Great food, good atmosphere, and well worth the visit. But, and this is a big butt, the waiter mixed up my to go order, and I didn’t realize it until I got home. when I returned to pick up the correct item, they made me pay the difference. Sad when the service leaves you with a sour taste but the food is good. If not for the bad taste, I would happily go back and recommend this place to others. But as it stands…

Passing through and found this place to be very inviting. We sat down and was quickly greeted with warm chips and salsa. They have a vast menu but the lunch menu was what I was looking for. Plenty of choices and very reasonable prices. The staff was kind and helpful. The food came out hot and ready. This is a quaint local restaurant that was a joy to stop and eat at. Would eat here again.

The atmosphere was dark and dinghy and the service was not very servicing. Now on the food side, okay at best and that was steak fajitas I had. Plenty of onions and peppers to look like a mound of delight until you start looking for the steak. Shredded is what the meat was and I hope it improves quickly or it'll be a chicken joint soon.

Overall my family and I really enjoy this place. The food is really good and the service is acceptable. The only issue I take with them is their massive price increases. Texas Fajitas for 2 used to be around $18, now they are $26. I know times are hard and everyone is struggling but I just don’t see a 45% increase in their prices being reasonable.

EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE! The food was okay. If I could give a 0 for service.i would .
These prices DO NOT REFLECT THE REAL PRICES. We went at lunch, and everything we had was $14. 95. We had to beg for our drinks, no service after that and once I paid the bill, they tried to bll me again.

It really pains me to say it, but unfortunately, my once beloved local El Patron has picked up the same deceptive practices as its sister location in Prattville.

Everyone who has been to a Mexican restaurant already knows that if you take the bait on the cheese dip and/or guacamole dip, it's gonna cost you an arm and a leg, but now they have a new tactic. Order a chicken quesadilla and you may be asked by the server, "shredded or grilled chicken?" What they don't bother to tell you is that shredded chicken is the default, no cost added option and grilled chicken is going to tack on a few dollars. Order a taco salad and they'll rattle off a few things that come with a taco salad, like sour cream, for example. Then, they mix in something that doesn't come with it, like guacamole, and like with the chicken, they don't bother to mention that it's going to cost you a few extra dollars. All they need from you is a "yes" or "ok". On multiple occasions, we have also been charged for a single refill on the small bowl of salsa.

I've eaten at tons of Mexican restaurants and the only two ones I've ever had this happen is at the El Patron in Prattville and the El Patron in Slapout. Coincidence? I don't think so. This is coming from the top.

They have also gone WAY up on prices, nearly doubling the cost of many menu items from just a couple of years ago. Sure, everyone has gone up on prices because of inflation, but not as much as El Patron. We will be driving to Wetumpka or Millbrook where there are much more affordable options for Mexican food...and without the deception.

They got my to go order wrong then they just pick out ingredients that I am allergic to I'm at the ER because they were careless and lazy I am gonna sue them they messed up my order and now I am hospitalized because they didn't want to remake it you will be hearing from my lawyer 😒

Cute restaurant and it was our first time trying this location. We always order from the Wetumpka location and service has only been the best so far in Wetumpka. Unfortunately, our to go order experience at this location in Deatsville was not the best. The food was EXTREMELY salty ( I think it was a mistake) … but so much so that I could not eat much if it, and they forgot part of our to go order . By the time we got home it was too much of a hassle to drive back to pick up the missing food. I called and told the restaurant of the missing food, they promptly apologized. They also said whenever we stop back by they will replace the missing food free of charge. I didn’t get a chance to tell them about the salty food because I tasted it after I called about the missing food. However, we will stick to the Wetumpka location from now on.

Overall a pretty good experience. More Authentic Mexican style cuisine than some others but also more expensive than most other Mexican restaurants that I've been to. Staff seemed friendly enough but also slightly annoyed.

This was pretty good little place in Deatsville. The food was good and the staff was decent. The young lady that brought us our checks was so super sweet and personable. The only thing I can say is that there are several places that really need to be repaired within the restaurant. Other than that, it was fantastic!

The food and service are great, but I ordered a Chile relleno one time, and it had chicken I'm ot and it was amazing. I can't find it on theenu to order it again bc I don't request ridiculous things like slow cooking chicken in a pepper for an hour JUST for me. Stupid. But you should.put them on the menu, I'm case I'm NOT just blind, because it was amazing.

I order pollo loco with extra cheese and extra rice everytime, I always have to check to make sure it is correct. Today as usual I pick it up ask if my order is correct they say yes I always look at my order before I leave threw the clear top. I said to the girl there is not extra cheese on this, 3x, I asked for more cheese and was continually told there was enough cheese. She gave me attitude and rolled her eyes till she finally gave me a half cup of cheese. I get home and there is absolutely no cheese on my order and now all I have is the half full small cup of cheese BAD BUSINESS I will gladly tell my friends to go elsewhere. RIDICULOUS!

Every time we visit Slapout we take my Daughter in law and Grand Daughters to El Patron. The food is always delicious with great service. My favorite item is #52, the Mexican Shrimp Cocktail! The shrimp are huge and plentiful. Highest recommendation of any Mexican restaurant in Central AL!
