Tacos El Guero

For my money, the best taco truck in Birmingham. Parked in the lot of the Shell gas station, and they now have a pavilion with picnic tables for those who might want to eat there!

My favorites are the chorizo, pastor, and lengua tacos. Both red and green salsas are excellent, and the double tortilla on each taco is welcome to help contain the generous filling. For those who don't like cilantro, however, be prepared to pick it off; my requests for no cilantro seem to never make their way to the appropriate person. Don't mind a little extra work on my part, though, to enjoy this outstanding street food.

I’ve lived on 280 for a while and decided to give it a try. 10/10 recommend. The language barrier was a little different, but it tasted so good and was cooked perfectly for me.

Some delicious Mexican food! Initially, I thought the tacos were small. After finishing one, I struggled to finish all three of them in one sitting. The chicken tacos were seasoned perfectly, the presentation was fitting, and the service was quick. The price is around average, but I’d recommend this place over any other Mexican restaurant! Awesome food truck!

Swung by this place around 9pm and was throughly impressed! I ordered 3 tacos (carnitas, Al pastor, campechano) and they were fantastic. All were well filled and surprising very hot and fresh even at this hour. I actually had to let them cool off after almost burning my mouth on the Al pastor. I will definitely be back to try some lengua/beef cheek tacos and would recommend this truck over a few others I’ve had in town!

One of the best taco trucks in Birmingham, and certainly the best on Hwy 280. I love their tacos and quesadillas. Moderate priced and quick service makes this a great lunch option.

Amazing food, really nice people. Have been many times, and never had any issues. Quick service and always delicious. Try the green and red sauces on your food! Spicy, but really good flavor! I always get the steak tacos, but have tried beef cheek and also really good.

Proper street taco. The pastor tacos are my favorite. I think the others need the salsa to have enough flavor. The salsas are good - for gringos, expect to burn either the front or back of your mouth, depending on your salsa of choice.

First time trying this taco truck, the tacos were seasoned just right. My friends tried the chicken quesadilla and we will definitely be back to try more. Also super friendly and attentive costumer service 👏 so glad it’s so close to us!

I will have to say that service is way better than the taco truck at Home Depot. Atmosphere was very prosaic. I ordered 3 tacos, same I order at every taco truck, 2 steak and one chicken and asked for the salsa, that's a must have. Definitely not for me, there was something I could not figure out, on the steak tacos' flavor, but not what I expected and too salty. My chicken taco was a bit less salty, but not tasty. Lime juice, we need in our tacos, they were dried out. Salsa, nope...taste did not help in making them tacos taste any better. Disappointed, but hey this is how you know where you can stop for your lunch and where you shouldn't.

Came here back in January and these were the BEST tacos and nachos I've EVER had!! The flavor is outta this world (IMO). CANT WAIT TO VISIT AGAIN, TODAY 🤣🤣🤣😌👅

If you like heavy handed seasoning and 3 people telling you that you are wrong with your order ¿?¿? Look; I don’t care how much the food costs if it’s right. If you say no onion pir se my order from the board says raw onion and cilantro comes on asada. Omit onions- that wasn’t the worst of the error of ordering them without onion
The tacos had so much (onion) on it and cooked into the meat I will not return to this establishment and it says a lot since I love street tacos. We don’t do it that way is a far better answer than getting my entire order wrong.

Uno asada; sour cream, onions (for my friend) lettuce, and cheese turned into trés asada

We were missing a vital reason I chose this place; tré asada no onions were not put into the order checked 3 times. My throat is burning from the spices and I had to pick out raw and cooked onions once I convinced them I was missing parts to the meal. Well; that’s another $9 if it is correct I don’t mind the money for my greatest friend-

I ordered online through their website and when I arrived and showed the woman my order receipt she typed on her phone that they no longer use the online order and that they changed the prices. When I said I already payed for food she just continued to say no. She didn’t care at all that I had just lost money because of her business

A coworker told me this place had the best street tacos so I grabbed one while I was stopped for gas. (Yes, they're parked in a gas station on 280.) The asada taco, WOW, big flavor and fresh. Beautifully seared and juicy steak, fresh tomato and onion mix, and lots of cilantro. Squeeze a little lime for brightness and a pop of citrus. It was fabulous!

