Stopped by for a quick lunch—it was really good! Prompt service and the prices were great, less than $10 for lunch (a taco and enchilada plate) and my drink. Will be back.

Went in yesterday - just moved into town from Nashville. I love to eat Mexican at least once or twice a week. Service was excellent, waitress above and beyond very attentive. Food was also extremely good. Will be back every week, also only 7 mins from my house which is a plus.

Exceeded my expectations. The food was very good and our server was very friendly and made sure we had what we wanted several times. He made us feel like we were long time regulars although it was the first time we were there. We had a couple of margaritas which were excellent. The chips were warm and the salsa was delicious. The rice and the refried beans were perfect. I had a fajita steak quesadilla which was wonderful. We will be back.

ponchos is my go to Mexican restaurant… While it’s about as authentic as the average TexMex place, it is more than made up for by the family that owns and runs it. Once you’ve been there for a couple of times, they recognize you and generally know what you want to order. I almost always recommend adding chorizo to anything to give it a little more ump, But I totally understand that they cannot put Mexican fire into every dish. Over the years, I’ve eaten everything on the menu. Tonight was the fish tacos….

The food at Pancho’s is fantastic, and the aroma as you approach the restaurant is truly inviting. However, the strong scent of Fabuloso cleaner is a downside. Because of this, I prefer to dine outside whenever I visit. I’ve noticed that my friends share the same sentiment about the overpowering smell of Fabuloso, which unfortunately masks the delightful fragrance of Pancho’s delicious food.

In the 80's, there was a large chain of restaurants that were a Pancho's Mexican Buffet. They were throughout OK & TX when I was in the military at Tinker AFB, OKC, OK. They had little flag poles on each of the tables and that's how you requested something from your Waitress, you just raised your little Mexican Flag and a waitress would appear.

THIS Pancho's is not of a Mexican Buffet type, but all the food ice gotten there is delicious AND it's the ONLY Mexican Restaurant that actually identifies on the menu which of their dishes are "HOT" (as in SUPER SPICY). AND ice never been "burned" by something that was "supposed to be", mild or no seasoning. We've gone there so many times their staff feel like family!

Pablano pepper chile had not been peeled and the skin was tough and stringy.

Found this place looking for some authentic mexican food in irondale, Al to take our construction crew to for a thank you dinner. It was a bit if a wait for food but they accommodated our group of 17 pretty well. The margaritas were a very light pour. Im a lightweight and I felt and tastes nothing. Everyone enjoyed their food tho and the chorizo dip was really good. Could have taken a bucket of that home. Friendly staff and great decor with a lot of cool furniture and pieces to look at.

We come here every so often. It’s like a tradition more than anything. The food is okay for Mexican options in the south. The enchiladas, taco salad, fajitas, rice, beans, and chips & salsa are decent. The cheese and queso are not high quality but the prices reflect that. House Margaritas are good enough for about $6 each, upgrading to Jimador for example will cost $10.25 for one. There is a bar and HH specials run on Tuesday & Thursday. Outdoor seating is available when the weather permits.

It was okay. It took a long time for the waitress to return to check on us and it wasn't busy. The food didn't come put very hot! I've had better, however the waitress was friendly.

It's another cheesy-greasy Mexican place. Various tacos, burritos and green margaritas. Sombreros and cacti remind you it isn't Captain D's or Deenny's. This is not a great or bad example, but it is the best one on this end of Bham. For whatever reason this type of place is going downscale, and some are closing. No idea why, but it's a trend. I'm still baffled at why Superior Grill 280 closed.

Food was great, but the service was honestly about as enjoyable as a trip to the dentist. We were given rude facial expressions, constantly had to ask for drink refills and or chip/salsa. There were 8 of us and we were only given 2 chip bowls and 2 bowls of salsa...
When we asked for more we were ignored or met with disdain for bothering our server. Same went for drink refills. Food was pretty good however. The only time our waitress was nice was when she brought the bill.....

You can never go wrong with a good fajita. I wish it would have had a bit more seasoning to it with a little more seat on it. It was good but was cooked more so like sauté them grilled. Loved the decor and staff was friendly. I thought the sign on the door started why they were closed on Sundays was cute also.

The food was off the hook good. Needed more heat for me but they corrected that quickly. Margaritas were nice. A bit soft buy I live in new orleans so mist drinks are. I will be back soon. Well done my friends

I’m not from around here and I just grabbed to go to bring back to the hotel. I was not expecting much from what just happened to be the closest Mexican restaurant (especially being in Alabama) but I was very pleasantly surprised! The salsa was very delicious and the tortilla chips were perfect. I ordered the pollo con crema and My meal was excellent as well. The tortillas were actually soft, the chicken was not over cooked at all and the meal had a good amount of peppers and onions without skimping on the chicken. If I come back through this way I will definitely be back. Oh yea and the hostess was very nice as well.

The pros: Friendly server, orders were correct, food was good. Con: Sssslow to take order and slow to get food out. It was at peak hours, around 6:30 pm on a Friday night, so it's understandable that there would be slight delays but it was slower than what one would expect.

We stopped here randomly on our way passing through because the Chick-Fil-A was “permanently closed” and we are so glad we did. Some of the best salsa and one of the best Mexican meals we’ve ever had. Our two year old ate all of her food as well. We will definitely return the next time we are passing through! Great service as well. Worth a visit!!!
