My boyfriend and his sister, who are local here, brought me here for my first visit to this town. We shared one large nacho plate for 3, which was already big enough to enjoy 😊

If I could give this place more stars, I would! Not only is the food phenomenal, but the service was exceptional!

We are visiting family here and decided on this because we have 2 small kids. We ordered the family meal. 4 grown women and 2 small kids under 3, plenty of food. It was so good! Everything you could need was included except lettuce. But we asked for some and got it. We even had leftovers! Everyone was super friendly!!

Wow! This place was really good. The door greeter was awesome! He explained the menu and was very hospitable. The tacos were phenomenal. 100% recommend.

Service was great, food was great (a little expensive but really good) - the nachos were huge (we could have shared them since they warned us, but we opted for leftovers), dining inside or on the patio was nice and clean. The team helped clear our table which was nice. Overall a great experience and would recommend!

I love the vibe of this place. I've now tried it twice before leaving a review and I've been disappointed both times. The food Is very bland. There is no flavor and it's quite pricey. I get more flavor from chipotle. I want to love this place but I don't think I will be back

Food was pretty good, I had really good food and my girlfriends was decent. BUT the price was atrocious 50 for two taco plates and 2 sodas, ok amount of food with the plate but not $50 worth service is good everyone was nice but there was like 10 people working so maybe that's why it was expensive

My visit on 10/18/2024 was not so good. Drinks were great, chips and various dips were great, but my burrito was awful. I think it was cooked hours before I got there and left under a heat lamp. It definitely was not fresh!

GREAT place to eat, but future employees BEWARE - even if you have to quit amicably for any reason, you run the risk of being actively ignored/dehumanized the next time you go in for food or drinks, even with friends. Basically a warning to not work here if you like the food and don’t plan on spending the rest of your life here!

I really like their fresh green tomatillo salsa. Just needed to add a little extra salt. It has a slight kick. I like anything that’s spicy. Service was very pleasant. We sat outside and ate fairly late. It was already dark. Place was packed on a Friday evening.

As of today, I’ve tried all three locations. Food is exceptional across the board however the service at this Daphne location can NOT be beat. Glenn is an absolute delight. Joel (mgr) is super personable & it’s obvious that he has great leadership skills. We WILL be driving the extra distance to visit this location from here on out.

The manager is great we went In to support the toros because taco mama always helps the community and our burrito and my wife’s had tough rice in it we hate complaining but we were hungry after a ten hour road trip home they fixed it so fast and gave us more queso made our night they do a great job

From Employees who drink in their vehicles on their breaks to the absolute blatant trash talking about customers, that you can clearly hear since the kitchen is right by the register.

Do they think we can't hear what they are saying about some of the customers? It might not have been directed towards me. But it was so direct towards another customer that I'm surprised they didn't say something for themselves. They let their employees talk however they want clearly, and I'm not sure if it was a manager or an expo person, but all they could do was laugh and contribute. Very unfortunate because our server was so sweet, if you can really even call them servers, lol. They kind of just check on you once or twice during your stay.

Now, to address the employee drinking in the parking lot. I couldn't find any parking in the front and had to park near the back, which is now obvious that I was by the employees back entrance. I will not give the specifics of the vehicle or description of the person , but it really is sad to see. I've had some good food by a chef at Waffle House who clearly got back from smoking. But this isn't a waffle house, and it is just sloppy. The service straight up left a bad taste in my mouth, so the food tasted like It's low-grade Chipotle or Moe's. The food was very fresh, but barely even seasoned to call it some sort of mexican food. I guess the margaritas are good enough to keep people quiet about the subpar service and food. Would love to communicate this further with anybody at the Taco Mama facility.

Quality service is expected from quality restaurants. I hope this was just a one-time thing. I love normal family dinners here.

First time at a Taco Mama while traveling—very pleasantly surprised. Among other taco chains, it’s better than Fuzzy’s or Torchy’s! Sizzling steak taco and grilled flounder taco were excellent: not dry or soaked with sauce. The barbacoa was slightly dry but still tasty. Can’t wait to find another location!

