service was exceptional.

This is by far our favorite Mexican restaurant in Auburn/Opelika. The food and drinks are always excellent, the atmosphere is great, and the service is fast and extremely friendly. I can not recommend this place enough.

Quería ordenar 6 tacos! Pero luego me dijeron que la orden eran de 4 tacos y no podían darme los 6 tacos! Ok luego decidí ordenar 2 órdenes de tacos que supuestamente deberían de ser 8 tacos en total y debio venir 4 tacos en cada plato, pero al llegar a casa y destapar los platos venian 3 tacos en cada plato, que clase de robo es esta ! Y aun asi pague 32 dólares

Finally a Mexican restaurant in Alabama that serves quality Mexican food! And gracious service to boot. I've found that most Mexican restaurants in the area, if I'm being charitable, adjust their menus to suit a middle-American palate, and end up with enchiladas that are indistinguishable from store-bought flour tortillas under spaghetti sauce. El Mariachi is completely different, as was evident as soon as I saw molcajete on the menu. Savory stew, well-seasoned meats, all components properly cooked. Rice, refried beans, chips, salsa, and corn tortillas were all winners as well. The only element that wasn't my style was the guacamole. And while I don't place a priority on quantity, there was more than enough meat for two people. Diners on a budget will do well to order the $22 molcajete with all the meats, add another side of rice and beans, and maybe order an appetizer. I will be back every time I come to Auburn, and I look forward to exploring more of the menu.

After trying just about every sit Mexican restaurant in the Auburn/Opelika area, this is our go to place. We haven’t ventured away since they opened. This is the first one in the area that doesn’t have a near identical menu or taste as the rest of the ubiquitous TexMex places. It truly stands alone on the food and service. They even make their own tortillas in the front of the restaurant now in plain view. Pretty cool. We eat there at least 3 times per month and have NEVER had a bad experience.

Basic American Mexican experience. Most of these places have the same items available on there menus and executed in the same way. It’s like no thought is given to the food quality. Open bag or can and serve. No real flavor. Way better places out there. Ordered a Mezcal Margarita and was brought some basic sweet Margarita they probably serve everyone that orders a margarita. I wonder about these places and if they just give everyone the same drink figuring no one will know or say anything. I sent mine back and got a beer. Wildchild Taco in Hey Day Market is one place that does the food right.

The best Mexican restaurant in Auburn in my opinion. Everything I’ve had has been delicious, but the quesadillas are especially good. Staff is always very friendly and attentive. And they have great margarita specials on Wednesdays, the perfect mid-week treat.

We went here yesterday and we were not a fan at all. We got there right before the evening rush at about 4:45. The waitress did nothing but hang out in the back even though we were her only table for the first 15 minutes. Didn’t come back after she dropped the food off, didn’t get us refills or ask if we needed them. Terrible from the service standpoint. The food came out super quick, which was not a good thing. My kids cheese quesedilla wasn’t melted, my chimichanga tasted like it had been fried hrs before and heated up in the microwave and put on a hot plate. The stale rice and beans were had no seasoning or flavor in my opinion, the chips had no seasoning or salt and the salsa was just bland. There wasn’t a thing brought out to us that tasted good except the drinks unfortunately. We usually go to Viva La Vida, but we have been giving other places a try to mix it up. We will never come back here again, this has got to be bottom of the list for Opelika. Maybe we came on an off day, but I’m not willing to try it again.

The service was really good, it’s pretty clean, but the food is just totally average + a little overpriced. I felt like they really gouged me on drinks at $3.10 each. That’s just kinda crazy. Also my wife’s side quesadilla was $6. For just your standard canned chicken and cheese quesadilla that everywhere else sells for $4. Idk it’s not bad, I just think I’d go down the road to El Patron or Durangos for better food and prices.

We tried El Mariachi for the first time and we'll, I myself in my very own opinion thought that it could have been better. I got the Nacho as my main dish. But I also felt that it was missing something like that extra ump to make it into the dish that it was trying to be I don't know it was missing flavor. The service was amazing though. If asked would try them again, I would. I'd just try something different on the menu!

Undeniably the best Mexican restaurant in Auburn and Opelika, heck, the best I've ever been at. The atmosphere and service is top class, everyone on the staff seems so genuinely happy to work here, the live Mariachi band is what really sets it apart. Everyone from my babies to the little old ladies had a blast! I gave it 5 stars but that seems too low, so here's my new rating 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We just discovered this place and so glad we stopped here for lunch! The food is fresh, plentiful and delicious and the service is top notch! Their chicken taco was huge and full of chicken, fresh tomatoes cheese and lettuce. In fact, after the taco I had to put everything else in a to go box! Also their enchilada sauce is authentic and delicious!
We will definitely be coming back!

We stopped here and we are glad we did! Our waitress, Nelvia, was attentive and friendly. I had the Molcajete combo and the meat was tender and seasoned well. My husband had the Pollo Loco and he really enjoyed it. We will be back again when we are in the area. I would highly recommend it!
