Very good! My husband and I have been wanting to try for a while. Great atmosphere and five star service. Authentic steak tacos were fire! Enchiladas also very good. Chicken flauta wasn’t my favorite. All in all, great experience and would recommend. We’ll be back!

Main issue was margaritas. They tasted like virgin margaritas. We had to order extra shots to add to drinks. That gets extremely pricy. Our other got to Mexican restaurant, there is no doubt the margaritas are made correctly. Not here though. Very dissatisfied.

Great experience. The entire staff was very friendly. Liked the fact there were big screens displaying current football games. I was impressed with their Bahama Mama drink. I had Camarones a la Diabla, very spicy they way I like it although it was a bit salty. For dessert I had a flan. I would definitely visit again with family or even just the bar section to watch a game.

We love Don Carlos! Portions are plentiful, and the food is great. We've never had to wait for a table, seating is immediate. Service is fast, friendly, and my drink is always full. Bottomless chips and salsa kept coming. Clean restrooms and kid friendly! Try the fajita quesadilla with steak or chicken - they're both great! And the atmosphere is fun - sports on TV, bright colors, and low music. Great for family dinners, large parties, and celebrations!

The waitress was extremely slow. She took several minutes to come to us every time. Twice we had to go find her. It took us almost 1.5 hours to get out due to her. Food wasn't the worst but definitely had better. We will not be going back. Atmosphere and bathroom was fine.

First and foremost the service was GREAT
The food on the other hand not so much I ordered the quesabirria plate for the ones that don’t know Birria is made with goat meat not beef the consomé that came with the plate was some kind of gravy not consomé
my wife ordered the enchilada plate when she told the waiter she wanted them fajita he looked at her like if she was speaking in
tongues the enchiladas were not good they tasted like if they were out of a can

service was absolutely terrible...didn't even get silverware had to just about trip the waiter to get that ....never came back to check on is .... no refills on more chips and asked twice for napkins got 3 🤦‍♂️ and spent $70....not worth it IMO

And I take that back they did come back to the table when they brought the bill🤦‍♂️

Went here for my 21st birthday. I was so excited all day long. They checked my id, gave me my drink. I finished it asked for another and they refused to serve me because I “looked too young”. and The entire staff was walking past or staring at us from a distance. This is ridiculous, the first time I came here I did not get the best service I chose to give them a 2nd chance and they did disappoint.

My first time eating here. The restaurant was pretty empty. It was freezing, and I'm seldom cold. Our server was very nice, and fairly attentive (a few things had to be asked for twice).

I had the Diablo shrimp. It was not great. The shrimp were steamed, had no heat, the onions were a mix of sautéed and half raw. The tortillas were ok, something out of a bag, then heated up.

There should be a special app that is solely for rating chips and queso at Mexican joints!
Queso here is 5/5, chips are 3/5(needs salt).
Dinner was super fast and amazing. Fajitas were divine. Chimi was not greasy at all.

Stopped in here after a long travel day to the beach. We were able to order and get our food pretty quickly and the food was really good. They did get one of our orders wrong but still replaced it really quick (only reason for a 4 on the service). The restaurant was clean, server was nice and professional. I would recommend and eat here again if in the area.

I’ve been coming here for years and years. Last night I came with a friend and we each ordered a margarita to just hang out and talk for a bit. The server questioned our IDs at first which is understandable, gotta do your job! But proceeded to be extremely rude about it. After delivering our drinks she never checked on us. Not one time. Every time she walked past us with no smile, no comment, nothing. We asked for our checks and my friends was around $25 for a skinny large margarita. My friend put $27 down and told our server to keep the change, The server then proceeded to count the money in front of our table and said to her “Just going to explain something to you. This tip isn’t enough because I have to tip out the bar 5%. Basically I’m paying for your drink right now. You need to leave me more so I can cover that.” Little did she know I was the one taking care of the tip that night. For both me and my friend. The unprofessionalism to even question a tip is beyond me. I’ve worked in a restaurant for 6 years and yes, it’s very frustrating to not receive the tip you think you deserve (which in my opinion she didn’t even deserve 20% because the service was awful and so was her attitude) but I obviously was going to leave her at least 20% of me and my friend’s bills combined. I just can’t believe the server sat and counted the money and questioned my friend. Super disrespectful and rude! Didn’t get her name and didn’t want to talk to the manager because I didn’t want to make a scene, looking back I should have. I’ll definitely come back because the food is great and usually the other servers I’ve encountered have been great. But if I ever get sat in this server’s section I will politely asked to be moved far far away.

