Outstanding Service and Exceptional Staff!

I visited this taco restaurant recently, and I was blown away by the kindness and care from the entire team. As someone on the spectrum, I often have specific food requests, and they went above and beyond to accommodate me.

The staff were incredibly friendly, patient, and understanding. They took the time to explain how certain foods are cooked and even remade my order to ensure it was perfect for me. I cannot express how much I appreciate their effort and willingness to help – it made my dining experience so much easier and enjoyable.

If you’re looking for great food and a team that truly cares about their customers, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

We ordered food for our Cheer team after a long day of competing. We had orders for almost 50 people. Their staff was amazing. I can’t say enough about our great experience at Taco Mama! The manager of this location, Jeremy, went above and beyond to make sure our food was perfect! He handled a bunch of complicated orders (on short notice) for 40 girls. Not only did he help me figure out the most cost-efficient and easiest way to order what I needed, he was even cautious enough to contact us about a food allergy for one of our girls. The staff was so very attentive to our orders and helped make a good trip to Birmingham even better! We will definitely order from here again the next time we are in town.

Huge portions of food with lots of choices. Especially enjoyed the fat boy and the frozen margarita swirled was excellent. Fast service and the cashier order person was most helpful in making our selections. Would highly recommend

My husband and I were visiting Birmingham from Atlanta and found Taco Mama to be right down the street from our Air BnB. Everyone was so friendly, from the waitress to the young lady taking our order at the register. I was super shocked to see how much food they give you for such a reasonable price. I was even more shocked that you could choose unlimited toppings for your burrito. And also our food came with a side and a drink which was unexpected for how little we paid for the meal. And let me tell you, this was the best burrito I've ever had, all the toppings were fresh and the barbacoa was cooked to perfection. Also, our food came out super quick and the side of Mac and Cheese was GOOD and cheesy! The only complaint I have...is that we don't have a Taco Mama in ATL!

Great place!! Heard about Taco Mama before visiting and it did not disappoint at all. Taco Basket (Alabama redneck and Chicken) were awesome. Loved the chips and salsa too. Definitely worth the try

I don’t come to taco mama regularly, so I wasn’t sure the difference between a regular margarita pitcher and a skinny. I ordered a regular not knowing that meant skinny, and as the bartender called out the skinny pitcher I wasn’t sure if it was mine or not. So I went and asked about it, and I was greeted with a crazy level of attitude from the bartender and her do worker prepping trays. They did not even try to answer my question but treated me like I was nothing short of an idiot. Girl working the bar had an attitude mumbling and rolling her eyes the minute any customer walked in and ordered alcohol. Ive worked in food service for 7 years and always tip well but this was one of my worst experiences at a restaurant as far as service goes from start to finish.

My husband, daughter, and I came here while in town. Sooo yummy! We got the build your own nachos and they were delicious. Huuuge portion too! If you get these nachos, make sure to add queso because I'm not sure if it automatically comes with.

I come to this location quite a lot on my lunch break and their service and food is always fantastic! I came in today though and was having issues with my card and the manager came up to me and said it’s on the house! I’m so incredibly grateful for them and doing that!

I ordered the Fat Boy Burrito, a $14.00 plate.
The chips are the best around. It comes with chips and a ramekin of salsa and one side which I ordered the queso, which came in a ramekin, as well.
The Burrito was full of refried beans but the sirloin steak that was supposed to be in it was minimal. I bit into a little at both ends but literally took five big bites down the middle and got only refried beans. I could have gotten more for my money just down the street at Moe's.
Sorry Taco Mama, this was a fail on your part!
I gave you three stars for this visit because i have received better before but the time fell way below Taco Mama standards!

I revisited this exact location 08-17-2023 and much better folks! Every place has a bad day and many of the faces were new. The service was tops and the food was on point.

Delicious food with generous portions! Endless options for vegetarians. The margaritas are delicious. I am not normally a fan of tequila, but the drinks are perfectly mixed and I will order one every time I am here. The staff were so kind and accommodating. Please come to Atlanta!!!

I’ve only been to this location twice and never eaten there.