Once I asked for a Pomegranate Marg with Vodka instead of Tequila. They did it- normal $12 drink.
Next visit, asked for the same. They charged me $12 for the drink and $10 for the vodka. They refunded the $10
Today I asked for the same thing, they charged me $12 for the drink, $3 for premium tequila. Told them I didn’t order that, I just replaced the tequila with vodka. They said it was the same upcharge. Really!? $12 for a drink with a shot of tequila. But $15 if you use vodka?!?!
On top of that it didn’t taste right. Had someone taste it and yep- it was tequila anyway. Didn’t drink it and won’t go back.

Love our local Taco Mama's! Always a joy to frequent. Staff is always welcoming, and friendly.

I echo the sentiment that the nachos are amazing, yet, it is the Fat Boy Burrito that has become my go-to! In it itself is a meal and then some.

I suggest this location for everything to just hanging out enjoying the company of friends, to a take-out order at lunch time.

The food is really good. Rather quick service. So if you are in a hurry, be aware. This is a place to relax and enjoy. Pet friendly due to outside seating. They bring water to your pup. It was very nice to find a place where we could go with our dog.

I enjoyed the layout and design of the building. Very chill vibes and would be a nice hangout spot. The food was just ok. The tacos were pretty bland, lacking any proper seasoning. But it was nice you could add whatever and as many toppings to your tacos for no extra charge. Hot sauce helped add a little flavor, at least. I would try them again since the staff was friendly and very helpful when making a decision for our first visit.

Holyyy.. decided to walk in and grab a taco to try them out and there was only one person in line ahead of me so why not. Well I ended up leaving after 10 mins of waiting for the one person ahead of me. There were multiple cash registers available and employees (by the way, all who looked like they had no idea what was going on, as well as the women all while wearing the tightest of clothes they apparently can get away with) just walking by. Not caring. If the food is good must be nice. I didn’t get any. This is a family restaurant?

Don't waste your money. We paid $49 for two big clients(barbacoa burritos) and a kids beef and cheese nacho. The food was disgusting. The barbacoa was anything but tender. It was long stringy gross meat thay wasn't good. There was no season at all. The burrito was juicy and soggy. The cheese was cold and not melted. I'm not sure what they are going for but they didn't exceed any expectations. Dollar general alpo would have way been better. Don't eat there.

My rice was hard and my steak taco was mostly beans and the steak was fatty and not good quality wasn't good at all and cost 20$ for a burrito and drink

Delicious! Depending on traffic, it may take a bit to order, but that's in part thanks to how custom you can make each dish, so it's worth it. Service is extremely quick once you place your order. The burrito bowl is my absolute favorite with the sheer number of sides you can add to the top. I also haven't had a bad margarita yet. The one pictured is the pomegranant margarita 🍹. The music is always good, perfect volume. And the Burrito bowl is large enough to have leftovers for another day or two! I love coming here with my friends ❤️. What more could ya want?

Shout out to the fellow foodie we met in line at Taco Mama in Daphne today! First time visiting the restaurant. The person we met told us they recommended the nachos and we could get all the toppings we wanted. The nachos was perfect to split and delicious! I loved the Houdini Frozen margarita too. The staff was welcoming and very friendly. Worth the 20 minute wait in line. Kid friendly restaurant with inside & outside seating. By far the best Mexican food we’ve had here and we’ve tried all the popular ones!

My family and I eat at Taco Mama in Daphne seriously once every week. When my mom and stepdad come down, it’s our first stop! The food is always consistently good as well as the service! Today just was a different day where it was so amazing I felt the need to tell the manager it was 5STARS! I had my 11 month old and my 6 years old and everyone was just genuinely nice, patient, and kind! We already were going back, but I wanted others to know how amazing of an experience we had and how proud I am of this place (I have several former students who work here and they do amazing! And it’s always lovely to see them!) keep it up gang and the Hunts will be back next week! Thanks again!

