Rodeo Mexican Restaurant

We’ve visited Rodeo Mexican Restaurant several times recently and we’ve been very pleased. Their food and service are the best. And, the restaurant itself definitely has that Mexican cantina feel to it. That alone makes a big difference to us. I’ve had their tacos, enchiladas, tilapia and veggies, and a few other things. On our latest visit, I ordered the Carnitas Dinner. It was excellent! The very lean pork was cooked with onions and just the right seasonings to give it an out-of-this-world flavor. You can’t beat it! You’ll have to try Rodeo’s. We’re certain you’ll love it!

Well...RODEO Mexican restaurant speaks for itself; great food & drinks, great service and a fun environment...people appear to be happy when they are dinning in; and NOooo it's not just because they are sipping on the best margaritas in town 😂! And did I say...they stay crowded, but doesn't a good resturant suppose to be crowded!

It's frozen microwave dinners. Nasty. Didn't eat it but literally one bite. They didn't offer to discount or comp. We didn't even drink the tea it was so bad. The cheese dip salsa and chips were good. Didn't mind paying for that. But for $ 27.99 and the food was microwaved, cold water running out from being frozen and microwaved. I'd never go there again. I should have known you didn't smell any food cooking when we entered front door. Save your money . I cook better mexican food then a Mexican. Sad. Never been as disappointed and mad at same time. And management was very rude when I told them we couldn't eat it . I honestly knew that is food poisoning waiting to happen. Eat at your own risk. Just my opinion. I've had great Mexican food that wasn't fit for my dog.

My salsa has the right amount of kick! The food and service was good. I asked the sever before ordering if my meal came with real or fake crabmeat. Since she doesn’t understand English well, she replied, “yes real crabmeat “. Nope, it has imitation crabmeat in it.

Waitress keeps disappearing and even had to be called to bring ticket to front so we could leave. Food comes out but didn’t bring enough plates and then take 10 minutes to get a second plate to eat off of. Sad

We had a very large party for our company Christmas dinner and they were extremely accommodating, responsive, and quick with service. Nobody had a single issue with their meal and it was delicious. Thank you guys.

When we arrived at the restaurant, the hostess appeared to be under the influence and was kind of incoherent. Despite this, a gentleman brought complimentary chips and salsa to our table. However, the salsa was definitely spoiled and tasted fermented. Fortunately, our waitress brought out fresh salsa to replace it.

As we waited for our main dishes to arrive, we couldn't help but feel disappointed. The food was just okay and nothing special. It was definitely not what we had expected from an authentic Mexican restaurant. The experience left us feeling unimpressed.

Overall, despite the initial hiccup with the spoiled salsa, the rest of our dining experience was lackluster. We had hoped for a taste of true Mexican cuisine, but unfortunately, we left feeling unsatisfied.

Met my friend at Rodeo Mexican restaurant. Food and service was great. This only applies to the location on Montgomery Highway. They treat you with respect and care.

I can’t say the same nice things about the Rodeo on the circle. They used to be my favorite but something happened to the staff and the food. I don’t go to this Rodeo any more. I have also talked to many friends who feel the same way.

Annoyed me I normally get my cheese dip and chips hot or warm at best tonight they were all cold and I ordered while I was on my way 5 or 6 minutes away. No wait grabbed the cold chips and warm cheese dip and passed it to me. I hate it here Jesus!..lol nothing consistent

Things have changed since we were last here. The ground beef had no flavor at all. The food is edible but bland. Service and atmosphere were okay, but we will not be back.

Oh yeah, watch your step. The floor is slippery. It's like the kitchen mop was used in the dining area and left a greasy residue.

Great food, people, and atmosphere. The helpings are more than generous. Only took a few minutes to get our food. Had a late lunch and did not want dinner. I am ready to go back today. Wonderful place for the whole family.

They do a really good job at Rodeo. I was just out of town and ate at another Mexican restaurant, and although it was good, for the ridiculously much higher prices I was so appreciative of the good food for the modest price that Rodeo consistently puts out. I will be sure to take family and friends visiting from out of town to showcase this little gem of Mexican cuisine we have in Dothan. Even tho I didn't realize he was back the waiter waited patiently for us to say grace. That earned him a good tip. I regret not getting his name

Great food but just experienced horrible customer service. Person who answered the phone to take my order told me to wait a minute. Puts the phone on the counter and starts talking to someone about his cousin needing to go to Birmingham. After five minutes of this I hung up, called back 5 minutes later and the lines busy, guess he's still forgotten that he is at work and needs to work.

Rodeo has several locations throughout S. Alabama. Menu is basic/ Americanized Mexican favorites. Presentation is... meh. Food is generally good no stand outs to mention. Service is hit or miss with some good servers at a few locations and some not-so-good at others. It fits if you are looking for your average Mexican experience with no frills and acceptable prices. Best thing is there are Rodeo restaurants located near you I'm certain!

