If you go on a weekend be prepared for a line. They do have outside seating which is good if you want to bring your little puppy. The people were very efficient and nice. I would say try them at least once if you like Moe’s or Chipolte. 2024 update. Much improved! Things are good now. Still good in 2025.

My Attorney boss and I tried this location for the first time. Sat-out on the patio, fantastic weather! Atmosphere great, bartender made the best skinny margarita!!
We both ordered Taco baskets- boss got rednecker basket with refried beans and I ordered one chessybeef and one rednecker with queso.
Be sure to park on the side by Edgar’s if you go at lunch! The parking lot is not the best but if you have to it’s worth the walk. lol

Got a burrito bowl to go and it came in a normal to go container, so decent amount of food right? Nope. There is a smaller bowl in there that they “fill” up. Highest part of try food doesn’t even cover the fork section…there is MAYBE a quarter of the To go container amount of food in this. Not to mention the rice is rock hard…like cooked for 5 minutes, not the 20 it needed. For the price I just spent, I should have gotten at least half is not 3/4 full container. Did return it, and the staff was good about excepting it and giving us a refund.

Quality is pretty good but the two taco (crunchy)combo was rather unimpressive in size. The tacos were tiny, not any bigger than what you’d get at “the bell”. Look at the tacos next to my “side” of beans to get an idea. For $12 I didn’t think the value was there. The Staff was friendly and the place was clean. The beans tasted fine and I think the salsa was freshly made. I may try another dish there but will steer clear of the crunchy tacos, unless I’m on a diet.

I love to eat at all the Taco Mama locations but HWY 119 is by far my favorite! Everyone is always super friendly, the location is super clean and organized, and even at their busiest times the wait is never very long. The Kitchen team always seem to be having a good time and they get your food out fast!! Never have I gotten the wrong items or a cold entree. When it's a nice day, I love sitting on the patio. They even have a doggy water bowl incase you bring your furry friend along!

My customers and coworkers raved until I had to try it. They do not disappoint! Totally awesome food. Something for everyone on the menu. Quick and easy service, knowledgeable staff, killer atmosphere.

The black bean side was a 5! The Judge burrito a 4. May I say too much chicken? But the preparer needs to put the ingredients on the tortilla in a row, not 3 clumps left, middle, right. Oh, and leaving off everything else? Shredded cheese? Lettuce? Nowhere to be found.

Enjoyed the dinner with my family. My daughter has a severe milk allergy and I asked if the kitchen wouldn’t mind doing a glove change before they prepared her food, just in case. They were very polite and very accommodating about it! Believe me, that’s rare these days. I will continue to frequent this restaurant as often as possible! Thank you!!

I absolutely love the food here. The only thing that makes me want to not go is the employees. We feel smothered every time we eat here! If you have a self serving drink station, as I’m standing there about to get my drink for myself, like it’s designed for me to do, why would an employee ask to do it for me? I literally come to a counter service restaurant like this one to relax and do things myself without a server. As we were eating, I actively had my food in my hands and someone came up, as I was chewing, to ask if they could take my tray. I said no, 30 seconds later, another employee tries to take it! I appreciate the effort, everyone is really sweet but it’s ridiculously annoying. If they’re scrambling so much to try and find something to keep them busy, to the point where customers are leaving pissed off, you may have too many workers at a time. Like I said, the food is great but I’m rating it lower because I don’t know when I’ll feel like dealing with the aggravation again. To make things clear, this is a regular problem, not just a one time thing. There’s plenty of other stories…

The best thing about this place is they have plenty of employees. Then down hill from that point. Employees act in a rush even when business is slow. They are skimpy on chips and salsa. The food looks amazing but taste will disappoint. And Over priced.

My family stopped by to grab some dinner and was standing in line to order food. We had two small children with us and tried to grab a table while one of the adults ordered. When we sat down, we were immediately confronted by a staff member that informed us we could not sit at a table until we ordered our food. We tried to explain that we had two children (under 5 years-old) and standing in line with them was cumbersome with diaper bags, etc.. The staff member stated “I’m sorry, however it is our corporate policy that all customers order before sitting down.” Again, we tried to explain that one adult was in line to order, while the other adult sat at the table with the children. We also explained that there is limited seating for those with children requiring a high chair (high top tables are not an option). The staff refused to consider this common sense approach and we were not allowed to stay seated. If this is truly a “corporate policy” maybe Taco Mama could use a little common sense training pertaining to customer service. While we were walking out, a gentleman was sitting at an outside table and we questioned why this was allowed. The staff member stated “he has been sitting there for about an hour waiting for guests to arrive.” You can’t make this up… and I’m still trying to make sense out of all of this. We will dine elsewhere from now on. Not family friendly and definitely not a kid friendly environment.

The only reason I give it all 5 stars is because one of the week day managers, Alex, is the best human ever and she makes driving out of my way to this taco mama well worth it. She makes the best cucumber margaritas, always recommends the best food on the menu, plus she’s got the friendliest, kindest personality! Highly recommend!

Went here for the first time tonight and was very impressed! Over the top customer service from the moment I walked through the door with a detailed explanation of the menu, amazing food, frequent drink refills, and friendly staff. We just moved to Birmingham from Utah where the customer service was trash. This was a great welcome to our new home. We’ll for sure be back to Taco Mama!

My husband and I love this Taco Mama! Every single time we go (which is about once a week, if not more), the staff are incredibly kind, helpful, and put a smile on my face! The food is consistently delicious, and the margaritas are fantastic as well. I highly recommend the nachos! There is enough food in one serving that I always have lunch the next day as well. We don't go out to eat very often, but when we do, it's always to the Taco Mama on 119. Cheers to the great staff!!

