Food was delicious and quick to come out, they're salsa is by far my favorite in Decatur.
Everyone here is super friendly, service was fantastic I definitely recommend the lunch menu and the Happy plate is one of my favorite dishes

Amazing! The Happy Plate made my heart happy! Seriously, accommodated the fact my dog was with us as we traveled so they let us bring him onto the patio. The golden texas margarita was delicious! Hubs got a half order of nachos that literally covered his plate. Cheese dip was perfect as was the salsa. I’ll definitely come back anytime I am close! Thanks Louis and Adan for exceptional guest service!

Tio Juan's is an excellent place to eat. The food is excellent and the service is outstanding! I recommend this restaurant to anyone that enjoys Mexican food as much as I do. What a great jem in our community!

Exceptional food and service. It's very authentic Mexican cooking. I have patronized this restaurant many times and consistency is always present.
My favorite item is the poblano pepper stuffed with spinach and cheese.Its perfectly fried and absolutely delectable
They have the whole fish (crappie)fried to perfection and presented with copious amounts of sliced limes. FABULOUS. The plate also comes with slice avocado refried beans and pico de guyo.
I closed my eyes and thought I had been transformed to Cabos in the Baja.
Excellent attentive service and inexpensive prices.

Worst customer service ever!!! I went and had an early dinner with my mother in law and my two children. Everything was OK until I informed the server that the guacamole was spoiled. The manager starts saying there are no refunds or returns. I informed him that I wasn't trying to get my food free and merely letting know there's an issue with the batch that it taste like it has spoiled tomatoes. He starts going off on me and telling me that I am rude and disrespectful because other people love their Guacamole. I will never be back!! Just sad how some establishments treat their customers. I am one of the nicest and most respectful people you will meet and was treated horribly because of the issue I addressed.

Floutas or as we would say in San Diego, CA "Rolled tacos" are very ful-filling and prepared fresh. The chips n salsa were superb too. I will definitely be back.

Grew up in San Diego, CA and I must say that their Flautas was freshly made and cooked and heartily stuffed with just enough flavor. I will gladly drive from Huntsville to Decatur weekly for their food. I look forward to eating here again soon.

Service was exceptional, extremely kind, knowledgeable and super fast. That being said everything else is mediocre at best. The food was good but look, if you're going to charge more than what the other Mexican restaurants are charging you have to do one of two things. Either larger portions or a more upscale restaurant. Neither was the case. I'll happily pay higher prices and often do at better restaurants like Sandovals in Huntsville or El Carrizal in Hartselle. Like I said, everything was good, food, service, etc. But the higher prices simply didn't reflect the portions or ambience.

The homemade hot sauce (both red and green) is great, the drinks are strong, and the food is so consistently delicious. It’s really a hidden treat in Decatur. The value is one of the best deals you can get today; don’t order sad fast food, call in an order!

Just a warning for those in the fence. Been there twice. First time was ok. The female manager was rude (girl bully attitude) but I ignored it.

The last visit was the most insane experience I could have ever imagined. I guess they were running low on cheese and didn’t want to admit it. The cheese dip was watered down. A menu item that was supposed to have cheese didn’t. If you are out of something, just admit it. Most customers will select something else. They did not want to take that meal off our bill. It wasn’t consumed. But they reluctantly did. When asked for an itemized bill to confirm, I was refused and a menu was shoved at me to do it myself.

Honestly, it took all my might to stay calm, and I did, even when she called the police on me (how insane!). I knew I had nothing to worry about because I just wanted an itemized receipt, and I’ve done nothing wrong, so I stayed. The police did arrive. Poor guys. Such a waste of their time.

She finally provided an itemized receipt. And, I was overcharged by a small amount, even after she removed the meal. She knew she was wrong. The restaurant did ultimately refund our entire meal (which is not want I wanted. I just wanted to be properly charged). I tried to insist on paying for the meals that were consumed but was denied. I like supporting local restaurants instead of the chain restaurants, and this is why I tried to pay for the rest of our meals.

As it turns out, they are struggling financially (news article about them not paying sales taxes they have collected for the city, and is/was about to be shutdown). I guess this stress is getting to the management team and they are taking it out in their customers when they are called out on when being cheated.

Hopefully since this incident (August 2023) they have better leadership, better quality food, and better service. I, on the other hand, will never ever return or support any other business they have.

The shrimp are large and the steak is juicy.. I enjoyed the happy plate at lunch today.. I meet the owner, and he's incredibly generous and friendly. I definitely recommend visiting.

First time to visit and ordered the steak fajitas....don't know what kind of meat they used but it was horrible, weird taste and color and texture and over all appearance. Will NEVER go back. I wondered if it was goat meat or something. Left and went to McDonalds where I know what I'm getting.