The first time, I ordered one thing and got something else. It looked correct at first glance but ended up being some other kind of meat. I had to walk a block back to the restaurant. Told a guy behind the counter. Then instead of taking the food back to the kitchen, he walked over to the manager and they discussed it for a several minutes. Realizing they were still going to take several more minutes to make the food once the order did reach the kitchen, I interrupted their conversation so I could get my money back while I still had a chance to make it back to work in time.

The second time I stood in line for 10 minutes. They only had one register open. There were 11 people in line. I was #5. It took all that time to take only two orders. Meanwhile two employees stood behind the bar area chatting. Not running orders. Not cleaning up. Not making drinks. Just talking. I left in frustration.

This is a great social stop for the employees. How much do you guys pay? It sounds fun to just get paid to chat with coworkers.

All I can say is you should plan to share! I ordered the fried grouper nachos and received a whale of a serving! Personally, the fish was a touch spicy for me but I am a whimp. Otherwise, this joint over-delivered.

The product I got was OLD… the rice was dry hard and the corn was hard as well. I came up to the restaurant after calling in about it and you would think Travis had seen a ghost… a better job of keeping an eye on food on a prep line during no peak hours has to be done… I cracked a filling in a tooth.

I liked this place!
Definitely has a young and fun vibe to it. I got the chicken and pork tacos with a side of street corn. You get a great amount of food for what you pay! I didn’t realize the taco baskets also came with chips… which were really good! And salsa too. The pork taco was pretty good.. had a lot of flavor and slight kick to it too which I liked. I thought the chicken taco was pretty plain.. but was still seasoned well. I got the skinny margarita half off for “Taco Tuesday” and it was quality for sure. Not to mention I thought the customer service was also really great. All the workers were very attentive and always ready to assist.
I could totally imagine this being the perfect game day drink spot for college students! I’d probably stop back in if I were in the area again.

I reached out to manager Lee to reserve a spot for my family who traveled from three different states to participate in the 15th annual Rumpshaker 5k race @regionsfield yesterday Immediately after the race we dined here...

Super nice atmosphere that allowed us to fellowship as well as celebrate my mom's 16th Colon Cancer Free-Versary !

And not to mention the delicious food and portion sizes. The waiters & store manager Jeremy were very attentive. Jeremy did his very best to cater to my 90 year-old grandfather also,

Although my mom already dines here three times per week, the rest of our family will be back to enjoy.

Found this place randomly while walking around downtown. Great space for hanging out. It happened to be National Margarita Day so Mi Casa margarita was 1/2 off.

Food - Ordered nachos with salsa, guac, and cheese dip. So delicious. Chips were fresh and crispy. Guac had a little kick to it. Different from what I've had at other restaurants but still very good. Salsa was good and tasty.

Location/parking - Downtown. Sits along the road so the patio is a fun place to hang. Parking along the street and, I think, the apartment building where restaurant is located.

Atmosphere - We were there on a Wednesday mid day so it was not busy. Looks like it'd be a lively atmosphere during busy times.

Food was okay, but I am voting five stars off of service alone. My family and I were very happy and pleased with Jeramiah, Marc, and Yessica. They were the only servers there and took care of us nicely. I felt bad because of the short staffing, but they held it down and everything came out on time for my big family! I would recommend this establishment to any of my peers.

I ordered a catering for today and the experience was great! Jay went the extra mile and took his time to make sure we had everything we wanted for our lunch. Cedric was also great and arrived in a timely manner and had a great attitude. I will be ordering again for other events.

Excellent, great food and staff, I ordered classic tacos everything separate and they knew exactly what I meant. We were out and they travel better this way. Especially the hard tacos, those will not last the trip home. Good vibe location, Family favorite, and great for a night out.

Jeremy Beasley (General Manager) and his team set the highest standard for hospitality!! I hosted a corporate event at the restaurant, and way more people than expected came last minute. Over 60 people in less than 2 hours! I told him as soon as we realized only an hour before the event. He and his team immediately kicked into gear. Important to note that our guests are not easy to impress, but Jeremy and his team blew us away. Food came out on time, lines were reasonable, margaritas were amazing, and everyone raved about the staff. Jeremy not only maintained an open line of communication with me all night so I could relay messages between staff and guests, but he also worked HARD alongside staff to make sure his team and we were taken care of. Seriously the best restaurant I've worked with in Birmingham. I plan to host all of our future events here. Just don't do what I did and make sure to talk to Jeremy at least a week and a half in advance ;) Delicious fresh food, excellent portions, extremely kid friendly, accommodations for ALL dietary restrictions, timely service, and QUALTIY team. Can't say enough.

