Hacienda Mexican Grill

I love this place. The waiters are very nice and hospitable. We got a waiter quickly after we sat down. We got the chance to order quickly after telling what drinks and appetisers we wanted. The food came out very quickly and no, it wasn’t old it was hot and fresh. The place was fairly busy too so it’s not like we were the only ones. I got steak fajitas and they were amazing. The meat was tender and juicy. It was seasoned amazingly and had a kick to it. The tortillas and toppings were fresh and the portions were great. I got 3 tortillas and they were overloaded by how much meat there was. You can easily order an extra tortilla or 2. It was an affordable and fair price. I highly recommend this place with amazing service, vibe, and food.

I ordered the carne asada and I cant believe I ate the whole thing including the rice and beans. Normally I can never finish the whole plate but I finished it this time. Great for families and I will return.

This restaurant is another authentic Mexican option for the area. The decor and music create a feeling of being far from home. We enjoyed a peaceful Tuesday evening as it wasn't too crowded. The fresh salsa and warm chips were a delightful start to our dinner. I had the steak fajitas, and my wife chose the chicken bowl—both dishes were flavorful with ample portions for leftovers. One note: our waitress placed my order before my wife's, so my meal arrived first. It would have been preferable to receive both meals simultaneously to dine together. Despite this, we plan to return.

We had them cater to our company and everything was spot on and met all expectations. The owner of the company and his staff were very friendly and made sure everyone was fed. They asked us many questions on how they could better serve us making sure everyone’s needs were met. By the way, not to mention how good the food was. A lot of the times you can put many Mexican restaurants into the category of “they all taste the same”. The cheese dip at this place is by far the best we’ve ever had. The street tacos was an entree that everyone raved about they got them. All in all, we will definitely be using this company many times in the future.

I loved their food. The Chicken Fajitas were actually seasoned perfectly!! The Salsa was crisp, refreshing, and delicious with herbs. The menu had a wide range of options even with an upcoming Queso Birria. The atmosphere was inviting and calming even for a table of 1. Service was consistent and made sure I was satisfied throughout my meal. 10/10 Would Recommend. Definitely will be coming back!!!!!! Thanks!

Diner here was great. Arrived around 5:45 and we were seated and served promptly. Salsa was delicious with chunks onions a cilantro in it. We both ordered vegetarian dinners(quesadilla and Chile relleno). They were both heavy on the cheese but no complaints there. My dinner came with a guac salad which was some of the best guacamole I gave ever eaten. I will eat here again when I am in the area.

We have many Mexican restaurants in our area, Hacienda has always been our favorite. The staff is very friendly and the food is the best. They have the best salsa by far. We eat there at least twice a month. The grilled shrimp salad is one of my favorites.

The Street Tacos are the best I've had in a long time. The Skinny Margarita is better than the regular. Ask for server, Aryamanay section (sure, I spelled it wrong) she hand makes the skinny margaritas. You'll thank me later.

To start... the atmosphere is excellent. Great decorations with a Mexican theme. We were quickly given a table on a not very busy Saturday evening. Had a little mixup with getting our drinks, but after that service was excellent. We had their bean/queso dip which was excellent as were their chips. I had chicken fajitas which were among the best I've had from a flavor standpoint. Excellent marinate on the chicken. Prices are as expected. Would definitely return here.

Three stars due to experience and not food. The food and salsa all tasted amazing no complaints on that part

I’m a strict vegetarian and ordered the enchiladas supremas (4 enchiladas) normally they come one of each kind but I let the waiter know that I wanted just all cheese enchiladas *head nod for approval*

Food comes, instantly smell chicken and beef ~ ask the waiter to see if he can change it up as I asked for all cheese from the start.

Waiter brings an empty second plate, picks up the meat enchiladas, in the process dropping pieces on my plate and say “I’ll bring 2 more”.. tbh I know it happens but to do it in front of the customer is different. I know I got the same 2 enchilada from the original plate but to tell me to use the same plate that had the meat on it and also do it in front of me?

It was our first time eating here. We drive by all the time so we decided to try something new and all I can say is…keep driving next time. It is not worth $86 for two people. Quite frankly I don’t even know where the $86 came from. I didn’t see the bill but was blown away when I heard how much it cost. Fish tacos were extremely salty. Nothing could mask it. The fish wasn’t even a filet. Just chopped up fish in tiny pieces. The guacamole was smushed up avocado with nothing else in it. We are normally patient with wait staff at places but this was the worst waiter. We would ask for things in advanced after learning he took a long time and still would never get what we wanted until other wait staff noticed. Other tables would sit down after us and finish way before. Save yourself some time. If you want to spend that much or even much less there are way better Mexican restaurants around.

This is traditional Mexican food. Have traveled to Mexico from north to south, east to the west coast, and threw the heart of Mexico Spent many yrs in and out of Mexico. Food is just like home. PERFECTLY DONE 12 different plates sampled every one of them. 10 out of 10 perfect.
My favorite thing is the street tacos. Just melted in my mouth. Staff that I had viewed hospitality above and beyond. They made you feel like you were family and you didn't want to leave.