This place is wonderful, it was my first time coming here and when I was greeted at the entrance by a beautiful woman showing me the menu for the restaurant and how to properly make an order, I was delighted and I went inside, got a to-go order and the food is on another level, it's better then Del Taco and Taco Bell combined literally!

The food was delicious. I also had the cucumber margarita, which was very good and also refreshing. The fish taco grilled was cooked to perfection and felt healthy as well.
I will definitely return on my next visit to the area.

First time at a Taco Mama.
Staff is very friendly, which was appreciated.

Ordered a burrito and a children’s cheese quesadilla.

The quesadilla came out with cold cheese that was not even melted all the way so they made a new one for us, which was nice.

The burrito (?the Judge; had chicken in it) had a collection of the blandest ingredients. the temperature of the ingredients, like the seasoning, was also lukewarm.

Nobody at this place must’ve heard of seasoning. It was also the most haphazardly wrapped thing. Just so carelessly wrapped that I could not pick it up without the whole thing breaking down.

The salsa, guacamole, and chips were okay.

Go to Chipotle or Taco Bell… or just any other Mexican restaurant. This place is not good. Sorry for the people packing this place thinking it’s edible.

Love coming here every time! I have used their catering multiple times and it is perfect each time. Just went today for my son's birthday and the service was great, they gave our table cookies because they heard it was his birthday. Plus their margaritas are the best in town!

I love this location!! I try to come by at least once a week. The service is always friendly and very quick despite how busy it always is. Many of the servers even remember my order when I come in the door! Very attentive. Love the atmosphere and, of course, the tacos!

Called ahead of time to make sure that it was "Happy Hour and 1/2 price Margaritas,"was told "Absolutely, come on in." Split an order of Nachos with a friend...enough for 3 people, so got a to go box. When presented with Bill, and paying at the counter I was told "Next time you'll need to try our 1/2 price Margaritas, every Tuesday. " I said "Well, I called here, and my understanding was it is Happy Hour, and 1/2 Margaritas?" Was told "Not on the Jalapeño Margaritas blah blah blah." Food is always really good and Margaritas are good, just a bit disappointing to have such confusion on pricing!

Love the food. It’s always consistent, been coming here for years… but hate the wait! They have a lot going for them here, but they can’t ever seem to figure out how to get people through the line in an efficient manner. It’s the menu (and patrons indecision and possibly confusion)… there’s too many options. And they could open that second register more often… that might help. So enjoy the food, just be prepared for a longer wait in line to order than you would expect.

Great spot for some food and drinks with friends. The atmosphere at this location is welcoming and the open indoor/outdoor dining creates a perfect flow between the order counter and seating.

Staff was friendly and attentive.

We started with a couple of drinks and were blown away by their margarita. Let's be honest, it's really not that hard to make a good margarita, but their seasonal flavors are what elevated it above what you would typically expect.

The food was amazing. Delicious high quality ingredients in traditional Mexican dishes with a modern twist. Their crunchy shells made the perfect vessels for their barbacoa and toppings which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Their chips were fresh and thin, complimented by a very delightful salsa. All of their sides were delicious - specifically the cilantro rice which my only complaint was that I wish I had more to eat!

I ate before at taco Mama at the summit location but wasn’t that great I didn’t want to go next time. This time I give it a second try at the different location at the 119 location.when I got inside of a restaurant I got in line ,!when I was ready to order nobody even looked at me , and greet me , no one say hi ! girl at the register turnaway did not want to assist me , so the guy help me to get my order . I had order chicken quesadilla bowl .
I got my plate in about five minutes. Yeah I order to go because I wanted to eat in the car. Open my plate and was unpleasant smell i think chicken was smell kind of spoiled. I did not see any chips and salsa , like the restaurant Guy told me I will have free chips and salsa.

Lee and John was great. I must explain my experience. I ordered 3 dishes and came to the store to pick it up. After I got back to work I realized that we did not have the salsa or the chips to go with our meal. After reaching back out to the staff the manager apologize and made sure that we had our chips and salsa ready. I appreciate the customer service that was delivered with the staff at 119 and my team will be back.

Insane wait times to order. While the food is good, the cramped, long lines to place your order are nuts. Not sure if their menu is just too complicated for local people to figure out, but, choose to dine here, and you run the risk of waiting 20-30 minutes. Nothing fast or casual about this place.

We’ve enjoyed Taco Mama for years & didn’t have problems. This is the location we tend to order from. Last 3 times we’ve gotten food, a different family member has ended up with a bad tummy the next morning and in our most recent order, we found two different hairs in our food. We kept trying to give them a chance, just the one bad order … it happens… but it’s not worth it anymore.

Open up two registers so that it does not take so long to place orders. Painful to order food at all restaurants due to one register. Plenty of people just walking around that you could put on a register

If the line reaches the door expect to stand on a concrete floor for well over 45 minutes just to place your order. If bouncy loud is not your thing you will likely not enjoy the atmosphere.

We love the "Justice is Served" fish tacos with anchor Chile slaw. We also get a side of cilantro-lime vinaigrette to put on the tacos. It is delicious. The chips are a little on the delicate side but we like them. I especially like their salsa, guacamole and cheese dip. We also like their skinny margaritas. I am getting hungry.

Dope food at a great price!!! And their chips..... let me tell you.... those are the restaurant tortilla chips you always hope a place has but rarely does.... BOMB!!!
