Beautifully decorated restaurant with delicious food. Staff was friendly and attentive. Everywhere was clean. I had traditional street carnitas tacos 🌮 This place is also very large. Great for large groups! Also, there is an outside eating area.

What really stands out at this place to me is the ambiance and decor. From the landscaping outside to the beautiful light fixtures and art on the inside, they did an eventually job with all of it.
So, I come in on a Tuesday evening, sat at the bar and got service right away. Plenty of seating all around. I get a top shelf marg, great flavor, the oj flavor comes out nicely with the 1800 gold they use. I order the grilled chicken with mushrooms. They serve complimentary chips and salsa in the meantime. The salsa has a good flavor, not spicy hot for you mild tongues or there.
The main dish came out, and was definitely piping hot. Came with 3 tortillas, some lettuce and tomato, and I added jalapeños. I like to make burritos out of what's on the plate. The chicken did have good grilled flavor with hints of spice in it. The rice not too bad. Got a lot of jalapeños with the order, lol. Overall, I liked it. The service, was pretty good and attentive.
I've been back since.

Wow. This place is good! Service was quick and food is very good. I had the Fajitas Mex Tex and it came out sizzling! Only ate half! Chips and salsa are also good. Large portions and prices are fair.

First visit my wife and I were impressed,service was friendly and fast both at checkin and at table. Waiter was very helpful and friendly. The food was hot and well prepared. Taste was superb. Could not ask for a better visit. We will return.

We met my parents here yesterday and it was so disappointing. I truly don’t think the waiter cared if we got anything or not. He was not nice at all. My dad asked for cheese dip 3 times and never got it. He also had to ask for sweet and low and finally got it after asking 3 times again. My dad ordered the Ricardo steak medium rare and it was so overcooked, he didn’t eat but a few bites. We all had to ask for everything multiple times. I once was a waitress so I know how it can be, but he was not busy . He was folding silver ware with two other guys and I would have to get their attention to ask him to get things for us.
I also was checking our bill to make sure my dad didn’t get charged for the cheese dip. He just said it wasn’t on the bill and never apologized for not bringing it.
It was just overall disappointing. Everyone else did seem really friendly though from what interaction we had with them.

My husband and I stopped for a late lunch. We both ordered the Pollo Fundido & we loved it. They have very good salsa & cheese dip as well. Our waitress Jackie was the sweetest. She didn't let us run out of drinks and checked on us often. We definitely will be back.

The food was delicious, came out as ordered, hot, large portions. Waiter was prompt, very nice, patient and helpful, made sure changes in order were as requested. (Just didn’t check back on us often enough). Restaurant was clean, roomy, and restrooms were well stocked and clean also.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE. We were overcharged. Called Benavista Mexican Cantaina, I told the were overcharged on our credit card statement. I sent them a copy of the receipt and they told me that they do not use this kind of receipt. Our credit card company said it was this restuarant and it was the same phone number I had called. I am worried about my credit card being compromised.

"Fantastic dining experience! We were traveling and decided to stop here for dinner, arriving close to their closing time at 8:30 pm, just 30mins before they closed. Despite our late arrival, the staff welcomed us warmly, seated us promptly, and prepared our food quickly without sacrificing quality. The dishes were absolutely delicious! Even though they were likely ready to end their day, they never rushed us or showed any sign of impatience. Exceptional service and food – a perfect place!! Highly recommend this restaurant!

I ordered the nuggets n the fries, I ate the nuggets but the fries tasted like they were cooked in old grease. I did not eat but the one, so I asked if they could take a few dollars off my meal due to the fries nasty. AMF they said no can not do anything for them using old grease. I did eat here frequently, but my business will be some other place that actually cares about this customers.

Awesome service and a cool place to eat. Bathrooms and not what you would expect for a place that takes pride in curb and cafeteria appeal.
Margaritas are made with cheap mix. I'm sure a few others are, too. In defense, the drinks are more affordable when compared to chain sitNeat establishments.
The food is OK & pretty inexpensive.
They need to use more natural mixes and ingredients. I get the street tacos. If I compare every Mexican place I ever ate, graded on a linear scale up to 100, with 100 worst. Food and drink quality here would be >85. Service top <5. I do like eat here but would like to see it full. The only way to do that is to offer all natural drinks with a specialty "Natural Margarita". Only uses top shelf ingredients. Come to Birmingham and go to Garcia's grill. Copy what they do, but put your own touch. Garcia grill Hwy 79 Birmingham AL. Has the most authentic Mexican food outside Texas. Nothing compairs to Mexico but please make it a goal... Grade fresh hot pepers. Make a couple signature drinks and plates.

