This is my 4th visit to this fairly new restaurant. Each time it’s been fantastic!! Cozy cantina vibe with colorful decorations. Beautiful tables, chairs, etc.
All the staff are welcoming and super friendly. Lady (Yes, that’s her real name) is the best waitress there, full stop. Period. She always remembers my Husband and I and always makes a point to say hi!! Her hair bows, pigtails, and sweet smile are all just the cherry on top of our wonderful dining experience.
The food is unbelievably delicious!! My most favorite is the combo dinner. There’s so many options to choose from!! Plus, you get a large helping of rice and beans with it.
At Èl Patrõna they give you WAY MORE food than any other Mexican restaurant in Cullman, seriously.
The Margaritãs are completely out of this world yummy!! They do not sleep on their alcohol.
We always leave very happy and very satisfied!! 10/10!!
Our new favorite place to relax and get something good to eat!!

Our waitress was great. She kept our drinks, chips and salsa filled. The steak meat in my burrito was seasoned well.
The music could of been turned down some.
The rice had a seafood-ish kind of aura to it. I know it sounds weird, but it did taste funny. The beans were okay. A little too thick and grainy. The peppers and onions were cut in various sizes. Just showed a lack of consistency.

Finally a Mexican restaurant where the food has flavor. The salsa didn’t taste like tomatoes. The food was well seasoned even the vegetables were seasoned. The service was great and the food was the best Mexican in Cullman hands down.

My husband had the taco salad and said it was really good(high praise indeed!). I had the nachos and they were delicious but too large to eat by myself. We both agree this is the best Mexican restaurant in Cullman. The decor is nice but it’s very loud. The music should be turned way down!!

Left a 5 star review the first time I came. The following 2x we have been have been… lacking at best. Rice that tastes like garlic bread and completely inedible, prices on the check that are way higher than what is on their menu, and lackluster entrees.

Newer place. Decor is nice. Place was clean. Visited 3 or 4 times so far. Seems like standard Mexican food, but it is a bit better than most. Service is always quick and friendly. Background music is there but not deafening. Kid friendly Good choice lunch or dinner.

We ate at LA Patrona today for lunch. We were a group of six. They hostess had us seated within just a few minutes. We were at a large table that comfortably sat six. The atmosphere is very nice and the restaurant is very clean. Marlen was our waitress. Marlen took our drink orders within a few minutes. She checked with us a few times about ordering. We needed a little more time to review the menu and were not rushed. She took our order very carefully. After going around the table she read each of our orders back to us to make sure everything was correct. Our food did not take long to prepare and everything came out together. The order was as we ordered and everybody was pleased with their selection. I got the combo plate and chose a taco, burrito, and an enchilada which came with rice and beans. All of my items contained ground beef which is what i requested. I thought my taco could have had a little more meat in it but everything was very good. The seasoning on everything was very good and flavorful. Our first trip was the day they opened. La Patrona successfully worked out all of the opening kinks. Yes we will be returning.

Food came out late and at different times. Kitchen staff needs better prep for surges. Wait staff needs to communicate better with patrons. Everyone is friendly. They need better table spacing for an old pizza hut. I'd go off peak hours for a better experience.

The service has been top notch across 5 visits. The spicy shrimp, camarones a la diabla, is very very good (authentic) and if you match it with a side salad and some sour cream to mix in, it is slightly less spicy; perfection... The fajitas are very good; the street corn and chilie relenos are wonderful as well.
Friendly staff and authentic flavors for a very reasonable price here.

I had the mexican street corn for my appetizer. Then the steak and shrimp. It was all so delicious! I also had a strawberry margarita top tier and the presentation 10/10, but the best part, my server Carlos, was so attentive and kind. He was clearly busy but still did an excellent job! 👏 I will recommend and will be back.

The food was great! Some of our food was delivered to the wrong table and had to be remade. Also the place could use a few less seats. It gets extremely loud when the place is busy. Other than those two complaints the place was awesome. We will definitely give this place another chance.

My wife and I arrived around 6pm and it was busy, which was a pretty good sign, but after we were seated, it all went down hill. We got waters to drink and placed our orders. Our wait for our food was average, the food below that. The Charo beans have, what looked to be, Vienna sausages cut up in them, and the rest of our meal just wasn't great. As we were trying to eat however, the waiter for the table next to us came and put their tray of food, on our table, to serve them. No, excuse me, I'm sorry, nothing. Then our very own server came to top off our half full water glasses, with drinks for onother table in her hands. She set the other drinks down beside the plates we were eating from, topped off our water, then picked up the drinks and took them to the other table. We were shocked. When we were waiting on our bill, the table beside us got up and left their plates barely touched. Ever the table busser was confused. And as we continued to wait on our bill, the waiter from before began moving chairs from a table behind us to a table in front of us, and slammed it into out table turning it sideways...again, no I'm sorry, nothing. Needless to say, tonight was our very first, and our very last, trip to La Patrona.

Loved the service, loved the food... close both sets of double doors and get the seals replaced. Put a fan out there repelling flies. Something! The minute the food was set on our table 20 flies decended on us.

For the record, my sister and her family went a few days later and said that's their new go-to for mexican.

Menu has great options you don't see everywhere else.

I have been to LA Patrona twice. The first time was very good and service was great. However it was mid afternoon. The second time service was awful. Food was "okay". I was unable to pay the check at the table and had to go inside to pay. That was not a problem however no one but me was in line. The cashier did NOT acknowledge I was standing there. She was doing something on the system. I then said "hello" and she said you have to wait. There was no one there! Needless to say, they need to work on customer service. I will think twice about going back. My advice if you go after 5pm be prepared for mediocre food and service.

Review №87

I was really excited to try the new Mexican place but from the moment my husband and I walked in that excitement quickly faded.
It wasn't busy when we arrived, but we had to wait at the door for almost 10 minutes and that was with an attendant standing at the desk playing on his phone and two servers sitting on the bench by the door just talking. After we proceeded to be seated we couldn't hear anything the server was saying bc the music was blaring, and people were talking so loud. We couldn't even have a conversation with each other and we both ended up with headaches. The salsa was good and the food was good with a generous portion size. However, service was non-existent after the food was served we sat with empty tea glasses for almost the entirety of our meal. The servers were busy talking to people they obviously knew instead of checking to see if we needed anything. For the time it took for them to renovate I would have expected to see the old cloudy, nasty pizza hut windows be replaced and for the bathroom to be updated and renovated but none of that has been done. You can eat outside IF it's not raining. I really would have liked to have seen that with a roof on it, if for no other reason than to have a place to go to get away from the blaring music, loud conversations and the banging and clanging from the kitchen. I don't expect to go back any time soon, if ever

It's quite ashame that a new place that took so long to renovate, you would think the food, service, and above all the menus would be accurate with accurate pricing. Nope, not at all, you place your order and they bring you what they think you want. Very few speak English, not that I'm knocking it, but when you ask for a simple napkin because they don't bring one when the silverware is brought out. You have to ask for everything, the food takes so long to be served, and then the quality, Taco Bell has better quality food. Sorry guys, my family will never darken these doors ever. Good luck in your endeavors.

First time here and definitely will not be our last. Food was quick for us even though there were several people in front of us in line. Was one of the best salsas that I’ve ever had. I added salt and hot sauce to give it a kick and that did the trick. Didn’t ever let the basket of chips empty before another was brought to the table. My only request is that they provide larger napkins. If they are attempting to save/cut costs, it’s not working as I used probably 10 of the “cocktail” napkins. All in all, a great new restaurant.