We stopped and ate at Don Carlos Mexican Restaurant enroute from Columbia Mississippi to Pensacola area. We spotted a Burger King that was going to do but as we pulled into the parking lot Don Carlos was right next door. My wife and I (both 70) love Mexican food so it was a no brainer going to Don Carlos. The restaurant is huge, beautiful perfect condition, lovely booths and gorgeous rest rooms. Don Carlos has a very nice lunch buffet with extremely reasonable prices. I had the two taco lunch with refried beans and Mexican rice for $9.99 while my wife had to beef enchiladas with rice and beans for 11.99. Drinks add $3.40 each. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. Oh, they also served complimentary chips and salsa that were so delicious that I almost couldn't eat my lunch. Ummmmm I will surely go again!!

This place is ideally located between a Sam's Club and the Toyota dealership where we get service done. NOTE: If you love delicious Mexican food, healthy portions, good service and excellent margaritas, you will be so happy to convelesce here. We walk here from Toyota and are so happy after a good meal, that we don't even mind the bill from Toyota! It's a Mexican food Miracle. We forget how much we spent at Sam's Club when we eat at Don Carlos. Stop thinking about it and just put this in your GPS. Seriously, you're not going to find anything better.

I used to eat here once a week with friends or family, but recently my go to order of lunch steak fajitas has been awful. They’ve switched from yellow corn tortillas to what they told me was white corn tortillas. Whatever they were, they had no corn taste at all. And the steak strips tasted as though they were prepared with a tomato paste or tomato base instead of fajita seasoning, they should not have been called steak fajitas. Maybe it was a new or inexperienced cook with no supervision, or maybe the management has stopped trying to prepare authentic Mexican dishes. In any case I will trying out one of the New Mexican restaurants in my area. And that’s sad because the wait staff at Don Carlos is simply the best.

Very enthusiastic and friendly hosts. We (3) were immediately seated. The complimentary salsa and chips arrived and our server was taking our beverage order as soon as the chips were set down on the table.
We ordered Huevos Rancheros, and Taco Salads with Ground Beef and Flan for Dessert. The food was delivered swiftly, well seasoned, fresh tasting. Our waiter was very friendly and observant. It was a good experience. The Restaurant has been updated and we enjoyed the paintings and the different colored lamp shades. Everything was very clean. And today was Cinco de Mayo and by the time we left all seats were taken. Well done.

Came here first time and fajitas were good. This time ordered chicken pablano and it was a tiny piece of chicken with a bunch of burnt veggies , margarita was supposed to be top shelf but I don't think it was didn't taste very good and I have a horrible headache today . Sons fish was tiny too and just a bunch of onions with it . There was a guy playing music on the patio Friday night that was nice . I'd give it another chance , hopefully it was just a bad night.

I went on a Sunday at about 3:45 pm . Everything was good. Got a cheese dip, and I had a taco salad with steak. Sour cream was an extra $1.50, and guacamole was an extra $2. My friend had the taco salad with ground beef (plus extra for sour cream/guac). The bill was $52!!! For 2 taco salads, a cheese dip and one tea (friend had water). Seems like wayyyyy too much to be spending for what we got. In no way was the food worth $52. I could see $30. So, lesson learned. I need to go during lunch to see the prices then, but for now, Don Carlos is off the rotation list.

Same menu and ingredients as El Rancho on Hwy 98 in Daphne and the as-yet-unopened Mexican restaurant on Eastern Shore Blvd in Spanish Fort. Fortunately, this restaurant hasn't adopted the uncomfortably tall mis-matched table and booths of the Daphne restaurant.

The food and drink are consistently good for an Americanized Mexican food palette. It is all pretty "safe" and not very adventurous. The wait staff is consistently pretty good despite the language barrier and the food always comes out suspiciously fast and always hot.

Some of the table runners' parents didn't provide that ever-important advice that "less is more" where cologne is concerned. With my back to the table runner, I smelled the guy's musky cologne from 10 paces away. Trying to decide which tequila pairs well with overindulged musky cologne is sub optimal.

They recently stopped providing hot sauces at the table which is annoying because their salsa needs extra heat to graduate from good to great.

My family really enjoys this place. I always order the guacamole, it's fresh and delicious. There's an own my husband enjoys called Mocajete, he highly recommends that for the hungry hard worker after a long day. My children enjoy the tacos.

The Fiesta Grill is the best meal in daphne. A butterflied chicken breast, flank steak, chorizo and spanish rice over a bed of onions. All for $18. Great service, nice family owed business, great people. Authentic!

Most definitely ask for Emanuel when visiting. You’ll be treated like a king/queen with attentive but not overbearing service.

He was on top of it! Orders promptly taken and served up quickly on a busy Friday night hot and delicious!
If this dude isn’t some kind of manager, he should be! He’s the type of person that you want representing your business.