I'm not going to lie - I'm a persnickety person when it comes to tacos (yes, I just posted one about Taco Bell, but that's besides the point).

This place is a TRUE taco truck. The tacos are amazing and they even have huarachos (translated to shoes) which is quite rare, especially in Birmingham and off the 280.

I've head nearly all of their tacos from them and they are all great. Plus, after just 2 visits, they already remember me and what I like.

I’ve tried this place twice now because I thought maybe the first time was a fluke. I see the good reviews but it doesn’t add to what I’ve gotten twice now. Dried meat and over cooked every single time. I got a tacos and burrito first time. Second time 2 different tacos and the corn. Corn was ok, for can corned it was jazzed up with too much lime for my tasting. 2 stars for hot food and it was fast, but overall poor performance. Was looking forward to this place

Delicious tacos! They were so good that I actually forgot to take a picture of them but I can tell you that the carnitas and Al pastor are delicious and satisfying!

There isn’t a better Taco truck in Alabama! They have another location in Hoover on Highway 31 also. When I tell you I love the quality of the food and the people I mean it! Amazing!!!!!!! Everytime I come it’s amazing!!!!

I enjoyed the food here, 8ordered the nachos and they were really tasty and a larger portion. This is a busy restaurant as well with a lot of college students as we as other people. The only thing is it's a small restaurant and very crowded, so if you choose to eat there be prepared to wait for your food and a place to sit and eat.

I’ve had my fair share of authentic tacos, but $3 tacos that i could finish in 3 bites is overpriced. Originally from just outside of Atlanta I was spoiled with great taco places, but this doesn’t come close.

I ordered the steak gringa taco and got a steak quesadilla. I was also short a steak taco. The food I got was great, but they got the order wrong. The gringa was for my gringa at home and wasn’t happy.

We’ve been going to this taco truck for 2-3 years now and by far the best tacos in the state of Alabama by far.
Our teenage sons usually get steak taco, my wife often gets ceviche and I get tongue and/or cheek tacos and they’re all delicious.
Their burritos are good as well and they’re huge.
To me everything especially tacos are very authentic.
When we used to live in New York sometime ago, there was an equally excellent taco (Mexican) restaurant there and ever since we moved to Birmingham, we’ve been looking for a good taco restaurant (we tried hundreds of different taco trucks and restaurants) and we finally found one.
If you want really authentic tacos, I highly recommend this place!

Definitely recommend this taco truck! The tacos de cachete (cheek tacos) are bomb! Customer service is also great. During lunch or dinner time you should call in advance to get your order started before you arrive because it does get very busy.

Awful customer service. I asked if they had kid or single tacos and he acted like he didn't hear me. I ordered a Quesadilla . It was $8 I gave him a $10 bill and told him to keep the change (he heard that) once my order was ready to pick up I asked for sour cream and he told me it would be $0.50 . RUDE PEOPLE AND THE FOOD WASNT EVEN GOOD.

This is my favorite taco spot in the whole Birmingham area. Parked right next to the shell station I wouldn’t have thought they would be this good, but they are DELICIOUS. Anything you order will be amazing. Great prices, super friendly staff.

This was the first place I found Tacos al Pastor in Birmingham back in 2016. Excellent street tacos, good prices, and generous serving sizes. My favorite is the green sauce on the tacos al pastor. Also notable was the chorizo. If you're in the mood for something cheesy, the Pastor Gringas is pretty unique. It's like a street taco / quesadilla hybrid. If I had to commute down 280, I would be stopping by here all the time to turn that traffic frown upside down. :-)

My son introduced me to this taco truck. These are great, inexpensive, and authentic. The green sauce is awesome (but has a kick) They make an awesome evening snack. Or grab a fast lunch. Grab a bottle of Mexican Coke or drink from the truck or something else from the gas station. Well worth a special trip or the stop if your driving buy.

Best tacos you will have in your Life!!! Is where the Mexicans go for really good tacos. Lady is from Hidalgo Mexico. Better tacos than anywhere in Houston TX, according to my girlfriend. You have to try the Pastor Qeusadilla...it's the bomb.
