I absolutely adore this place!! A great family owned restaurant who does nothing but deliver! The food is amazing and so is the service! I would highly recommend the tampiqueña steak, carne asada street tacos, and the chicken tortilla soup for these cold months!

Be careful of them scamming you, they manually change their tip to charge more, a $100 bill exactly and their 18% tip was $20, but literally below that it said 18% was $18. I questioned them on it and they said they would fix it. Came back with 18% was $18. So something is fishy, some one is scamming the customers

Pablo’s has been our go-to spot for Mexican food for the last 15+ years! I highly recommend their new steak dinner and one of Putu’s famous margaritas! All of the staff there is wonderful and their patio with live music on a fall day is such a treat. I love this place!

I've very disappointed with my lunch. My go-to dish is the Avocado Salad. I ordered one with chicken and one with shrimp. I've eaten here several times, and this is by far the worst. If I wanted a chicken or shrimp salad with avocado on the side, that's what I would have ordered. This salad looks thrown together and rushed. Thr salad usually comes with a whole avocado sliced with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, corn, and cheese.

This place will go on my Hit or Miss List. Sometimes it's a Hit and sometimes it's a Miss. So, if you're hungry, I wouldn't recommend it. Go somewhere you know will be a hit.

We have been going to Pablo's for years and usually have a great experience. We made the mistake of ordering for pickup for the first time. There were multiple problems with the order. My wife has a dairy allergy so we asked that her order not have cheese. It was smothered in queso. I paid extra for grilled chicken and didn't get it. And the worst part was we found a toothpick IN the chimichanga. Glad my wife didn't choke!

Honestly, the few times I have been in for take out I have never been greeted just have had to wait until whoever is in charge of the cash register I guess finally comes around to bring my order out. My first experience at Pablo’s was really great! But the second and third time was not as great. I ordered the chicken fajitas and I do not believe any of it was worth the $18+ price I paid for. The chicken had no flavor. It is the first time I eat out and had chicken with absolutely no flavor no seasoning on it. The beans sadly had a burnt taste to it. I also ordered a large cheese dip because my daughter lovessss cheese dip! And unfortunately it tasted burnt as well. I really hate that they would sell food that tastes gross and even worse burnt. I don’t know who in their right mind would want to go pay anything for burnt food. It’s disgusting I’m sorry I was left very upset and disappointed that we had to throw away our dinner on a nice Sunday evening. I spent above $50 on our family’s dinner. So after our third time visiting this restaurant we won’t be coming back based on our experience we have had.

Pablo’s has been our go-to spot for Mexican food for the last 15+ years! I highly recommend their new steak dinner and one of Putu’s famous margaritas! All of the staff there is wonderful and their patio with live music on a fall day is such a treat. I love this place!

Putu Agus, Primanta, is an asset to this place. He makes the experience. If he worked for me I’d offer raises to him quarterly or more. Food is good, staff is kind, and the place has great drinks. I highly recommend them.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. I ordered a burrito supreme which was served cold and was off-putting from the start. The choice of meat I ordered had a strange, unappetizing texture that made it nearly inedible for me. When I brought this to the attention to a different the waiter, I was met with a rude and dismissive attitude. Overall, the lack of quality in the food combined with poor customer service made it bad experience for my first time there. I won’t be returning.

Me and my fiance use to go once a week for years and now we live an hour away and will literally drive an hour to only eat here! Im a cheese dip fanatic and they have THE BEST cheese dip. The salsa is also my favorite! The food is fantastic! Best mexican restaurant ever

I’ve been a patron for three years due to the proximity of the restaurant to my work, but the service and food quality have continued to decline for the last several months and I can no longer justify paying for the experience. I think today has been the worst of my experiences so far, in which I sat waiting to order, waiting on my order, waiting to pay, for nearly an hour overall. It’s after 2pm on a Sunday and there are only three tables occupied in the main dining area…
I had to send my first dish back because it was so cold, and the second was hot enough to feel microwaved not freshly cooked. The solo server had friends at the restaurant and was neglecting the other tables. From now on I will be driving a little further and frequenting Casa Fiesta, where the food and service has been far superior.

I really didn't want to post but I think other people should be aware at this point. I've had raw chicken here, that was served to my child, I posted it on my fb but didn't tag the restaurant because I have a friend that works there. This past time, I guess they changed their cheese dip, the enchiladas were cold and just not good. I took two bites of my food and when the waiter asked if everything was good, I said no and explained the cheese dip situation and my meal. My husband didn't like his either but he doesn't complain. Lol. Long story short, the manager or owner (female) tried to change my mind to order something else but my appetite was ruined so I declined. She took the cheese dip off but left my food on the ticket! I told the waiter that I was not happy and shouldn't be charged. Finally, my friend came over and made things as right as could be. We still paid over $35 for a kids meal and whatever my husband ate with a kids soda and his soda. Sadly, I think we're done with Pablo's. The food has gone down hill and the lady was rude for not just apologizing and comping my food. We used to be regulars. 😞

I sat at the bar and ordered to go food. Birria tacos with only rice instead of beans. With a large cheese dip. Asked for the spicy salsa as well which I know is Atleast sometimes a thing. Bartender understood I wanted to burn my face off and added what I can only describe as hot oil. Not the spicy salsa I wanted but I’m still battling my face melting off after 1 taco.

Only subracted a star because I ordered no onion extra cilantro and got nether. And the price is outrageous but still good for a treat.

