Decatur's Al hidden gem....very very good food, pricing is right taste and quality is just mouthwatering 🤤.....I'm definitely hooked 5 days and counting...truckers nearby should definitely try it out. Carne Asada and Bbq chicken is awesome!

Excellent food and very authentic. It's definitely a hole in the wall, But the chicken tacos are very flavorful. If you see the smoke billowing off of highway 20 make sure you stop for some amazing food. The owners younger son had to translate, but the food was so good you couldn't care less.

Their parking lot has holes and the restaurant isn't fancy looking, but slap my face cheeks for doubting their chicken tacos were gonna suck. I am going to have cravings for that wood-smoked chicken meat they make. Spent less than 10 bucks for 4 tacos (2 chicken 2 steak) that had meat spilling from the tortilla when trying to close it for a big bite. 🤤

Everything we ate was amazing! I got the mole, and the chicken had so much flavor. I'll definitely be coming back for more. Only downside is the building doesn't have A/C, so it was pretty warm when we were there in the middle of summer.

Like someone else said if you see the smoke billowing from Hwy 20 then definitely stop by for some amazing food. Very Authentic. I had the chicken taquitos and my husband had a Torta Chicken sandwich. Everything was fresh and delicious.
We were pleasantly surprised. Don't judge a book by its cover. Stop by. You won't regret it.

Stopped in at Lunch to try. Food was good and authentic. Tried Tacos and rice and beans. Will definitely come back to try other menu items. Only negative and I didnt count this in the ratings, is no napkins etc on tables. Had to use rest room to wash / wipe hands.

The food was really good. I got a torta de Asada and my girlfriend got the Asada plate. Both were really good and well cooked. They cooked it pretty quick too and service is nice.

If you want authentic tacos... Go here. Maybe the best smoked chicken I've ever had in my life. Usually can stuff my face and get out of there under 20 bucks. I usually get between 5-7 tacos with a variety of meats. The smoked chicken. Plate is also really good.

Great food but every time I come here half of the menu can’t be ordered including the choice of meats. Example. Last two times I’ve stopped in (two weeks apart) I couldn’t order Carne asade sopes. First time the only thing I was allowed to order was chicken tortillas. No matter how good the chicken is, when you have a craving, you have a craving.

The Quesadilla Pork with Rice & Beans plus Sweet Tea & Cherry Italian Ice was all good for my taste of my experience but the restroom was not with no paper towels, no toilet paper, & the men's restroom door lock is busted & it won't locked cause the door can open with the locked on so not good.

Don't be fooled by the humble gas station vibe of this roadside restaurant and its interior. The little abuelita inside is making food that is some of the best mexican in North Alabama. The carne asada and pollo asado tacos are excellent, and the salsa that goes with is fresh and flavorful.

If you go on a weekday at lunch, be prepared to wait in line behind the busy work crowd, but it is worth it. Parking situation is every car for itself.

We got 2 Barbacoa burritos, 5 barbacao tacos, and honemade pork skins. Their barbacoa has sooo much flavor and fresh! I highly recommend if you're passing through and want authentic Mexican food. We ate all tacos before we made 5 miles down the road lol I ate the rest of my burrito for breakfast the next day (this morning) it was just as good if not better!!! It was not dry like most tex mex restaurants left overs lol HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Best in all America or Huntsville/Decatur area? Ummm maybe not, but the food was tasty and well prepared. I had the carne asada and it was delicious. Aside from the fact that I hardly got any beans at all, the entire plate was good and fresh. Albeit a bit on the pricey side. Location is a bit shady, but once you get past that you’re in like flint. Family owned and operated. Instead of hearing blasted Mexican music you are treated to Barney, who loves who, as it seems that the children of the workers are also on site. No biggie. Physical location could use a good cleaning especially the toilets. The star of the show was the fresh, home made mango juice. WOW! Solid 4 1/2 Stars.

This is my go to Mexican restaurant. The best in Decatur. Reminds me of being back home in Southern Texas. They are always very friendly and very helpful. The food is very good, they have real aqua fresca. (The best is watermelon) The make homemade tortillas that's served daily. I would highly recommend this place.