Terrible service, I went with a few friends and our server got rude and smart with us because we didn’t like our cheese dip. He told us we would still have to pay for it and walked off with an attitude. When we only took one dip in it . He also Brought us our food and put it on the table with an attitude and didn’t ask if we needed anything or nothing.

Loved it!! First time having the happy plate and it was amazing! Everything there was very cheap! Spent about 50 something dollars for a good amount of food(plus a few shots and a drink). But most definitely recommend for anyone who loves mexican food. I will be back❤️

This was the absolute worst restaurant I have been to it is nothing but a scam with poor customer service. Don’t order a alcoholic beverage because every drink has the same amount of alcohol no matter what size you get.

I won’t be back!

Grilled chicken taco salad had barely any chicken in it and the little there was lacked flavor. Table was covered in hand prints. Staff was very attentive and cleaned it up (only reason I’m giving it 2 stars instead on 1) but I’ll rather go spend my money else where.

went to eat with a friend and food was great! The restaurant looks kind of like a restaurant you would go to if you were in Mexico. it’s really authentic. The wait staff was wonderful! Friendly and attentive. Food was great no complaints not a single one The atmosphere was perfect. The saying “ you get what you paid for” certainly does not apply here. Prices are so reasonable, portions are more than plenty. I highly recommend this place! it is also very family friendly.

Food was not good and some was just too spicy. When we couldn't eat it because it tasted so horrible and asked if we could get something else, the manager refused and said he "couldn't help it". We had to pay for a horrible meal that wasn't even eaten. We won't be back.

Excellent grilled chicken, guacamole, salsa, and chorizo. It’s hard to find a Mexican restaurant that does everything well, but this place seems to. It isn’t the fanciest spot in town, but it was clean including the bathroom. Will return!

This is a smaller, family owned restaurant. The service is always great and welcoming, the food is the best there is, and the adult beverages of all options are very reasonably priced. I could not recommend this place any higher.

I went back to this place every day for a week after finding out they had birria tacos!! I love all the workers they’re super awesome and are really great at keeping this place top tier. It was also really good pricing not expensive at all.

Food was Good!! But you better go light on the chips, because after the first basket they give you when u first get there. There gonna charge u $2.75 per basket of chips. First Mexican Restuarant I've eaten at that charges you after the first basket of chips. I've Always thought the chips and salsa came with your meal, no matter how many they bring out.

This is probably the best Mexican food in Decatur. Meals that come with tortillas give you a choice of flour or white corn tortillas, and the corn ones were as good as the ones I ate in San Diego Viejo.

This place totally sucks and the food is horrible!! The waitress that knocked over my baby niece chair tonight and didn't have the decency to at least apologize needs to be terminated because her customer service is unconscionable! She's rude with no morals, home training, or etiquette! The Manager needs to properly train that pet before someone gets hurt due to her negative, careless, and negligence behavior. My family is appalled with this place. I'm going to report this dump to the health department, food inspector as well as the environmental protection agency.

My opinion is they have the best Guacamole in town. It's very authentic Mexican food and the Happy Plate is my favorite, although I have had several other menu items. Also, great cocktails and the staff is very attentive and friendly. My fav!

Exceptional place to eat. Service, flavor, portions and margaritas cannot be beat. The only down side as a customer is the limited space, sometimes there’s a small wait but nothing too bad. As someone who doesn’t like certain items on their plate I have yet to have gotten an incorrect order. I do not recommend this place… just so I don’t have to wait on my next visit. Joke aside, check them out.

Popular hangout with the locals. I went on a Monday evening and the place was filled with the smiles and chit chat of couples, families, and friends. I fully enjoyed the Tamale Dinner combo with a 1/2 order of Nachos Mexicanos (this was still a full plate!). They have excellent queso dip and warm chips to start your meal. Thank you!

Wow, this is some good food. Some buddies and myself ate there after kayaking all day. I have driven by here a lot when I work in Decatur. Every time I drive by the parking lot is pretty full. I had the Chili Colorado. This was one of the most flavorful dishes in have ever had. I won't spoil it for anyone else by giving too much away. The service was very good also. All of the staff I encountered were very friendly and willing to get refills. I will certainly be back here.

Worst customer service. I arrived and was told that it will be a 30 min wait. When it was time to come in. They gave the table away to another group. The owner took my information not a child...One of the waiters lied about my reservation time and the situation. Never coming again! Drove so far for a bad experience!

Food was really good, wait staff really nice but the kitchen was a little slow. Ice cold beer and pitchers of margaritas. Would give it 5 star if the food came out quicker it was about a 45 min wait for food and it wasn't that busy . Otherwise great place for lunch or dinner. I will go again.