Passing thru Cullman on the way to vacation and this place was close to our hotel. We decided on an early dinner since we are on EST. First the decor! Amazing-all the way to their iron sculptures outside. Atmosphere was fun and service (Louise) was spot on. Now for the food. I got steak fajitas and it could have fed 3 people. I have never had such a large portion. Seasoned perfectly and for only $17. Wife got the soup-a small bowl for $6 that could have fed 3 as well. We don't pass thru Alabama much, but next time we do we will come back to Buenavista! Thank you

Me and my son stopped in about 7/8 lastnight got seated right away sure the service was quick but unprofessional got drinks and food and never saw the waiter again until it was time for the check. I got the 3 tacos and the meat was so greasy it made the shells soggy. We will def not be back

It's been 15 years since I've been to this restaurant. It is now in a new location with a new atmosphere and new menu. Original from Los Angeles, California, I'm used to authentic Mexican dishes. These dishes seem to cater to the Southern palette. With that being said, it was a nice change from what I remember of the old Buenavista. Dishes were all very flavorful and somewhat fresh. Muy bien.

In the past 20 years a lot of Mexican restaurants have opened in Cullman. Yes we had to give them a try. After doing so we always return to Buenavista. It looks great with high end decorations and lighting. It is clean and the food ingredients are high quality. Today Stephanie was our waitress and she did a fantastic job. My wife had the taco salad. She loves the seasoning used on the meat. I enjoyed the steak fajita quesadilla it was packed full of goodness. The ice tea was very good southern style ice tea. Yes we will be returning soon.

I came there on this past Sunday at 11 when they opened. The food was awful....very salty. Asked for the special that came with refried beans .....NO beans got buritto taco and nasty tamale smothered in what seemed like catsup. Hostess wouldnt let me sit by window then couple came tn sat by window then she let them move from window seat. Pkace was awful.....will never go there ever again!!!!!

Hadn't been there in at least 2 years. The service was quick, and the restaurant was clean. No problem or wait to get seated. I don't know if there are new owners or cooks, but if that's the best they do on taco salad with chicken. I'll pass right by there. Barely enough refried beans to cover the bottom of the taco shell, chicken was big pieces that were like boiled chicken with no flavor. The white cheese sauce was very thin. That tablespoon (barely) of guacamole was an add-on I had to pay extra for.

We were a party of 5 and we've only been in a few times. After what happened tonight we won't be back! Everything was good until our check was brought. My hubby noticed that we were overcharged and attempted to bring it to our waiter's attention. Waiter acted unprofessional so I spoke up and said it needs to be fixed. There was never any mention of making our check right! Last thought is food wasn't that good either.

This was first visit to Buenavista. There was no wait and we were asked our preference on table or booth. The decor was colorful and pleasant. There was a good assortment of menu items. Our food was served promptly, a good temperature and appetizing. We got the nachos Supreme and the Enchiladas with chicken and a side of Spanish rice. The rice was a little dry, but adding a little salsa made it right. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly.

Disappointed. Starting with salsa that just tasted like tomato juice. Entree was wrong meat and I couldn't find a server. It tasted ok, again bland with no spice, but not what I wanted. This was 2nd time I've been there recently, I gave them a pass on the poor experience the first time due to time of day or something. No improvement this time, so it's a no for me from now on.

Burrito and enchilada, with beans, for lunch. Beans looked like a ladle of gravy had been poured onto my plate. No texture at all. Burrito was the same, just full of this yucky mush. Sure wasn't as I remember. Taco Bell has this beat for much less.

Food was ok, customer service was not friendly at all. Starting with the host that gave us a terrible look as soon as we came through the door. She was not happy to sit us down at all. To then the waiter that dropped off the chips and salsa, I smiled and said thank you. He just stared at us and turned back around and left. Then our waitress seemed new she did ok but left without notice someone else just brought our check didn’t even offer to go boxes. Just terrible service that afternoon. Will not be going back.
