This is an absolute hidden gem. Googled “Mexican restaurants” and this one popped up. Got there and thought we were in the wrong place because we didn’t realize it was inside of a supermarket. SO glad we went in and checked it out. We got the quesabirria and pastor tacos… O M G!!!! 12/10. Salsas were all very fresh. I highly recommend this place. Also, as you leave, check out their sliced mango 😍

You walk in and go straight to the back and you’ll find the restaurant. You can walk up to the register and order to go or sit down in the booths and a server will take care of you. There’s a bar with all the salsas, pico de gallo, radishes, jalapeño, and etc. I got the light verde sauce it’s perfect amount of spicy you can tolerate.

Never thought I'd eat at a Mexican restaurant inside of a Mexican supermarket. Don't knock it 'till you try it. Walked into the supermarket and store cashier said restaurant in back of store, just have a seat. Great food!!! Pricing very good. Waitress friendly. Good experience.

Me and the wife went here, and was very surprised how good the food was.
Being a native Texan it was very close to the food you get in west Texas.
Very good, very large portions.
Come very hungry.
This is our new favorite place.

Dos veces me tomaron my orden sin anotar lo que pedí y me la trajeron mal. La primera vez lo deje pasar la segunda ya no. Luego dice no hay café porqué tienen que calentar el agua. Osea no manches pues me espero a que esté listo no hay problema. Ya me enfade. Porque la mesera no anota mi orden. De ahí en fuera la comida no tan mal pero el servicio nomas no.

I learned that THIS IS A VERY UNFRIENDLY PLACE, beginning with the woman in the front of the store who went way out of her way be rude & resentful of my blue eyes to the server who stayed fixated on her phone instead of clearing the empty beer bottles off the tables & cleaning the dripping condiments off the bottles at the tables. I will not be returning & NEVER recommending............

Both the Restaurant and the Grocery store have great food. Everyone is very friendly. Helps to understand abd speak a bit of Spanglish.
Also, there is a guy outside with a grill that appears to be cooking food purchased from the store(not sure if he is connected) He tries but speak no ablar americano...however...MANNN OOOHHH MANNN IS THAT STUFF ON POINT.!!! For least than 20.00 you can purchase a platter that will feed 4 people. The onions are amazing..I travel a lot and LOVE Central American and Caribbean foods...this little place and the guy outside are the VERY BEST in Dothan.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Dothan, AL. This is a hidden gem tucked away in the back of the grocery store that sells authentic Mexican foods including fresh cut meats, vegetables and all kinds of other authentic Mexican foods to cook with. In the back of the store, you will find an amazing selection of authentic Mexican foods on their menu. I suggest the Quesadilla Supreme or the Queso Bria. There is a self-serve chip and salsa bar complete with Mexican veggies to add some extra flavor to your meal.

It’s a taqueria in the back of a grocery store. You can’t compare service to a full service restaurant. If you want that experience go to the other location by pinch a penny. Service is fine. Not overly friendly, but polite and prompt. Waitress stayed on top of my rounds of modelo and my boyfriend’s coke. Our food came quickly and it was perfect. I got tripa and lengua tacos, boyfriend got chorizo. The chorizo is objectively better here and it feels like we get more meat on the tacos. They also did a cute remodel recently and it looks similar to the bigger location. I actually prefer the smaller location in the grocery. Less crowded, less loud. It’s genuinely the best Mexican food in Dothan.

Have only ordered takeout so I can't give a review on dining experience. Food is excellent & authentic. Grandson's girl friend works there & her mom is a chef there. I didn't know what authentic Mexican food was like until I ate their food A bit pricey but big portions. Husband & I can share a plate & have plenty & usually leftovers.Lots of flavor. Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. Definitely give them a try. You won't be disappointed 😀😀😀

The place is excellent. Clean and has Great food. Staff is plentiful. (A great change of pace compared to most restaurants nowadays). It was a great change of pace compared to many dingey hole in the walls. Definitely will be coming back with the family

We stop at this store anytime we pass through Dothan specifically to get their chicharrones and a chunk of cheese with the orange/reddish rind on it. Both great accompaniment to Mexican beer! When we have time, we eat in the restaurant. They sometimes serve a free, small bowl of vegetable soup with the meals that is so tasty. I've had carnitas, enchiladas, menudo, caldo de rez, fried birria tacos with a little bowl of consommé, all kinds of tacos and my go to flautas and I recommend them all! Wash it down with an horchata or jaimaica. The owners are wonderful people and the staff is very friendly.

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, don't skip on El Torito!

