At the suggestion of my sister we decided to eat here. Upon entering, the place was almost empty and it was early on a Friday night which should have been a clue that either the food or drinks were not good. The grilled chicken on the nachos had no seasoning on it which took away from the rest of the dish.

One of my favorite restaurants in Birmingham. We have been coming for years, and they smash it every time! Food & Service are top notch! Wait staff is excellent with my kids and we love it here! Highly recommend!

Came here on a random Tuesday and was just looking for somewhere to eat. This place was super good and the service was good as well, they had a great selection of food. They also decorated really well. The cheese dip and salsa blew me away, I would totally recommend going!!!

We stopped by for a late lunch and found the place empty. So we sat at the bar. The service was good and food delicious. We’ve been here many times over the years and have found they consistently do a good job in the kitchen. Weather permitting they have some tables outside that we have enjoyed in the past. Great margaritas too.

We will be going back.

Not the best. Steak on the nachos was not tender and was very chewy. They put refried beans on the nachos. I like refied beans, but they really covered the nachos with them. It's just way too much. Service was just ok. Nothing worth noting. The one good thing was the salsa. Very flavorful and has a good kick to it.

Their cheese dip and salsa are both excellent and the Caldo Tlalpeño is a relatively unique soup I haven't seen at many other Mexican restaurants. Service is usually good and efficient. Margaritas are delicious. Parking is definitely limited but usually you can find a spot. Great for lunch or dinner! Perfect outdoor seating when weather allows.

The area was lovely. The restaurant had a good vibe however; I did not like where I was seated which was in the back near the bar. The space felt crowded & cramped so I ordered a quick taco salad. My meal was okay. The meat looked delicious & juicy but it was tough and hard to chew. Underneath the protein was cheese, a ton of lettuce, and barely anything else, $18 +’tip.

My salad had a piece of paper mixed in it, ...the waiter said it was a piece of the straw wrap because it was cold (of course it was cold! it was a salad!) I had all 4 pieces of the 2 straws i used and that piece that idk where it came from and it was my fault? Come on...

Kinda dark and bar-like, even midday. Feels a little cramped but offers some good fare and creative options. Convenient for people that live in Homewood or Mountain Brook.

Ordered skirt steak. More gristle than meat. Literally could not cut it with the knife provided. Waitress didn't come back for almost 20 minutes - too late by then. Still didn't comment or offer to bring do anything else when I said it was inedible. Last visit I'll ever make. Used to be excellent

Food prices are definitely Mountain Brook prices. Food is slow. Margaritas aren’t worth it. Service is below par. Mountain Brook people will pay it and never realize it… Just discovered El Parton on 280 and will start going there! WAY BETTER.

Service was rushed and uneven. I have dined here before for carry-out and it was fine, dining in, not so much. Great location, typical Mexican food for Birmingham, not impressed with the service. The server was either overseated, or did not view my table as important. Could not get a refill on my drink, when he finally did get to my table, asking for extra napkins put him off. Can't say I will never dine here again, but I wouldn't drive out of my way either.

I love the place. Mexico Lindo steak fajitas are the best in town. The fajitas arrive at the table, steaming with big strips of steak lying on top of the veggies. Unlike most Mexican restaurants, where the streak is chopped into pieces mixed in with the veggies. Everything I have had on their menue is really good. In addition to steak fajitas, the steak burrito is terrific. They have the best salsa. The menue has the best bang for the buck. I highly recommend you give it a try. The only thing missing is fresh lemon as they only have limes.

DON NOT MISS THIS PLACE!

Are you kidding me?!?! I’ve been trying Bham restaurants for five weeks now and THIS is the best meal I’ve had! It doesn’t hurt my feelings that is was a great value.

My salmon filet was huge and perfectly grilled. Additionally, the mango and tomatoes were ripe and sweet. Kudos to this little hidden gem.

The food reminded me of El Chico from back in my youth in Oklahoma. Very yummy veggie enchilada and red sauce. All about this place. Oh, and the spicy salsa was amazing. So good.

This is our absolute FAVORITE Mexican restaurant in the whole city! The service is always impeccable, and the food is incomparable and reasonably priced. Also, the atmosphere is cozy and the metal stars and lanterns on the ceiling are amazing. The Frida Kahlo paintings really add to the ambiance as well. Delicious frozen Margaritas too! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I visit this restaurant frequently! My son and share fajita nachos. The food is great, the venue is always clean, exceptional service. There is a bar and outdoor eating area. Margaritas are on point!

I took my mom to Mexico Lindo for her birthday (11/2022). Their service has never been exceptional, but last Saturday it was completely unacceptable. Our waiter, Saul, had a bad attitude from the beginning. When I requested more salsa and other items, he wouldn't bring them. It wasn't that he was too busy, as he passed our table multiple times without acknowledgment. He seemed hostile, and when I addressed the issue with him, he told me to keep my tip because he "didn't need it." He was very disrespectful and obviously not much of a businessman, people person, nor waiter. I spoke to the manager regarding the situation, and he seemed indifferent. It was definitely the last time I will visit Mexico Lindo in Mountain Brook, and I certainly recommend against it to anyone else. The experience ruined my mom's birthday lunch and my day.

Great lunch menu. Salsa es muy authentico, good chimichangas, flavorful chicken enchiladas, a true classic.

*Update - Had lunch enchiladas #21, colleague had #8 combo plate. Excellent as before. Ask for the homemade HOT sauce if you want to kick up the flavor!

Food was below average. I ordered carne asada and it was overcooked, a spring mix salad that didn’t taste good, didn’t eat the beans, corn tortillas are not fresh. Margaritas were good they charged me $ 1.00 extra for strawberries they could have included it in the price. If you pay with credit card you will be charged a fee. I will not be eating here again.

Came here for lunch as we do on occasion. Obviously, they had staffing issues that day because the poor waiter was running all over. We had a longer wait than usual. Food was still good and orders were correct. Always good, service usually fast.

This is a solid Bham mexican joint. I am from California so I am very picky about quality Mexican food.
This place had fresh food; really tasty shrimp and great chips, salsa & guac. The chicken quesadillas looked great- cant wait to try that.

Mexico Lindo has an authentic flavor and vibe.

I've been to several amazing Mexican restaurants, and was just passing Birmingham after coming back from a vacation. I googled Authentic Mexican food near me and Mex Lindo popped up! The food was DELICIOUS, the service was AMAZING, and the prices were great as well. Definitely will be back next time we pass through the area.

Some of the best Mexican food in the Birmingham metro area. The chips are good, too, and the prices are reasonable, especially considering it's in Mountainbrook, where it's a local favorite.

They have outdoor seating when the weather is nice, too.

My wife lives the tortilla soup, which is a hearty portion.
