10/10 definitely trying again and so should you! Guys… 🤦🏾‍♀️ this place HIT major in every aspect! I mean from entering we were greeted with smiling faces and positive energy, we were seated and someone came to the table immediately to take drink orders. My classic margarita was amazing and I was a lil 🤪 when I left but thank GOD I wasn’t driving! I’m j/k but it was yummy and I ordered the fajitas and oh em gee! It was huuuuge, no way can 1 person eat this much… I definitely have food for today. They made sure we were taken care of the entire time, very attentive and they asked if they food was to our liking and it was!!! I will recommend this place to anyone and I loved the decor!

I ordered online. My food was ready before the pickup time, the prices were great (not sure why they sold the birria tacos individually with consume though), and the food looked beautiful. It sucks that all of the food was bland (chicken flautas, birria pizza, birria taco, and even the salsa).

We had a great experience here! The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and everything is reasonably priced. Highly recommend checking out their happy hour, which is everyday from 2-6pm. The small margaritas were $1.99!

I have been a loyal customer of this place for years, often visiting weekly. However, I've recently noticed a decline in service quality, which is disappointing. It seems like there might be a lot of new hires, but the last three times I've visited, I've encountered servers with poor attitudes. My order has been incorrect each time, despite repeating it multiple times, and I have been charged twice for the food I ordered.

I've also had unpleasant interactions with the managers. When my food came out wrong, I was told I needed to be more specific with my order, even though I always am. It's frustrating to have to repeat my order multiple times and still not have it right. Having worked in the service industry, I understand the challenges, but the customer should be treated with respect.

The last time I visited, the server didn't even greet me with a "Hello" – she just asked, "What do you want?" That's not how customers should be treated. I don't want to cause problems, but I do expect respect, quality food, and good service, especially from a place I frequent so often.

I hope the establishment can improve its services soon, as it truly is a shame to see such a decline.

This is one of the best places to get Mexican food in Auburn. I got Sopes and my wife had the Pollo Loco dish and Morentia fries and everything was great. They have a large outdoor seating area. My server was patient and helpful as well.

Our family went and had a mostly wonderful meal - it was certainly the most authentic we have seen in Auburn so far. The Carnitas plate and the sopes were incredibly good - I will crave the sopes!! We will order those again and again. The drinks were average - the margs and fruit punch were a tad too sweet for us. Wife had a burrito of the day: it was cheap but would not do it again - was almost all filler of rice and tortilla. Salsa bar was excellent - something for everyone on the bar. They were so close to a five star, but just a few too many misses.

Si pudiera dar 0 estrella lo haría sin duda!! Me encantan los restaurantes mexicanos aquí pedí un plato explicando como lo quería y vineieron con uno que no tenía nada que ver!! Pedí que me cambiaran el plato y no quisieron ! Cualquier restaurante hasta el más humilde pregunta si algo ni anda bien con la comida y de no ser así lo cambia! Do not order the huevos rancheros. Their version of this Mexican classic misses the mark badly. Their version features two fried eggs (overcooked, where the yolk is cooked solid) smothered in bland tomato sauce with rice and beans. These are the worst rancheros I've ever had. They need to get a different recipe, a different cook, or both. The tacos here are really good though and they have a variety of salsas at the salsa bar. The rancheros get a 1 and the tacos get a 5.

I have been here twice. I love that they have daily deals. Today is Taco Tuesday and their pitchers of margaritas were 12.00 and tacos were also discounted (cant remember price) anyway I love coming here for a quick lunch and getting a margarita. Waitstaff is always friendly and sweet. They have a salsa bar so you can grab your own salsa. This is definitely a spot to come to with friends or groups of people. I came by myself both times and enjoyed myself and I was even able to work from the table since I work from home. No wifi but I used my own hotspot (they may have wifi but I didnt ask so try asking). The tacos were tasty! Birrias are good and cant go wrong with an order of guac yummm. Just try it for yourself! Laredos is like my usual go-to but I wanted to branch out and I'm glad I did :)

"I first visited this restaurant when I arrived in Auburn around 2020, and initially, it didn't meet my expectations. However, my recent visit was a pleasant surprise! The food has vastly improved, with outstanding flavors and expertly crafted, handmade tortillas. I'm not sure if there's a new chef or management, but whatever changes have been made, they are working wonders. This place now offers some of the best street tacos in the area. I give it 5 stars for the remarkable improvements in both service and food quality."

Everything was really good. My only complaint, the "steak bits" are too small to cook rare. I tried their salsa verde, margaritas, and quesadilla, all was delicious. Service was fantastic!

My wife and i have been here probably about 15 times in the last 3 years and theres not a single thing bad i have to say about this place. Enjoyed a meal at La Morenita only to find that they charged gratuity on our party of 3. We mentioned this to the waiter and manager. We were told "sorry the computer adds it" and there was nothing they could do. I've been in this area 17 years and never encountered this. Very disappointed and will not go back. Check your receipts. I can get better tacos and margaritas elsewhere.