Great place to eat & drink w friends. Sadly the prices have gone up quite a bit during covid, but that’s happened pretty much everywhere. I always get the Fat Boy (a steak burrito) with guacamole, which is really good here. Food comes out fast, and refills are free, which is always great!

I’ve eaten here probably 15 times in the last 18 months. I think my order may have been right 3 times. I’d taken to checking my order prior to leaving and have them correct the mistake. This last time they told me one set of tacos was the other half of my order so I didn’t question and when I got home realized they were wrong and had put toppings on my tacos I can’t eat. Sometimes I can pick it off and sometimes I have to throw it away. I sent an email to their corporate office and 8 days later still haven’t gotten a response. I haven’t had this problem at their other locations. I wouldn’t have posted this publicly had I received a response. Staff is nice, though.

I had the fat boy burrito with steak, the steak was not seasoned and had no taste. I had the street corn for a side and it taste like the corn was used from two days ago. The customer service is the only thing that would make me come back. I should have followed my first mind and went to 280 like I being going.

There was a really long line and they were very busy when we were here a couple weeks ago, but the staff was efficient in taking orders and brought out the food so much quicker than I expected! We had burritos, and my Yo Mama reminded me of tacos my family would make at home when I was a kid. Basic, but comforting. The guacamole is delicious!!

A group of at least twenty of my friends from a service project came here during an evening that we got to explore Birmingham, andeven though there were a lot of us, we were each served with enthusiasm and kindess by the staff! Not to mention, these tacos are the best tacos I've ever had. Highly recommend, and I'll be back to Taco Mama if I ever visit Birmingham again!

I placed a to go order and had to wait 30 minutes for my entree. I was informed that they were out of queso and that the rest of my order would come out soon. After waiting for a side of queso for 30 more minutes and my to go order now being cold (1hour or more after I placed the order), we ended up having to leave without the queso. The queso was the only reason we decided to eat there tonight, but is now the reason we won’t be coming back. If you want this type of Mexican food, go to chipotle instead.

Waited over an hour and a half for food after we ordered and never got everything. After 30 min of waiting for our food only one meal came out and they had to get my burrito re-made. After waiting another 15 min for the burrito the manager came out and said there was no more queso anymore. She said they would be making some more quickly. I waited 30 more minutes and it never got made. Manager refunded my meal ($7), but I used a $7 coupon to go towards my dinner and never got that back..

We had Taco Mama’s cater our elopement this past weekend. First of all, the food was PHENOMENAL - everyone loved it and tacos are such a good wedding vibe 😊 Separately, there was a teensy error with our order and Taco Mama’s went well above and beyond what was necessary to remedy it *without* even having to have a long discussion. We loved the food, but even more so we loved the service. We emailed our wedding coordinator and told her Taco Mama’s was our hands down #1 recommendation for future weddings!!!!! Thank you for being the least stressful part of our wedding 🎉

The food was the best I have ever had at a taco mama. The wait staff was fantastic in being proactive, welcoming, and handling the table clean up as we left the restaurant. Well done

It was okay. I like the 280 location much better, but this location was convenient for me and the group I was with.

Huge portions of food with lots of choices. Especially enjoyed the fat boy and the frozen margarita swirled was excellent. Fast service and the cashier order person was most helpful in making our selections. Would highly recommend

Went to this restaurant on a Sunday. Unfortunately left immediately as it smelled of sewage upon entering.

First time in this location. Otherwise I have always had good meals at Taco Mama but this location was untenable today.

Never reaaly paid attention till I got in and boy will they see me again the crew were super warm and helpful and. Personable may have found my 2nd post work spot the food iw amazing loving the swirl margarita and the ahi tacos thanks ladies for being close to work great midday. Or heck ANYDAY hangout

Love Taco mama. 4 stars because they left off an item I specifically asked for, it was on the ticket and paid extra for it. Didnt have time on my 30 min lunch break to go back.
