My husband and I enjoyed the food. However no one else was dining when we went around 4PM. It seemed like the people that stopped by mainly got to go orders. We ordered the chips and salsa and a small bowl of cheese dip. Then he ordered the combination plate. I ordered the chicken burritos. We got 1 Dr Pepper and 1 Unsweet Tea. Total of our order was $41.00.

Expensive, food below average, service not great, and charge you extra for every little thing. Including $.55 just for a go cup. Daughter and I ate there for $36. No itemized receipt to see how you are charged. Google had higher ratings and one $. Learned our lesson. Hopefully just had a bad day.

In my opinion the best Mexican restaurant in Decatur AL love the fact that if you want your own idea for your plate they will do it fast and friendly.
Shrimp with green salsa and rice and beans was delicious 😋 THIS IS MY OWN EXPERIENCE

Excellent Mexican food, you order at counter. I had a chicken tamale with rice and beans, and chicken and beef taco's. Beef was a little greasy for my liking but I ate it all anyway! Friendly staff and clean inside.

Excellent Mexican food i go as often as i can. I live in Trinity but work in Athens and am not always able to make it while they are open i really wish they were open on the weekends so i could eat Rio Grand More often

Wow, the best Fajitas ... The best tasting Mexican food that I have ever had. A low key family restaurant but the quality of the food was amazing and the amount of food enough for two. Highly recommended!

My wife and I lived in AZ for 23 years. When we moved to Decatur we tried to find a Mexican restaurant on par with what we enjoyed in Phoenix. We tried almost every Mexican restaurant in town and had been disappointed until I stopped at Rio Grande for lunch. This is the real deal...the food is excellent and the prices are more than fair. The salsa is homemade and probably some of the best I've ever had. Portions are just right. The place is pretty simple, the staff are friendly and service is quick. Definitely give it a try.

I lived in Mexico for 3 years and I love the Mexican food, but Mexican restaurants in the US are usually disappointing - not this one! I stayed at Marriott and decided to try this one. The food was exceptionally good! I ate Chimichanga El Rode and Sopapilla with Ice Cream. It was a bit to much for one person, but it tasted fantastic.
Next time I'm in Decatur, I will definitely get my lunches and dinners from them. I will also check if they offer breakfasts. If they do I bet they will beat Marriott's in terms of quality by a wide margin, let alone the cost.

It just amazes me that folks book "prestigious restaurants" and pay thru the roof, while in this little restaurant you can get a much better tasting food and for a lot lower price. Well, if it's not food, but the atmosphere that counts when you want to eat, it's a different story :)