Went with some friends to get drinks, realized we weren’t feeling it that day so we wanted to leave, we ordered a side of guacamole that was $1.50 on the menu along with queso because they have a policy that you must spend $5 to use your card. After receiving the bill the guacamole and queso that we thought were $1.50 came to almost $5 each. We explained to the server that we asked for the guacamole and queso that was $1.50 (as when we ordered we pointed exactly to it on the menu when ordering it). She says that’s not what we ordered and we got smalls and we told her we did not ask for smalls (which not to blame her but her English is not the best). We asked for a manager 3 times to come to the table and no one ever came back not even the server. I eventually get up to find a manager as we had been waiting 15 mins for someone to come by. When I find her she was extremely rude, blamed us, and told us “that was our problem” because we didn’t know the difference between their small and $1.50 portions when the server gave us the wrong size. After going back and forth for awhile she snatched the receipt off the counter and she only took $3 off of the bill instead of owning and fixing their mistake. As a person that has been serving 4+ years there are certain things that a server and the restaurant must take accountability for when they mess up! They were extremely unprofessional and rude during the entire encounter.

I visited this restaurant recently and the service was awful. Ask the waiter for a recommendation for a drink all she said was get a tower that was $99.99. I ordered a blue drink as that’s what I’m used to getting when I go to a Mexican cuisine, my friend ordered their drink and food and I asked the waiter to give me a few minutes to look more into the menu. When I got my drink my drink was disgusting (at that time my friend received their food and drink as well) so I asked if I could exchange it for something else the waiter got someone else and they said no. My waiter left and never came back. I had to flag someone down just to place a food order. I ordered chicken tenders and fries due to the fact I was already there for 40 mins and no one placed my food order. Once we got our bill it not only did I have to pay for the drink that I only took two sips out of but pay an extra $2 for “extra” my waiter never came back so I had to flag someone else down to see what the “extra” was for. He proceeded to say it’s for a large kids tender meal. I never said large I just said tender meal with ranch please. Large remotely came out of my mouth. On top of getting charged extra for the tender meal they still proceeded to cut the tenders in half as if it was meant for a kid. Lastly I was charged $1.50 for each for my tenders. Like what was I suppose to dip the tenders in? I didn’t drink or eat at this restaurant but still ended up paying almost $25. Worst customer service ever. I would never be back. This place not only over charges you, the workers have an attitude but also is disgusting!

I’ve been here twice and never ordered carry out food and tonight we did place a to go order and I specifically asked for a LARGE cheese dip and guacamole and what they gave me was a joke. Also the salsa they gave for my husbands meal is in a 4oz cup and it’s not even full. The reason I am making this review is because these were $7.75 A PIECE. Will not be ordering again. Save your money if you want carry out go to Durango’s in Opelika

La Morenita has the best Mexican food in all of Auburn. It’s authentic and street style which is so yummy. Their daily specials are great, especially for Taco Tuesday! Great service. Happy environment. It’s so easy to be overlooked but I’m so happy I finally tried it- now my friends and I go at least once a week!

The food here is SO GOOD, the drinks too!! Yall gotta come here. My favorite appetizer here is the morenita fries 😍 Been here three times now, twice to dine in and once for pick up. Everyone has always been super nice, and the food comes pretty quickly. Can't wait to come through again.

La Morenita Taqueria is a gem. I've always loved Mexican food, but this place has painted me into a corner. The food is simply amazing. the family that runs it is always happy to see people enjoying themselves. the restaurant is clean, and the location is perfect. they have a bar with salsas, limes, salad, and hot sauces. and if they don't have the best horchata I've ever had then don't wake me up. I love this place, dearly.

After waiting 15-20 minutes for my order to be taken, although my food was hot, it wasn't tender nor tasty. While guests of a lighter complexion had their orders taken within 5 minutes of sitting down. I had a work call while waiting on my food and I stepped outside to take it, the Manager stepped outside to either check the weather or to see if I skipped out on the check (will let you decide on that one). My Margarita tasted like a cheap wine cooler. And lastly, EVERYTHING on my ticket, except my wine cooler Margarita was higher than priced on the menu. My review history speaks for itself and this is by far the 2nd worst Mexican Restaurant I've ever visited.

In a town with too many Mexican restaurants, La Morenita stands well above its competitors. Don’t let the appearance fool you. The best street tacos in town, and stiff but delicious drinks make for a great experience. For those that are adventurous, they also have an excellent assortment of Latin American themed seafood dishes.

No puedo creer que por pedir un vaso de agua sin hielo me cobrarán un dólar más por no pedir hielo , pregunte en caja y me dijo la encargada que me cobraban más porque sin hielo le cabe más agua 🤔🤔😡😡 por esa razón no pedí hielo, no es el dólar q más cobren pero se me hace un robo tengan cuidado cundo vengas a este lugar a la hora de pagar, que así es aquí en Alabama ,

I have been coming to La Morenita since September of 2021. I am now a loyal customer because of the quality of the food and service. The staff are friendly and professional. The restaurant is clean, and I always have a fun experience and an amazing meal. La Morenita is my favorite authentic Mexican restaurant in the Auburn/Opelika area. As far as my personal favorite menu items, I highly recommend the oysters, Morenita fries, chorizo quesadilla, and the tres leches cake.

We found this place after their post went viral last year. That same day, the place was absolutely packed and it took about a good half hour before we got a table. The ambience that Friday night was very lively. We’ve gone a few times since then (it’s a 45 minute drive for us) and the food and ambience is as amazing as it was that first time. These are the best carnitas I’ve found stateside and the mojarra is also thoroughly enjoyable. Their variety of salsas and plate veggie accompaniments is awesome. Their horchata is a little sweet for my taste but their jamaica is on point and we go through several glasses in a sitting. Love coming here!