I’d give him 10 stars, but Google only allows 5.

Don Carlos is one of my favorite restaurants. The staff is welcoming, and servers are happy to please. I always make adjustments to my meal by minimizing spices and oil, and what I receive is exactly what I order. I enjoy taking friends who have not been there before, and they are complimentary. Prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is great.

So the food was decent close enough to authentic Mexican you can get in daphne however for the one star review would be the service. Took my aunt there to eat last Saturday and the server we had was meh my drink was mostly ice and empty for most of my stay. Now here is the real reason for the one star we had two separate bills, one for our food and one for her margarita she covered the tip on her bill and i coverd the main course ,well the server previously mentioned charged me a 10 dollar tip when I left 0 for a tip and my aunt put 11 dollars down on the other bill so incase you don't mind the servers charging their own tip instead

The food was really great! The service was good with only a bit of a delay in getting a to go box due to our waiter being very busy. I had the chicken, steak, & shrimp fajitas which was enough for my daughter and I to share. It was all so good we ate too much! One of my other daughters got the fish & she said it was excellent. My other daughter got a combo platter that she said was very good also! We were all pleased & glad we chose this restaurant!

Is usually good but we visited on Jan 15. The chips arrived shiny and soaked in oil. My taco from the combo plate was floating in oil so bad the shell fell apart. Lastly, even though you pay $3.19 for a sofa with refills the server never came around to check if our group needed more drink refills. Very disappointed this visit and hope it was just a fluke.

I visited the day after Christmas, 2023. Here is my experience:

I ordered the Spicy Margarita (medium size), the shrimp soft tacos with rice as my side, and an additional side order of sour cream.

The margarita was nicely spiced with jalapeño, but it was very watered down with very little "margarita" taste...it was mostly lime flavored water.
The shrimp soft tacos had a nice taste, with a generous amount of shrimp.
The side of rice arrived cold.
The side of sour cream was an up charge ($1.25). Fair enough. I receive a small red dish with approximately 1 tablespoon of sour cream. Unacceptable.
My server never returned after the food arrived to check up on me.
There was a manager wandering around trying to look busy, but he didn't seem to be engaged or accomplishing anything.

So, overall, I won't be returning.

Went in and were immediately greeted and shown to a seat, waiter showed up just a moment later to get drink and appetizer order, about 1 minute later drinks and appetizers were brought and order was taken. Waiter checked back with us often, brought food quickly. Food was excellent in quality and taste with good size portions and prices were very fair. We will return.

Delicious as always. I had my favorite well, one of many, three taco meal.
With all the chips and salsa they give you as you are waiting to order or waiting on you meal this fills me up with 3 soft or had she'll, choice of chicken or beef tacos. My husband had Ceviche and loved it. Big servings and great service. Can't beat Don Carlos Mexican Restaurant for delicious food and drink. Another plus is Don Carlos is close to our home!!!

We made a reservation for 10 and showed up with 17 and they accommodated us with three tables close together. We had a server and helper who were very organized and handled 11 separate checks!! Food was great!! Definitely would recommend Don Carlos for any size group!! Sorry, no pics of food!!

Food had little flavor. My grandaughter ordered a childs pizza, dough was still raw. Our server brought our food and never came back to our table. We had to ask the host to get him. Then he sent someone else with the ticket when he found out there were issues. Very sad poor service.

Very good mini-chini for lunch today.
Filling without being too much.
Light cloud today, no wait to be seated or for the food.

My food was amazing! It's a bit pricey for my budget, but I did not regret it 1bit. The inside design was lovely. I do feel like the table and benches were crammed together. Also, I went alone after working construction all day and I had to wait at least 3 min to get a host to come to the front to seat me. I was looking ragged but still....

So close to a 5 star review across the board. The service was fantastic 👏 Adan was charming and gracious. Such a gentleman 👔
The atmosphere was warm and inviting.
The food was very good. Just needed a little more seasoning. 🧂 😋
The drink 🍸 tasted like "more please!"

Food wasn't as ordered. Meal was brought to table in pieces. Asked for lime for fajitas was never brought. No napkins. Everything was rationed. Poor service, poor quality. However saving grace. Manager at the end did bring fresh fajitas for home still left out the lime.

The sign says Armando is in charge. We just walked out. The host was more interested in walking around than checking his station. We waited at least 3 minutes before I called. When the phone rang he looked up to notice us. When he finally did seat us the table was filthy so we left.

Horrible customer service. The hostess wasn’t present. My party and I waited for 7 minutes and headed to the bar. The bartender never acknowledged us. We sat there for 15 minutes. After we realized no one cared, we chose to depart. This was on Friday, September 8th around 8:45pm.
