Fast Casual Taqueria. Family Owned and Operated. Family Recipes from Tabasco,Puebla and Michoacan, MEX. Full cocktail program. We do appreciate your business and be mindful of fellow guest waiting on tables.
Nice spot with some good Mexican food downtown, finally! Stopped by with my sons for some lunch & I’m glad we did. I had the Puebla Bowl with 1/2 suadero & 1/2 pastor: YUM. I’m just getting over a cold and the spices really woke my tastebuds up.
They have a toppings bar that is self serve. I love this concept; I can dress my food how I like. BTW, the green salsa is absolutely great, avocado based.
I ordered my sons a chicken torta and they maxed a whole half of it. That says a lot for toddlers! I’ll definitely be back. Looks like a cute place to have date night too. They serve alcoholic beverages & the traditional Mexican coke in the bottle as well as Jarritos and Mineral Water. Jesus was very sweet and hospitable! Go Salud!

Great new option for Mexican in the downtown area. Convenient location, cool atmosphere; my only complaint would be that the tacos are slightly small and it takes quite a bit of food to fill up, but what you get is tasty no question. Tried the Sonoran tacos and enjoyed it (but needed that 4th meal to finish the evening).
I'd give it another try in the future, but it's a bit of a hard sell when Paramount is right across the street. Regardless, I hope it does well for itself - the staff are pretty cool folks. 👍🏼

Great cool new place in the ham. We visited recently and arrived early for lunch. We were lucky to have arrived early as they got really busy. We sat at the bar and enjoyed our food. It’s a smallish place but also has some outdoor seating. The food is a delicious mix of traditional burritos tortas and tacos adding proteins in any mix you can dream up. The toppings bar lets you kick up your meal with fresh made salsas and pickled toppings. The atmosphere is trendy and cool with lots of locals. I’d Definitely make this a go to if I still lived downtown. Great job making this historic corner into a cool taqueria.

I’ll start off by saying I’m a very particular and picky person 🤣 ❤️. As much as I love Birmingham, I have yet to find a restaurant/place that I actually like here when compared to the other cities I’ve been to. But this is the ONE. The drink service was fast and good y’all, it actually tasted as it was supposed to and not like some cheap variation. The food was spectacular. Their green salsa (and others) was actually thick and good, not the watered down version of things you get at other places. The food was PERFECTLY seasoned, not too strong and not too light! I had seen a review where someone mentioned it needed salt and respectfully- this isn’t a fast food place where it’ll blow your sodium intake over the roof and call it flavor. It’s balanced and tasty with REAL flavor as good food should be. 10/10 recommend- better than any place I’ve had in Birmingham AND Nashville ❤️. Keep up the good work, Birmingham desperately needed a place like this.

FINALLY!!!! Somewhere in bham with good tacos!!! For drinks I got the salud margarita and the mezcal cocktail. Both delicious however for the price you’re paying it comes in a very small glass filled with ice. I got maybe 3-4 full sips out of both cocktails and I’m not exaggerating. To me that’s just ridiculous. However the food, hands down the best tacos in the city. Ask for extra tortillas as they are Homade, tacos were plentiful! Service above all else was phenomenal. They also have a “taco bar” it’s two salsas and some fixings so you do it yourself.

Best burrito in the Birmingham area. Beats any taco truck in town. Great drinks too, and all reasonably priced. Portions are huge.

Delicious food and one of the freshest margaritas I’ve ever tasted. Service seemed a teeny bit spread thin but the room was packed a bit. They were really nice when they checked in with us

I absolutely loved picking up what Salud was throwing down during the pop up days. I went to the brick and mortar at the start of lunch on a Friday and was excited to share the experience with a colleague. Ordered three tacos: nopal (!), pastor, and longoniza. The salsa bar was calling my name as I eagerly awaited the tacos. The tacos were stacked with meat and the nopales were tasty. Was super bummed though, that the tortillas were cold, floppy, and utterly unprepared to get the food to my gullet. At $5 per taco I'd love to see warmed, store-pressed tortillas. They're the heartbeat of it all! I wonder if it was just a bad time but it's difficult to justify the expense when there are great tacos all around town without having to pay the 20th St tax! Much love to the folks at Salud, I'll let things balance out before trying them again.

Pretty cool spot, but I feel it necessary to comment on the disparity in prices printed on the menu vs. final cost. 3 beers, listed as 6 on the menu, cost 21.42, almost a 20% increase? And I paid cash? This needs to be addressed immediately

This place is awesome. One of the best burritos in B'ham. It's a pay then seat environment which wasn't apparent from the outside but the service is still amazing. There is outdoor seating with heaters during this time of the year. It's a little cozy, I wouldn't come with party larger than 4. Would return.

Edited: We got the chance to come back after their full opening and it was absolutely delicious! A great addition to Birmingham’s food scene and actually authentic Tacos Al Pastor!
Came in at 11:01 on a Saturday night and the kitchen was closed even though they say they are open until midnight. I guess they don’t like making money. We will have to try another time to actually taste the food, but everything looked great.

Came here because it was the only place open! The chicken quesadilla was yummy, probably the best I’ve had in a minute 🔥🔥

Salud did not disappoint! The food, salsa bar, and drinks were delicious. The atmosphere, music playing, the vibe was perfect. Our group of 3 sat outside and visited on a Thursday around 6:30pm, it was a great night outside. The location is great for downtown. Service was wonderful, everyone is outgoing, smiles, and very kind. This is my favorite Taqueria/ Mexican food. I can't wait to try the breakfast

Applaud yall for having cactus on the menu. Im vegetarian. I still eat egg and dairy but nice to have cactus on menu so it was a given to come here. Cashier was having side conversations with coworker and no holding down her position. New customers are coming in and would like attentiveness especially with exploration of Spanish menu at hand. I know some Spanish but I ain’t fluent. Anyways, other than that food was great. I like the variety at taco bar and thickness of sauce. Fresh chips. My friend and I enjoy. FYI: overkill on the beans, seriously mega protein. Just saying.

Went for lunch on a Tuesday and it was pretty busy. It’s pretty small on the inside and gets loud quickly. Had the queso, al pastor, steak, and chicken tacos. The queso was definitely better than your average Mexican restaurant. The tacos were pretty mid. Not enough flavor and the meat was chewy. The staff was friendly.
All in all a mid experience. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there. Just disappointed due to all the hype surrounding the place. Honestly you can get better flavored tacos off Lorna road.

Stopped in after a comedy show at the lyric theatre. I ordered four tacos and my husband had a torta. When we received our order the tacos were loaded with meat. For the price you definitely get your money’s worth. I love the condiments area where there was options of jalapenos, cilantro, onions and a variety of salsa. The food was delicious and The service was top tier. We had multiple people stop by our table to ask how things were and to let them know if we needed anything. If I lived in the city I would stop by more often.

We really enjoyed our meal at Salud. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by nice ambiance and even nicer staff. I ordered 3 tacos (pastor, pollo, and suadero), my husband ordered 2 sonora tacos (pastor and suadero), and we split some chips and guac. Everything was excellent and authentic. They also have a garnish bar with sauces, onions, jalapeños, cilantro, etc. for you to add to your meal as you like. Well deserved 5 stars. We can't wait to come back!