Service was not good. I told my husband I would text him my order while I went to the table. When he went to place our orders, he didn’t look at his phone because the server said she would go to the table and get my order. She never did until everyone got their food. I was so fed up that I went in and ordered the food by myself. My husband and his father ordered a burrito that was cold. They got their replacements before I got my food. The only reason I’m giving it 3 stars the food was good (even after my husband and his father had the food warmed up).

Wanted to love it, but just did NOT. It reminded me of the food lines at a theme park eatery. We also ended up spending the same amount that we would have spent at a nicer table-service Mexican restaurant (including leaving a 10 tip during ordering!) - but the experience & overall value was subpar in comparison! My husband got a 'Fat Boy Burrito' and said it was basically loaded down with beans and only a few slivers of beef... his first bite was just a mouthful of beans. They put cilantro (which I hate and didn't ask for) on my soft tacos. There were many other issues I had with this place too, but it's not worth it to go into everything. Some people really do seem to love the place... Guess you just need to go and form your own opinion. But we were *99% unimpressed* and will not be returning. Staff was polite though. To each their own, but I say it's way overpriced for what you get.

Had the Mayor taco combo. That was 2 chicken tacos and a side ( I chose refried beans) got one with flour tortilla and one corn. The chicken was tender and very delicious. It wasn't dry, but was moist ( unlike mine at home! ) the refried beans were smooth and delicious. Chips and fresh salsa come also. The chips were thin and crispy, just like I prefer. Also ordered a blood orange margarita, which the nice person at the register recommended. She was spot on as it was excellent!

The only downer was we didn't experience a server. It's an order at the counter kind of place and they bring out the food to you.

On our way home from Mobile to Florida looking for a Mexican restaurant for lunch, we noticed this place and almost passed it by. That would have been a HUGE mistake. From the darling, friendly and helpful greeter to the recycled compostable bowls, it was an utterly delightful lunch experience. I had the steak taco's (with a huge list of optional free toppings), chorizo refritos, chips and salsa (spicy and fresh), and my wife ordered a vegie bowl. Food came quickly despite the lunch rush and was some of the best Mexican cuisine we've experienced in a while. Looking forward to our next visit and trying some of their other award winning dishes.

AGM Bubba is a true hospitality guy. He’s running this place great. My home Taco Mama is in Tuscaloosa on campus. It’s been 6 years since I’ve graduated so I had to stop at the nearest one on my way home to Florida. Best detour of this very long road trip. I would eat here every day if I could. Every single thing we tried was freaking amazing. From the tacos to the chips/salsa/guac to the margaritas. There was better shrimp on their tacos than anything I've found in many years throughout the gulf area. The service staff was all super friendly and on top of absolutely everything, which was so refreshing given the state of things lately. This place shows that a restaurant doesn't have to be horrible right now if managed correctly with good people!

Great place to get actual fresh tasting and well seasoned tacos and burritos. We were burnt out on other Mexican restaurants that felt like they were using days old ingredients and the bland tasting food of the bigger chain burrito joints. I am glad we found this place. While the food is pretty tasty, the prices can seem somewhat high for what you get - the burritos are noticeably smaller than Chipotle/Moe's and an order of tacos are two average size tacos. You do get a very large portion of chips and salsa. It is a nice atmosphere inside, although it can get quite loud inside and be very hard to talk without yelling. To avoid confusion on your first visit like us, you may have a waiter offer to open a drink tab while standing in line to order. You can place your food order on that drink tab. If you order a fountain drink, it's self-service and cups are next to the fountain machine. Overall, a pretty good place and we will definitely be back...just maybe not at primetime on a Friday.

The quality of food is starting to decrease. I ran restaurants for seventeen years and it’s become evident. Over the last year since they opened I’ve gotten the Fat Boy steak burrito every time and it went from a delicious chock full of juicy steak burrito to a sub par grade, sparse of meat, bean and rice burrito. If product is getting too expensive, raise your prices, don’t lose quality.

Food was okay the chips were stale, and I paid $4 for salsa and sour cream because they gave me the impression they didn’t come with our meals, but they did so I paid for extra, basically to throw it in the trash. Did not try the margaritas but they looked great!