Small family run taqueria with some of the best Mexican food I have had in Decatur. I eat here at least 2-3 times a week and it's like getting a home cooked meal every time.

Go here. Legit Taqueria. I’ll summarize our experience in this example: excellent Salsa Verde, classic, on point. Salsa Roja (thick red, ground spices, excellent heat and flavor). Anyone would clearly expect the Roja to be the hottest thing on the table. It turns out the plain Barbacoa taco was the hottest. On a heat scale of 1-5, the Verde was a 2-3, Roja was a 4-5 and the Barbacoa taco was a 7.5. Fantastically authentic, would recommend, 11/10. If you can go on Fri/Sat/Sun you can get grilled chicken, sadly it was a Monday so instead we got everything else.

Usually when you see a worn out standalone building that looks like it's been a restaurant for decades, it's a sure fire sign of great food inside.

Not this time.

To begin with, there was no menu with pricing. Just a picture board where you point at your selection.

They were out of several ingredients and couldn't put cream sauce on my chicken enchiladas.

After my overly spiced meal was over they brought out a check for $23. I felt like I was actually in Mexico and had just been pulled over by the police.

You can't win them all.

Upon entering this restaurant i notice it was very hot inside. the A/C was broken down. I didnt think anything of it so i ordered some Tacos de pastor (pork) well when i got my tacos the meat taste old and the tortillas had a weird flavor to them. My mom ordered mole with rice and beans and his rice taste like as if it was 2 days old as well as the beans had a stale like taste. i am very dissapointed because i have ate here before and it was delicious! Long story short this food was not fresh and tasty. i left all my tacos there it was a waste of money!
el carne de pastor estaba dura, el arroz estaba pura maza, frijoles no estaban frescos. todo era un disastre la comida estaba recalentada y la verdad esqueroso. no lo recomiendo. si podia dar zero estrellas lo haria.

Servicio de la mujer que anda tomando las ordenes pésimo. El lugar se mira sucio. Y un montón de chamacos en la cocina lo que hace mirar ese lugar antihigiénico. Me dio asco nada más de pensar que las cocineras anden cambiando el pañal o limpiando los mocos a los hijos que allí llevan y no se laven las manos al preparar la comida. Se supone que es un lugar de venta de comida deberían de ser más higiénicos.

You won't find a more pleasant, satisfying, reasonably priced, true Mexican plate of food north of the border. Everyone knows the best things come the least likely places. Don't be fooled by the building. You will be very happy when you leave here. And you will be back. There's magic in the kitchen.

9 months later, Dad is always asking me to find a place with tacos like we had in Decatur. His memory isn't great anymore, but he remembers those tacos!

Tacos were on soggy tortillas and did not taste good. Three groups came in and ordered after us and all of them got their food before we did and we all known why... Service was unbelievably bad over the course of our lunch hour every person that got up left their tables dirty and not one of them were clean with more customers in line waiting to order a nowhere to sit.

The last time I had a really good authentic taco that was grilled beef or pork and spiced with some really good chili sauce was in Chicago.

I'm telling you in Alabama or anywhere metropolitan City you can really find a plethora of Mexican restaurants that have tacos.

However if you want a really really good taco with authentic chili sauce which doesn't taste watered down or like salsa you need to go here.

The environment is just a humble small store with a kitchen that it makes restaurant quick fast food for people and it is a family-owned apparently and it's just really really good.

I ordered the El Paso tacos and I also ordered the steak tacos and both of them came with cilantro onions green sauce and chili sauce and lime.

Should I have posted a picture of this I suppose I could have but it wouldn't have helped anybody it's all in the flavor and it's all in the taste and I'm telling you when you bite into a taco that is delicious and satisfying and not dried out or overcooked this is the place.

Enjoyed the fresh waters ( horchata, Jamaica) tacos were decent. Not fond of their hot sauce but it will do for a quick bite. I would come back to pick up a Togo if I'm around the area.
