Great service and atmosphere. The staff were really attentive and had great attitudes. My shrimp tacos, coconut rice, and beans were delicious. My wife's fajitas were bland and under portioned. Refried beans also mediocre. My daughter said her taco basket was so-so. I like all the creative menu options though and like I said my shrimp tacos were great so I'm going to be back and try some of the other dishes.

I have given this La Paz several attempts and each time I am sadly disappointed. Terribly slow service and the food always takes forever. I went recently with group of girlfriends and it was a horrendous experience. Drinks took forever, food took forever, missed items, etc. The worst part of it all was that no one seemed to care when concerns were brought to their attention. This is such a wonderful location it’s so sad that the business isn’t run better. Will not be back.

We had a great time! Neat outdoor area with a fireplace and chairs in addition to dining tables. Great $5 margaritas! No neon green drinks here! The food was well prepared, delivered hot, to our table. Friendly staff and great service.

Catering!!! From start to finish they were outstanding!! We used La Paz for our son’s rehearsal dinner, and it was the best decision I could have made. Not only was service top notch from set up to clean up, but the food was excellent and we received so many compliments. We chose a buffet option as well as extra Al a carte items. Everyone loved the food. Jill was so easy to work with and I cannot thank them enough! The menu choices are outstanding, and they offer several different catering service styles to fit your needs. We chose the executive full service, and would do it again in a heart beat! They took care of everything. If you need catering, they are the way to go!!

Family friendly atmosphere with rooms for small and large gatherings. Excellent wait staff for your dining experience. This is a pet friendly place with seating inside and out. Parking is available in front and back.

Zack our waiter was pretty good, prompt and got the orders correct. The taco basket is overpriced and underwhelming. Same exact flavor and texture as the “crispitos” in highschool. I don’t even like leaving reviews-makes me feel pretentious and stuck up- But man it was terrible…

We never made it to a seat. The place was not very busy, one person kept walking by but talking to no one about getting seated. After 10 minutes of staff clearly knowing we were there, we left.

The spinach cheese dip and fried ice cream are my absolute favorites. I love the tamarin barbecue chicken salad with the house dressing. If I know I am going to LaPaz, I don't eat during the day to save room for all the yumminess!

These folks are great. I have been getting take out since the start of the pandemic. Love that I can order online and go pick up curbside. They are amazing and provide excellent customer service. I have no complaints.

Good margaritas, great service, ok food. The food was alright. I’ve definitely had better Mexican food. Very little meat came in my steak burrito. My wife had a tortilla soup and it lacked the meat too. Staff was very friendly and service was quick.

Not quality food at all. The place was close to empty for a Saturday night. There were six of us and no one found the food to be quality or tasty. Cheese dip was way too spicy, guacamole had too much sour cream or something whipped in it, and everything with a flour tortilla was hard as a rock. However, the waiter had loads of personality!

Showed up at 2pm on a Saturday. Place was mostly empty. It took 10+ minutes to place an order for drinks. We finished our drinks and didn’t even have chips and salsa. No apologies were given, in fact servers seemed more annoyed that we were there at all. Ultimately upsetting as the last 2 times we went it was fantastic.

It was nice to go somewhere and be waited on by a staff that genuinely cared. I know how badly restaurant workers are over worked right now but they seemed to be really enjoying themselves. Oh and the food was fantastic.

I usually don't review but... the service at this place is terrible. They don't bring refills, there is no lighting on the patio, no music, box fan blowing directly at our table, and tonight our server left the restaurant without taking our check. I had to go find someone so that I could pay. The food was ok but we won't be back.

My husband ordered the Zapnin and loved it. I ordered the Fajitas with Shrimp. I can’t complain about the shrimp but the bed of onions they sat on was a bit overwhelming. Included were 2 strips of yellow squash, 4 strips of red bell pepper, 2 strips of green pepper and cupfulls of al dente onions. Definitely this did not equate to the Fajitas served in the past. I voted 3 stars for curbside service and mu husband’s meal.

BEST QUESO EVER!!!! I promise i'm not lying, I go out to mexican restaurants quite often and always get the queso but this place is my #1 it is the absolute best. The food is great, i've enjoyed the two things i've tried but seriously the queso is a must try. The store was dead on my last visit so the server was very attentive and the food came fast. The wednesday margs were very tasty and priced around $5. Again please try the queso some might even say it's life changing.

I called this morning to order food for Cinco de Mayo. My food was supposed to be ready at 5:30, I got here 20 minutes late, so my food SHOULD be ready. But they said it'll be another 45 minutes. Ridiculous! So I drove 20-25 minutes from downtown Birmingham for nothing? I will definitely never come back to this place! They're letting people who just walked up get get ahead of me in line for food when I called this morning. I thought that was the whole point of calling ahead! TERRIBLE service!

