Not sure why this place popped up however not a place I'd ever visit again if under the same people. Haven't visited here in over 10plus yrs I'm not able to speak on the food because I don't remember it although I definitely remember the service and one word horrible.

Im from Huntsville and came to visit Birmingham I searched food places near by and this place came up and i dont know why i didnt check the reviews. I waited more than 30 minutes to get my food. And when my food arrived their was a COCKROACH on my food. I felt very disgusted and never in my life i will be going back to this place

Good Morning, I was so disappointed in Taqueria Los Machet I took my friend on a date and the waitress took so long to come and asked us on what we want, the food was cold when we got it I ask what beverage brand they serve the waitress said they didn't sell any but brought me a bottle of coke. What made me return to this restaurant because a friend took me to this restaurant a year ago and it was so amazing so we decided to go back and we got disappointed

We used to order food from there a lot, but the on the past three orders the food was not fresh at all… actually the onions were rotten and the potatoes were bad…
I tried to contact the manager and owner to tell them to please give me a refund on the last order but they seem not to care! I called a few times after the last order and they end up saying that I wasn’t able to talk to the owner for quite some time…
I will never come back and will never recommend!!!

Not bad! The machetes were really good but the menudo had no hominy in it which was weird, the chips were a little thick and almost stale and the horchata tasted thin or watered down.

The beef burrito I had had very little beef and it was stuffed in the back of the tortilla, speaking of, the tortilla was dry. The salsa is very watery with little to no taste. The chips were stale and unsalted. I got the 20oz mango margarita and it had more of an orange taste and was definitely made with syrup that was watered down and could not taste the tequila (that could just be me). The atmosphere was still and felt very uncanny, I don’t know if it was the paint on the walls or what. The staff we interacted with spoke little to no English and it coincides with the menu as well. It was just difficult to communicate and navigate the menu. I would not recommend this place

Unfortunately, this was a bad experience on a date night with the Misses.

We could not communicate with the servers... not looking to discuss world events, but basic questions about the menu options. Orders were brought out wrong, but was to be expected with the language barrier.

Definitely a loss on the night, as I was really rooting for a great time without having to drive too far from our home in Fairfield. Pretty certain that won't be back, nor be able to offer any type of recommendation for anyone interested in mexican cuisine locally.

Hoping your restaurant improves as it would be nice to satisfy my love of Mexican food close to home.

There food used to be good
But The beef had grizzles and did not taste like steak a could not eat it.
The prices have gone app with the sizes of the portion have gone down.
The guacamole was horrible it tastes like they added Some crazy bitter seasoning to it it was so nasty I could not eat the guacamole.
I Will never eat hear again.

Food is great if you are a racist don’t come here. This is nobody’s land you don’t need to learn English to be here!! You think it’s rude cause they can’t talk to you or tell you what something is DONT COME or use google translator. Overall I will agree they need to clean their bathrooms I have been here plenty of times and the food is always great and tables are never dirty.

The food here is great, but the customer service is bad. The waitres didn't come back to check on us or even ask if we needed refills on our drinks, and when I asked her if I needed to pay extra for us to get a refill since we had to finish our food without her coming back to the table throughout the time we were there she looked at me and walked away. I had to ask the lady at the register if I could get a drink, and even then, it was taken to the wrong table. And when our waitress finally decided to show up at our table again, I asked her for 2 to go boxes, she came back and hand one to my kids and left the other one on a chair next to our table and walked Away again.

Sorry but I cannot give a good review. First nobody in the place spoke any English. We ordered tea to drink. Mine sweet, my wife unsweetened tea. Mine had more sugar in it than a 4 lb bag of sugar. My wife couldn't get artificial sweetener. Then tried to order a meal. The waitress couldn't even tell us what came with say tacos or enchiladas. So we go up and left. Their menu was confusing. I do speak some Spanish but that didn't help as the waitress just looked at me like I was a demon. She never answered the first question.

The atmosphere in this place feels dirty and nasty! The Mexicanos who work here are RUDE and don't speak English! You're working in the US, learn how to speak fluent English!!! We were treated very nice while we were there but the salsa was not good. the chips were hard and seemed old. My husband ordered a chicken taco salad and my son had chicken nachos. They enjoyed their food except my son said the chips were a little stale. I got what I call a fiesta bowl (that’s not what it’s called there.)and I did not enjoy my food. The rice wasn’t cooked properly and the white cheese on top had no flavor . I’m pretty sure that’s why I didn’t like mine. Also I didn’t like that I had to pay $3 per soda. Bottled drinks. No soda fountain.

GOOD FOOD BUT.......The atmosphere makes u FEEL COLORED. It's sad. Go to LOS REYES INSTEAD!!!! The servers need to act like they happy to serve u.
Them folks looked like they we're dying to say,"35 MILES!!!" Never again.

If you don't speak Spanish this isn't the place for you. They don't understand English at all. Couldn't get a simple plain chicken burrito. Chips tasted like they were from a bag. Salsa tasted like watered down ketchup with hot sauce.

Food had issues very cheap with chips and salsa for a party of 4 till we ask for some more. $0 Tip teas for 2 of us never refilled. Bottled soft drinks understood need soda fountain installed. The 2 shrimp fajita dinners ordered had to peel shrimp. The tilapia grilled dinner was according g to him MEH, My Nachos were Ok and correct as,l asked for no lettuce could of atleast put a few more beans some red sauce and guacamole on them.Need to learn CUSTOMER SERVICE. Too PRICY FOR THE LACK OF. May give another chance with some gift cards.

There are great Mexican restaurants in Hueytown but this place beats them all! Absolutely wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere and we loved everything about it. It's the authenticity that makes this place so different and we will be back very soon. Be sure and check them out, you will not be disappointed when it comes to the food.

Upon arrival the music was blasting & they seemed offended when I asked if they would mind turning it down. The salsa looked & tasted like Taco Bell mild sauce, food wasn’t any better than Taco Bell. Was told all beer on the menu was $4, that was a lie. Then stood at the cash register for 10-12 mins waiting for somebody to cash us out. They tried to charge me $55 for next to nothing. Then when I asked what the cost was of each meal & drink, they didn’t speak English very well & didn’t understand what I was asking. Steer clear of this place!