This maybe the worst Mexican I have ever had . I had the steak borrito delivered via DoorDash . I also had cheese dip and Diet Coke along side . The borrito almost tasted Italian and had some marinara type sauce . The Diet Coke was already opened and the cheese dip was cold . Absolute garbage .

Very nice experience at this restaurant. We had a group and the service was on point. The food was excellent too. They even had a live musician playing the guitar and singing lightly in the background. Great place to get Mexican food. The queso and chips were amazing as well as the salsa. The entrée made my night.

Very busy and loud Friday night, but the service was okay till near the end, and the food was great.

We were wanting something smallish to share. Got the Queso Fundito with Steak and were very satisfied.

Nice sturdy chips are served with big bowls of fresh mild salsa. They knew we would need the big bowls, it was delicious.

Well this was a one to put on the memory book we came from out of town to enjoy the city we ate yesterday here and the waitress wich was the best serve us 💯 we decide to go back today early for lunch and shes not there so an older man served us no problem i ask for the same thing i ask the day before and the guy brings me something totally different i told him thats not what i got yesterday and in a second he responded with a attitude thats what you getting i told him i dont want that i had the same thing day before and this is not it well things got heat up and he started using profanity so i decide we just going to leave and come later may be hes shif is over well we came back tonight and same lady that serve us and i ask her for the same drink she was like of course like yesturday i said yes well she came back and said well the big glass is hone the owner took them off from shelf i said that guy serve us earlier and we had a little misunderstanding she said THAT IS THE OWNER !!! Well just got interested she call the wife wich is one of the owners too and she came we had a conversation she agreed thats was wrong what he did i said is ok we just want to have a good diner and enjoy the night she said you will get the same size of glass from the first time and that was the end everything was wonderfull BUT THE BIG BAD GUY THE OWNER !! and disrespect us i told him to chill and go away HE WALK FASTER TOWARDS ME AND AND LOOK HE WAS TRYING TO GET PHISICAL WHICH I HAD NO PROBLEM!! THE WIFE CAME AND TOLD HIM TO STOP AND ACT LIKE THE OWNER AND THAT HE WAS AT THE WRONG WELL BIG BAD GUY ONES I GOT UP AND GOT LIL HEAT UP HE DECIDE TO WALK AWAY AND GO BEHIND THE BAR wich i believe that was hes best decision ever well this SO CALL OWNER HAS NO RESPECT FOR COUSTMERS WICH IS WHAT KEEPS HES RESTAURANT GOING BUT WHAT HURTS THE MOST MEDE ME FELL BIG TIME DISRESPECT IT IS THA ***** HE IS HISPANIC JUST LIKE US AND ACTES LIKE HE WAS DIFFERENT FROM US BUT O WELL JUST WANTWD TO SHARE THIS EPISODE THIS IGNORANT OWNER MADE US GO TROUGH .... Yes, great food and good service.
The only thing that struck me was that on the payment, they have a surcharge $ if you use a credit card or debit card.
If you use cash, there is no surcharge.

For the owner:
By doing that, you make customers unhappy, and you are probably hurting your workers' tips.

This is pure money laundry.

Usually this place is great. It's our go to Mexican restaurant. However, last time they were pretty packed and the waitress ignored us for most of the dinner. I understand that places get busy. However, I didn't appreciate her trying to take my food before I could pack it up, and her moving my personal belongings.

First time visit. Chips 'n salsa better than average. Was going to get the street tacos, but decided to get the Mexican chicken pizza because it was unique. It was packed with ingredients and exceeded my expectations. Very, very good and huge. Everyone in our party ordered something different and it was all good.

For 18 years we've stopped here on the way through the state, and have always been glad we did. Being from So. AZ, we're used to good Mex food and this is it.

One of, if not the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten!!! Might have seen our waiter twice and when we finally could get refills on our drinks, someone else had to find him. Decided I wanted to get some food to go, I looked online at the food and prices. Found something I wanted so I called and placed an order. Got to the restaurant and the order was $20 more than it was online. I ask about the price difference and she stated that, “ that menu was outdated 10 years ago.” Like it was no problem. WTH! How you run a business, but don’t update your website.

Don’t sit at the bar if you go. Food was all right but it felt like we were being deliberately ignored when the people sitting next to us were brought more chips and our basket was still empty. We are visiting from Ga for a Bama basketball game and stumbled on this place. The food was outstanding, but our server, Putu, was even better. He was attentive, very nice, and felt like we actually knew him personally. He gave excellent meal recommendations and was right on time with anything we needed. My wife and I live out of state but stay in Birmingham for Bama games. After a bunch of disastererous attempts for dinner we stumbled into Pablo's. Getting lucky is an understatement, this is an awesome low key spot with great food, great service and a ton of TVs to watch games. I highly recommend a try. We will absolutely come back.

Smoky tomatilla salsa amazing! Pork street taco best I have had in Birmingham. Veggie Quesadilla was a meal for 2! Server was top notch! Very good experience! Thank you!

Went to this place on a whim and it didn't disappoint. The sad thing is that I pass this place all the time and never went in to see what they were all about. Usually, most Mexican food is going to be similar but this food was good because the meats were clearly seasoned and the rice was cooked very almost perfectly. The reason 5 stars weren't given was due to the service not being the best. It was ok but our waiter seemed to be preoccupied training someone so they didn't give all their attention to their tables but the manager was still doing a great job compensating for that and helping out when able. Will definitely go back in the future.

Called and placed an order during lunch hours and was charged dinner prices when I arrived. I asked to be charged lunch prices and the manager told me “I’m not doing that”. Very rude man and didn’t offer an alternative to the mistake he made.