While out of the carnitas this past Sunday, they had barbacoa. Great choice. Meat just fell apart with the fork. Always great food, never disappoints.

this is a fantastic little hole in the wall Mexican restaurant with amazing quesa-birria tacos 🌮 🤌🏼🤌🏼 chef’s kiss. delicious! and they make a pretty great michelada ( some people call it a red beer or beer and clamato) to drink with your meal 🍹… i don’t speak spanish and they didn’t speak that much english but the food was amazing

Ive always heard of this place but finally tried it this year, to go. The flavor is Amazing. It really does taste different then other places. Also they have a store and a meat section incase you want to purchase certain cuts and meats and cook them at home. The Chicken Fajita, (amount of each item, portion, taste, etc, ) might be the best "chicken fajitas" dish I have ever ate at a restuarant! Dont eat out very often, but this IS MY new GO TO when I do.

Hole-in-the-wall spot that exceeds expectations. They have the best birria tacos I have ever eaten! Their salsa bar with chips is delicious and unique, too. After you're done, you can explore more of their supermarket and find snacks that you won't find elsewhere in Dothan!

Have been to chain Mexican restaurants here in Dothan and wasn’t feeling the authenticity. Went here and felt right at home and the food?! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!! My husband was laughing at me because I was so happy to have good food again. Sweet staff & the market up front has everything you can’t find in regular grocery stores at great prices. Definitely my favorite spot now ❤️❤️❤️❤️ finally found an authentic place in Dothan!

Brush up on your Spanish because communication can be challenging but there's usually at least one staffer that can translate. If you are here from out West and miss authentic Mexican food, this is as close as it gets! (Sorry but you won't find fire-grilled carne asada anywhere... most Mexican food in this region seems to be TexMex.)The plates that come out of this kitchen are beautiful! The food tastes so good and very authentic!

I heard this was the best in Dothan! WRONG!! SERVICE IS HORRIBLE AND FOOD WAS FAIR! The food would have been good had it not sat too long. Waited 45 minutes for my guacamole and chicken fajitas!! I really should have walked out!! Ran out of drink FAST AND NEVER GOT ANOTHER SWALLOW OF ANTHING. I packed up my stuff to go and went to the counter to pay WITHOUT A TICKET!!

Genuine Mexican cuisine in a fabulously fun, laid back restaurant behind a Bodega that's a shopping adventure in itself. Amazing salsa bar, fajitas with more peppers and zucchini than onions (for me a great thing) and whole wheat tortillas. Some of the best food I've had in a long time.

This place is hidden gem! It's not fancy, there aren't very many tables and the restaurant is actually in the back. Do not come with a large party! In fact, i wouldnt come with any more than 4. There won't be anyone to tell you what to do or where to sit. They bring chips out, but there's a salsa bar that you get your own salsa from I didn't try them all, but got the one that appeared to be the mildest. To me, it was still really hot, but had amazing flavor. My beverage choice was a pineapple soda, maybe? Not exactly sure, but it was very refreshing!

Now for the meal I ordered the Quesabirria, which is tacos. Birria is apparently beef that has been cooked with amazing spices. This meal comes out as tacos with the Birria meat and a bunch of melted cheese on tortillas that have been cooked in a pan with the contents. They serve it with a bowl of the Birria juice and it is amazing! Does not come with sides, but I didn't think it needed any. I was full!

I will definitely eat here again!

Walked in, food all over the floor, zero customers at 4:55pm, 2 dirty tables, and 3 employees playing on their phones…..no thanks. Went a couple miles away to the Rodeo restaurant.

This restaurant is a hidden gem of dothan. Food is absolutely packed with flavor! Prices are very cheap. 2 can eat very generously for 30$ instead of $50-60 for this amount of food at another sit down restaurant. With the $20-30 you save you can shop at their grocery store and take something home with you!

Authentic Cuisine. Awesome little grocery shop, butcher, and dessert stand inside as well. The Quesabirria absolutely blew me away, and ruined all other Mexican restaurants for me. I can never go back now

Food was very very good but the customer service was awful!!!! Waitress was very rude to me and my parents. Asked for cups of ice cause the drinks were warm and they never bring them to us during our dinner… very disappointed. No toilet paper, paper towels or hand soap in the restrooms. Definitely not going back… even if the food was true authentic Mexican food and very good it’s not worth it.

Too much rice on the asada burrito. It was hard to taste anything else. I will come back and try the street tacos that my buddy had because they looked great. Good salsa bar.

La verdad algo desagradable saber que te cobran de más por nada y peor aún qué no te dan recibo hoy fui compré algunas cosas y la verdad se me hizo mucho lo que me cobraron entonces chequie cada una de las cosas y compare precios y mi resultado fue qué me cobraron 15 o $20 más te lo que traía y lo peor aún La semana pasada me hicieron lo mismo 😡😡😡