Don’t normally post negative reviews but this place needs a warning. Restaurant was only about half full but still took forever to get waited on and even longer for our food. Literally an hour. When the food came it was largely inedible. What was offered as carne asada was a thin stringy grey piece of meat cooked to a char on a flattop. No seasoning. No sauce. No pico. Just a small dab of sour cream and some brownish guac. Tacos Al carbon were no better

The waiter finally came back and asked how the meal was. We sheepishly said not very good and pointed to our barely touched plates. No I’m sorry or let us take care of that for you. He just walked away and brought the check. I’m sure he knew

Times are tough for restaurants but this place was well staffed. Waitstaff and management just stood around talking loudly. And it clearly wasn’t just a bad night for the kitchen. The food was just bad — at $20 a plate.

We were quickly seated. We waited for a little while before someone came. When the waitress came, she gave us chips and left. Later on, after we had eaten over almost all of our trips(that much time passed), our drink and food order was taken.
We waited and waited. Well, after well over half an hour, we asked for to go boxes. Eventually, I had to get up and ask again for boxes.
Well, again we waited.
Finally we did get one box and now had to wait for another box.
I tasted my food and it was extremely salty. The chicken was not moist. I was just hoping to locate one positive out of it all. Sadly, I can't find one.

I would not know where you could find better (flavorful, not drowned in cheese, breaded, fried) vegetarian chile relleno in the Birmingham area.. Salsa for crispy chips comes in a carafe and the house hot sauce is solid, Service is fast and attentive, and the price is on the value side.

You can have a long conversations where the line runs between folk art and Kitsch but I do like the whimsical decoration and admire the individuality that creates and shines through such decor.

You tend to get one of two experiences here:

When they are on, they are ON. The food is tasty, the service is quick and friendly, and the portions are generous

When they are not, the food is still tasty, the service is still friendly, and the portions are still generous, but you end up waiting... and waiting... and often end up with orders that are wrong

Our most recent visit:
My wife's soup was perfect, though she did have to ask for a spoon, no big deal
My Fajitas were good... except they had tomatoes I did not ask for, the wrong meat, and I was missing my guacamole and sour cream

Our visit before that:
My wife got a quesadilla that was had no cheese inside? It was cold shredded cheese on the side
My enchiladas verdes were cool and had no cheese, and they forgot my rice and beans

So if you visit them when they are on, it's a 5/5
If you visit them when they are off, its a 2/5

Splitting the difference, still worth a visit though!

This was hands down our favorite Mexican restaurant. We drove from McCalla just to eat here. Even though they are much more expensive then much closer ones. But after ordering some food from here on Friday. And yes I know it's a restaurant and Fridays are busy. But we waited for a Togo order for almost an hour. That cost 70 dollars for 3 people. And we got the worst food and one salsa to split between 3 people. My father in law is in town so we took him to our favorite spot. The item he was looking forward to was missing. My food was smooshed at the bottom of the bag. Because they didn't secure the top of the container. My husband had missing food as well. But the salsa is one of the main reasons we go there. And to put one container and not even half the container was full was more than enough to regret paying 70 dollars and then having to take him to waffle house after so he was full. With the prices they charge and as busy as they stay they can definitely afford to hire staff. And if they hired some staff then they probably would not have a 1 start from me.

Went here for lunch on a rainy Saturday, as we try some of the new restaurants near our new house. The salsa was the best I've had in while. I got a torta, which was really good for lunch. My fiancé got the fajita taco salad and she was pleased with that too. We will definitely be back.

After telling them I am allergic to mushrooms, they proceeded to put mushrooms on every item in my order, none of which were supposed to come with mushrooms. So, they CHOSE, KNOWINGLY, to put mushrooms on items specifically because I was allergic to them.

They will intentionally try to kill you. Avoid this place like the plague, because it is just as deadly if you have allergies.

Waited almost an hour for my order to be finished, and when I received my order, it was missing two of the entrees I ordered. The server at the register also seemed as if he didn’t know where my order was when I arrived. I’ll give it a star for tasting good at least.

My son brought supper to me and his mom from this place the other night. This was by far the best Mexican food I’ve had in some time!!! Everything tasted great and there was so much food that we had enough for lunch the next day!!! I look forward to going to Haciendas for a nice sit down dinner with my wife very soon! Maybe on my birthday next week?!

Always great service, even with our unruly children. They have a decent sized patio, as well as live music on taco tuesdays. Salsa is fresh and chunky, not pureed and watery. Been eating here for years and years!

I like tortas from here...or, I used to. They started using breaded chicken, which is gross. Hell, if you're going to bread chicken, don't use fish breading. But really, don't use any breading at all. You turned a somewhat healthy torta in to an oversalted, fatty monstrosity. I'm sure the other food there is fine, this the 3 stars.

I called 30 minutes ahead for a pickup order. I got to the restaurant a few minutes past 30 minutes. I paid for the food and then waited another 30 minutes for my food. The entrees were cold.
The food taste was ok. The desserts were good but not 30 minute wait good. I will not be back.

Great Mexican food with nice atmosphere. Covered outdoor seating is available with some unique Mexican decor. Chips and salsa was kept filled while waiting for our food. Ordered soft tacos and steak quesadillas that were as good as anything local.

As a family it's usually our go to place. The food is consistent. As a family with the males being from an Hispanic blood we are picky about our Mexican food. The guys always ask for the really hot sauce from the kitchen and they don't disappoint. Always good!

Great food, friendly staff, reasonable prices.
I would HIGHLY recommend the table side guacamole which is prepared fresh at your table by one of the staff.
Other fantastic selections include:
Carne Asada, wonderful, fresh salsa and hot chips, and my personal favorite, the TORTA ASADA! This is the best Torta in the nation! I have tried torta all over the place, including Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, etc. this one is king!
