La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant - Dothan, AL

It was the perfect night for dining outside and their patio was the ticket. We had fish tacos & chicken tacos on this National Taco Day. For dessert we shared a sopapilla with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Very tasty food and the serving staff had their A-Game.
Mango margarita & house margarita started everything for us.

Went here at lunch on Father’s Day, I got the Texas nachos plain. There was hardly any cheese on the nachos, and very little meat as well. Of the few bites I had with meat, it was good but after a portion like this I will not be ordering nachos again. On the other hand, The La Parilla dip was good.

Pretty good, best sit down near Novosel better than mi casa, and el mariachi I think?? (that's how memorable it was). They don't have horchata, boooo, BUT compensate with big Aguas Frescas.

Every time I get a burrito, it looks so sad and bare on the plate, PUT SOME RICE AND BEANS ON THAT PLATE. NO MEXICAN PLATE SHOULD EVER BE BARE!!!

Piña Colada: big and good, shareable.

Tap water: actually palbable compared to other local tap water

Chips and salsa: same ole

Burrito with skirt steak: BIG. GOOD, tomatoe sauce too bland, but STEAK VERY SAVORY AND tender. Dont forget the garnish of the sliver of avocado (that was funny, guess they're too expensive?)

Rice and Beans: YAAAAAAYYY, not the average cruchy yellow rice with runny refried beans like EVERYWHERE ELSE. The rice was fluffy and good. Beans were de la hoya style, but savory, bravo.

Burrito El Cubano: Really good, i recommend, but I didn't get rice and beans :o(.

Flan: wish it was bigger, but compensated with flavor and presentation.

Went for my girlfriend’s belated birthday. We ordered drinks and they were fine but she wanted a takeout order of Texas Fajitas so we ordered it to go. Long story short 26.99 for this entree is ridiculous for the size of the meat portion served.

Nelson was wonderful to have as our server. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained the menu well enough so I could make decisions on what to order. The food was very tasteful. We enjoyed our dining experience.

Gabby our beautiful waitress was spot on!!! Seats available when we got there. The food was so delicious!!! The salsa is spicy, Quesa was yummy, the guacamole was spot on..

EXCELLENT! Quesadilla was best I’ve ever had! Full of vegetables and toasted just right. House margarita was to perfection. Staff very friendly and attentive. Prices great for all you get. We will return.

After driving 45 minutes we got on the waiting list. After 40 minutes on a 10 minute wait list, I asked if we were on the list and they said no. Another employee said we were and our table was ready but someone took us off the list. We were going to have to wait another 45 minutes instead of giving us the next available table. We go there often but are considering another Mexican restaurant.

Food could be better like it used to be. The sweet tea to go cup could be bigger for the price that they charge.
Today I dined in and ordered the loaded nachos. I liked everything but the plain light red beans. They were bland. Atmosphere and service were good. It’s a friendly place. I love the location and parking is not bad.

The last two times I have been in there I have ordered the Con Maduro tacos as I have for years now and both times they have been absolutely nothing close to the Con Maduro tacos I have ordered in the past. Tonight I ordered them and specifically said no cilantro. I got steak and pico on them which was the farthest thing from the Con Maduro tacos I’ve seen from there. Seriously not thinking about going back anymore.

The best Mexican restaurant around period. The carnitas are a favorite as are the fish tacos. Get queso dip with jalapeno you will thank me. Service is fast and the food is delicious. The only thing that makes me sad is that there isn't one in enterprise.

Food was honestly delicious. Better than some of the other choices in Enterprise and worth the 30ish minute drive over. Was pretty packed even at 6pm so do plan to come abit earlier. A little more pricey than your typical Mexican place so do account for that as well.

One of the better mexican places we’ve had near fort novosel, much better than the options in enterprise we’ve tried. My husband and I both loved what we ordered (burrito and fajita rice bowl), queso was fantastic too. Will definitely be back for more!

My wife and I ate at the bar. People were so attentive.

They have lots of staff so it looks like that’s probably the way the whole restaurant.

We started out with two of their specialty margaritas. They were both fantastic the spicy one and was really good. Just a hint a jalapeno.

We follow that up with two chicken tinga tacos and two pork con maduro tacos. Both were fantastic.

The beans and rice also really good.

We are stopping on the way home from our trip and had never been in Dothan before.

If you’re coming this way, this is a fantastic place to eat.

This place is great! We drive from Panama City to eat there several times a year. Five stars on food and 4 stars on service only because they never write the order down and almost always get something wrong.

Deserves a 4.5 don't want people to think it's a 4 bc it's definitely better than that. Savannah location may have the best taquitos ever . Dothan was great just not as good as Savannah. I will definitely be back .

First-time visit to La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant and I was thoroughly impressed! The Mango Salmon was incredibly tasty and fresh, a true highlight of my meal. The service was also great, friendly and attentive. I'm looking forward to returning and trying more of their delicious dishes!

Sr. Carranza was our server. He is a kind soul who treated us most cordially. He has our greatest respect. If all servers were as personable and efficient as he, they would all receive a 25% gratuity.

La Parilla has great food! There are wonderful vegetarian options as well as steak, shrimp & more. Fantastic desserts include the super flavorful fried ice cream.

I ordered via Door Dash to my hotel after a long, hot day of travel. Upon delivery, my order was missing the rice and beans which, to me, is HALF the meal. The chicken enchiladas I ordered were cold and tasteless. There was no flavor or seasoning. I'm from Arizona and understand Alabama has no clue what Mexican food should taste like but, I was expecting more from such a highly rated restaurant.

Use to be the best Mexican around. Has gone downhill along with the new remodel and hospital like sterile atmosphere. Margaritas lack alcohol the past few times we’ve been. Chips are not fresh as they use to be.

We went here for lunch very good lunch prices. I got the taco loco for $8.99 it was delicious. The chicken was very tender all the veggies on it were very fresh and the taco shell had a nice crisp to it. They give you a large portion as well this taco is massive. Also there cheese dip is actually good and thick not watered down.

Had the La Parrilla Dip appetizer (chicken, steak & shrimp in melted queso) - wonderful! Main course: carnitas with charro beans & rice. The pork was tender and very flavorful, the beans are also very tasty. Although the restaurant was quite busy for Mother's Day, the wait times weren't bad and the service was very attentive. Our entire table, party of six, had zero complaints, which is rare, meaning an exceptional experience for all of us.

The food was okay, but my low rating is because my wife told our waiter, when she ordered her meal, that she really liked cilantro and please have them go heavy on it. So when the check came, there was a 55 cent charge for an extra little sprinkle of cilantro. It's not like she asked for a bowl of it. The money isn't an issue, it's the nickel and diming on an over $100 tab for 3 people.