SEAR THE TUNA!!! The food is good, service is wonderful. But MY GOD, do not put a raw cold piece of tuna with rub on it, on a cold flour tortilla! This would have been so much better with a sear on it, served in a hot tortilla. Bizarre

I'm a frequent patron of Moe's Southwest Grill, and Taco Mama was recommended to me by a friend, so on my way home from work, I decided to try it out.

Unfortunately, considering the cost of the food, I was unimpressed.

To start off, the dining area is dimly lit, and the menu is written on chalkboards above you, and when combined with the bad handwriting on the chalkboards, means you should consider having the menu from their website already pulled up on your phone so that you can order quickly. Also, there is loud rock music playing in the dining area, which got on my nerves after a few minutes.

I ordered a Build Your Own steak burrito with a side of queso, and the size of the burrito was quite small compared to a Moe's burrito. It was lukewarm, which is not good, and the cheese was still cold, and having cold cheese in a lukewarm burrito is a no-no. The queso was rather bland and didn't have any distinguishing flavor to it; it tasted like the queso that you buy at the grocery store and put in your microwave. The salsa was watery and bland, and also tasted like something that came from the grocery store.

Some of these things can be forgiven if the meal was relatively inexpensive, say $7-$11, but my meal was over $15, and I didn't order a drink. That's about $6 more than an equivalent Moe's burrito, which is superior, and they give you almost twice the amount of food!

In the end, Taco Mama doesn't compare to Moe's Southwest Grill and other restaurants, such as Chipotle, Hot Head Burritos, Cactus Cantina, and Cafe Del Rio, all of which are cheaper, and give you more food that's better than Taco Mama. This restaurant is a fail, and I won't be returning.

The staff was great! The food is pretty good. My only complaints would be my tacos were only half full and it's pretty pricey.

Called three times to place Togo order hung up on 3 times tried calling back one time guy who answered asked me to hold so I said sure well guess what he hung up on me! You have completely lost my families business but apparently doesn’t matter cause you obviously do not need my business!!!!

My family of 5 has been twice. I like it, but it’s overpriced. The generous piles of delicious chips can easily obscure the overall small size of the meal relative to what you pay. My shrimp taco was good, but after one of my kids stole a shrimp from it before I started to eat, I was left with 2 shrimp. The side was in a little cup, so, everything just seems small. I welcome all Mexican restaurants that have good fresh ingredients and delicious combinations of flavors so, they get marks for that. Much preferred over the stereotypical Mexican-American food with wide flat plates of thin pools of beans and rice etc. But let’s be a bit more generous with the servings at this price.

Went there on Saturday, the line was already long but they managed it pretty fast so it was only around 10 mins in the line. I went to the restroom and food was already on the table when I came back. It was super fast! I had a Taco bowl. Food was okay but it couldn’t fill me up.

What a unique little place. You order before you sit. Your given a number and a server brings the food to your table. The menu is very large with many options. The food is always outstanding. You can sit inside or outside and hand sanitizer is on every table.

Okay so I've tried this place once I probably will not be going back I got tacos and it only came with two tacos which were small and a lot of chips which weren't that great for the price of the food compared to the taste of the food I would say.

Plus we asked for cheesy nachos for my son and ended up with chicken nachos or something like that which I was not happy about because they are not cheap even all the kids menu. Now there was a gentleman who overheard me say that this is not what we ordered. Which in response he of course said that he could get it replaced and I said no just get us some cheese to put on top of it and will be fine it was not something I wanted to sit there and wait on since we had a very eventful day planned.

So the customer service is really good even the lady at the cash register went over the menu with us detail by detail but the customer service is not what I'm rating here....
The margaritas were decent.

It's the amount of food and the taste of the food compared to the price of the food

On a very tight budget, which means we don't eat out that much, we're probably not going back there.

Fun place with great food. The tortilla chips are so light and crispy. Good salsa and queso. A large variety of dishes to choose from our create your own anything! Plus all kinds of margaritas!

This chain was obviously inspired by Taco Bell. If you want an actual taco, look for a food truck that can grill corn tortillas, provide carnitas and al pastor, none of which is available here.
