Tekila Mexican Bar And Grill Auburn

I recently visited the restaurant for a birthday dinner with a party of 16, and unfortunately, the experience fell short. It took about 30 minutes just to receive our drinks, and we weren’t able to place our food orders until after they arrived. From there, it was an additional hour and 15 minutes before any food was served. When the food finally arrived, much of it was greasy and unappetizing. While I understand that accommodating a larger group can be challenging, the long delays for both drinks and food are unacceptable. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback into consideration to improve the experience for future guests.

The atmosphere was delightful. Students and visitors filled the room. Service was exceptional and the food was really delicious. We loved it while in town for the Auburn Alumni event.

Great Mexican restaurant. Their fajitas are my favorite around. Fajitas are full of peppers, squash, zucchini and mushrooms. Also had chimichangas very tasty.

Busy restaurant on campus. They seem to manage very well. Great customer service. Nicely decorated, I love the Vicente Fernandez mural tribute. Rice was a bit too salty. Pink lemonade and carne was amazing. Reasonably priced. 5 estrellas 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Tekila is a hidden gem that’s tucked away in a more quiet spot that’s less than 5mins from Toomer’s corner. Their menu is extensive and includes more unique options such as delicious birria tacos and Texas rice. The margaritas are great as well and are discounted on Mondays!

This place has good food and drink options, but service can be slow at times. Also, expect that you will smell like a smokey fajita for the rest of the day if you eat here.

I ordered takeout & was pretty disappointed. I got the empanadas, esquites, & huevos rancheros. The empanadas were really good! The esquites were horrific… canned corn sitting in liquid with a glob of mayo & some cilantro. There was no cotija, no tajin, no lime, no flavor. I had to toss it 🙁 Huevos rancheros was okay but I wish the tortillas were homemade. With all of the Mexican places in Auburn, I wouldn’t return here again.

We really enjoyed Tekila it was super busy for new weekend and homecoming. However the staff was extremely professional and took great care of us the margaritas were excellent and the food was some of the best Mexican in Auburn.

We waited for over an hour for a check in an empty restaurant . We also got double charged for food we did not order. All and all 0/5 stars. Did not enjoy my experience here.

This place is nothing like any other Mexican restaurant in our area. The food is fantastic and has very special tastes. The drinks from the bar are outstanding and again nothing like anywhere else. This family owned restaurant owners and employees treat you like family. A very welcoming environment. Cannot recommend enough. When students come back, I promise, it will be worth the wait.

probably the best beans and rice i’ve had in auburn since moving here. the cheese enchiladas are v good too but i don’t think i should have gotten salsa verde with them lol. some things just do not go together and that’s okay, esp since it was still a very good meal! also cheaper than expected. it was only around $13 for the chips and dinner combined. salsa is pretty alright too. i think it’s extremely difficult to not find it satisfactory, what you see/read is what you get. i’m excited to try more from here now that the experimental one is out of the way.

The best Mexican food in Auburn. I always get the tilapia fish and shrimp plate or the steak chicken and shrimp plate with margarita and everything is always good!

I'm giving this restaurant 2 stars because I haven't eaten there yet. I've picked up a few orders from there for delivery. Every time I've been in there , it didn't look like the type of place that I would go for tacos. I know I'm being judgemental. I'm probably right though. When I actually eat there, I'll update my review.

Service was very slow. Food was bland and the queso flameado was not like any I’ve ever had. Staff was friendly and the environment is nice. Will not be going back though.

I went there couple of times before for dining and loved the food. But today I ordered a take out of Mexican Sandwich (Torta) via call. I specifically mentioned twice that I want a chicken sandwich. But when I opened it, I saw it was mix of chicken and beef (or pork). I had to throw the entire thing. Really disappointed with this service.

Felt like I walked into a vacation at a resort in Mexico. Enjoyed a strong and authentic margarita for just $5 at lunch and my friend had a daiquiri comoletr with fruit garnish and cute paper umbrella. Our waiter was super friendly, prices reasonable, great, upbeat vibe, and solid good food! I was so happily surprised.

I can say I’m a tough critic when it comes to Mexican restaurants, but this one easily became a favorite of mine. Great server, yummy drinks, incredible service, and delicious food! Our server, Luis, was so friendly and knew every answer to the million questions I asked. We come to Auburn once a month and this is about to be our monthly stop, I truly wish I can give it more stars.

Nicely done interior, super friendly and attentive staff, and tasty food. I had the Pollo Loco and it was tender and the chorizo was delicious. Also, the guacamole de la casa was fresh and excellent!

My friend and I visited this restaurant on a Thursday afternoon and it wasn’t too busy. However, we were ignored for more than half of the time we were there. At least 3 different groups showed up after us and we’re we all tended to and served before us. And when we asked to not be charged for a nasty dish the manager and our server proceeded to strong arm and dismiss our complaint, being told that they cannot do that here and that and that we still need to pay for the dish that tasted nothing like it was suppose to. The food was not flavorful at all, very much dry. If you’re black and and want to have friendly, timely, respectful or tasteful service, do not go here. My friend and I were blatantly addressed in a manner than no costumer wants to be spoken to. I would suggest the staff and owners treat their African American costumers like actual people, instead of criminals.

The food is great but i will never go back because the waitress flirted with my boyfriend the whole time and that is so disrespectful, even if he wasn't my boyfriend, you shouldn’t be flirting with anyone.

Can’t say enough great things about this place! The food, service, location- everything! I got a chicken quesadilla and not only was it so good but it was huge too!! The price was just like anywhere else in Auburn but we got so much food! The servers were so friendly and willing to help! Also they had so many little things to make my friends birthday so special! Also the location has a perfect spot downtown! Highly recommend!

I came in dire need of a large catering order and they stayed open past close to accommodate. Service was excellent, the manager was very kind, and the food was delicious. I stay out of town but wish I could have it again.