This place is not a good experience. They didn’t give me lettuce for my taco. And they put too much pepper on my rice. That brings up another thing, they did not fry my rice. Even though I told them to. And they did not mash my beans AGAIN even though I told them too. Overall this place is bad do not go here if your like me.

This place is the best Mexican food in the area. I've been searching for a good Mexican restaurant since I moved to Birmingham and I tried many of the other restaurants but nothing compared to back home. There was a void beginning to form in my life because of the lack of good Mexican food and it was eventually filled by this place and a peice of heaven called "The Zappnin".

Really wanted this to be good, but it wasn't. Recently moved to the area and we are big fans of Tex-Mex. As such, we were really hoping to find a great place so close. Unfortunately, this isn't it. My food was OK, however my wife's was inedible. It was as if someone dumped an entire salt shaker worth of salt on it. Gave them three stars, as the manager took it off our bill, which was nice. Unfortunately, between the quality of the food and slow service it will be a while before we give them another chance.

It is always Delicious last night Baja Fish Tacos with Dos XX batter fried fish mango salsa was to die for but didnt care much for tarter sauce, the slaw on taco I could eat any time. Great service everytime never disappointed.

Average food, slow kitchen. Made a reservation for 8 people, and stated it was for our grand-daughter's 8th Birthday. They had to set up a table while we waited (we were on-time). No-one at the restaurant acknowledged the birthday celebration. Even ordering desert for "the birthday girl" elicited no comment

We had a wonderful dinner here! The street tacos were SO good. Pulled pork, chicken and steak tacos were all amazing. Their salsa is reason enough to eat here. We were lucky enough to stumble upon this place on a night when they were handing out free appetizers and beer. Delicious! I'm obsessed with the Margarita Cheesecake dessert too. Will definitely be back!

Staff was frantic. Apparently they were short staff. Took 1 hour and 15 minutes for our table to get food. We were told multiple times food was on it's way. Manger did come apologize at the end. I think they were having a bad night. But, as a my first time there it was a bad impression. A good leader should have been more in control of what was happening. I dont know if we will be back or recommend this business. It is unfortunate, my expectations were higher.

I continue to be baffled by the lack of awareness of businesses today. What part of Chick-fil-a's success is difficult to understand? What part of customer service is difficult to understand? It....is...so... simple. Yet this basic principle escapes today's businesses as if it is some complicated subject like astro-physics. Honestly, you don't even have to have good food, if you simply take care of your customers, they will return and spend money at your establishment. What is so complicated about that concept? Am baffled

The staff is always friendly and helpful. The food is top notch. Food quality is what sets it aside from quick Mexican joints. I highly recommend La Paz over all Mexican restaurants in the Birmingham area

It is not authentic mexican, better mexican can be found tor a better price, but the food is good, and the meal prices aren't really that bad. But they charge $3 for children's drinks, which is not very common, and that can definitely make your bill add up FAST. Otherwise, very cute and cozy restaurant, good food, decent service. It's an okay back up place to eat if you live nearby and dont want to drive out onto 280 for a quick family meal.

If you are looking for cheap Mexican - this isn't your place but it also doesn't empty a wallet. Just moved to this part of town and decided to try La Paz for the first time. I had heard their prices are high but after getting in there, they may be a bit high compared to the cheap Mexican food places where you get a meal for $8.99 or so, but they also don't serve cheap Mexican food so two enchiladas, rice and beans for $13.00 - really isn't that bad.

Tuesday night is taco night and it is pretty busy. My wife had two tacos, $3.00 each and they were delicious. They have a texera (sp?) sauce that they use that is delicious. My enchiladas were great and I had enough to take home for lunch. Tuesday night is also margarita night as well.

The restaurant is cute, outdoor seating on really neat old kegs turned into seats, gas fire pit going and the inside is just as nice. Bright colors, tastefully decorated, not super loud and full bar.

All in all, I will be back and next time I am going for something that has the texera sauce.

Fish tacos were outstanding, I had fried and grilled fish, both excellent. We also had the Santa Fe enchiladas, also great. Queso superb. Lunch on Saturday, service very good, quick. TX margaritas were also excellent. Will be back soon.

We had a party of 7 and the service was quick and the food was delicious. Our waitress and servers made sure that everyone was happy especially the grandchildren! Will definitely be going back.

Good food, service could be improved. Went on a Thursday night and it took 45 mins to be seated, plus another 30 mins to order and receive food. The food was really good and the margaritas are excellent.

A new location for the La Paz Mexican restaurant. This location in Mt. Laurel opened within the past month.

The staff was very friendly and food was delivered quickly from the kitchen.

The menu choices were less than I remember from the Crestwood location. But I have not been to that location in some time.

I tried the Santa Fe enchiladas and they were great. However, they were not rolled as I am used to from other places. It did not take away from the flavor.

I will add more to the review as I return for future visits.