Enjoyed eating here, very huge, budget friendly quick Mexican Food that is very good . Love the Beans and Rice... Outstanding and delicious items on the menu... The salsa is excellent.. guacamole was a little on the pricey side for a small bit but was really good... Noisey at times, distracting.. That's why I gave it a 4 stars... Was very crowded on day we went... But overall.. Will definitely come back again.

Such a fantastic find! We stopped in here while driving through on a spur of the moment. From the second we walked in, the staff was welcoming, friendly, and highly attentive. The food was INCREDIBLE (we live in Atlanta where there is no good Mexican food) and the margaritas(massive btw) were delicious yet strong! I can’t recommend enough!

Located on Ross Circle next to Howard Johnson motel. Always very busy. Good food at reasonable prices. Not the best I have ever had but good for price and quantity of food.

If I could leave 0 stars I would! One of the absolute WORST experiences I have encountered. The waiter was intentionally ignoring our table, after we told him we were ready to order he walked away and started taking orders from those around us who came in after us and then decided to be argumentative towards our table after we told him we wanted the ticket for our drinks. He then decided to talk about us in Spanish pointing at us and getting loud and then threw his ticket at us. Absolutely will not be back to this rodeos because of this horrible waiter.

I usually love this location , Rodeo on the Southside, but today they where just off. We got sat right across the the couple before us, they immediately had a server got drinks chips and their order taken, we were brought our chips and salsa and waited about 15 minutes for someone to come take our drink order, I finally had to get up and ask for a server. The manager came by and apologized and sent a young girl out and we finally got our drinks and she took our order , when the food came out my husband's was correct but mine was wrong, I had some kind of scrabbled egg and sausage dish and by the time she came back for me to tell her the order was not correct my husband who it's way slower than me had already ate all his food, she brought back the correct order, but no apology from the manager when I explained all that happened he kept speaking Spanish to the cashier. And I was very kind, never spoke down to anyone or anything, just brought it to their attention

Decent Spanish food but if they got anything right the first time when you order to-go, it’d be a miracle. This is now multiple occasions (3+) some or all of my order is messed up. I ordered 2 shrimp quesadillas for my wife and I. They have a menu item #38 called “Shrimp Quesadilla”. It’s a good size meal with rice and beans and so on. When I went to pick up the meal, the price seemed low. I brought it up to the man taking my payment. He read my order to me as two shrimp quesadillas. Sounded right so I went with it thinking maybe they were on special Sundays. When I got home, among my kids food, were two shrimp tacos, they claim were quesadillas, though they aren’t closed or cut. When I called back, the person on the phone told me he rang in “side orders of shrimp quesadillas” and “I had to specify what kind of shrimp quesadillas I wanted”… Then why is there a menu item just called “Shrimp Quesadillas” on your menu. Also, why would anyone just automatically assume you want a side order. If you’re not sure, just ask. The gentleman refused to give me a refund on the first quesadilla mishap because I “didn’t bring them back in for the manager.” That’s a ServSafe violation. In my 4 or so years in restaurants, I was always told we cannot take back food that has left our building. Then claimed he was doing me a favor by making one of the quesadillas free, when the two side orders was the same price anyway. When I asked another employee for a manager, they pointed at the same guy I was already talking with. So, now I’m being told the guy can’t give me a refund cause I didn’t bring in food for the manager, but another person is telling me he’s the manager? Interesting. The customer is never right at this Rodeo location, but apparently, the staff isn’t either when you order take out. If that was my restaurant, I’d be genuinely embarrassed my staff is making assumptions on behalf of the customer instead of clarifying, telling the customer it’s their fault for not being specific, not refunding a mistake my employee made, and then lied to a customer about who the manager is when they just want some clarification.

We ordered chips and dip with queso, three amigos burrito (chicken, steak, shrimp, rice, and queso), steak quesadilla, and children's cheeseburger and fries. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. Even the children's cheeseburger was moist, bun was buttery, and the patty was a fair thickness and size. Service was quick and attentive. Meal prices are cheap. I'll definitely come back!

Truck shopping in Dothan found this place, wow. Really fast paced, so I'm thinking this is not going to be good, boy was I wrong. To begin with , the chips were the freshest I've ever eaten, and the salsa was good. We ordered the ribeye with Ranchero sauce I've never eaten a thin cut steak that was this juicy. The atmosphere was friendly server was great all around a great experience and got it all for 30 bucks for myself and my coworker now in today's economy that was good all by it self.

This is now one of my top-two favorite Mexican resturaunts in Dothan Alabama, mainly for their food selection and quality. If you like tacos but want to kick it up about 10 notches, then try their Tacos Macho. It's made in a light and crispy but very large shell. In it, they have shrimp, crab meat, lattuce, onion, sour cream, etc. This dish hooked me from the start. Normally I would go to La Parilla but I go out of my way to eat at Rodeo just to get the Taco Macho dish. I've never seen this dish anywhere else and you've just gotta try it.

As far as atmosphere, it's not bad. It has the dim lighting intimate ambience, but I think it's the wall and floor color that leave me slightly cold. Again it's not bad and for others this may be the exact atmosphere they are looking for. It's just a matter of personal taste. Even so, I do bring my wife there on dates when we're in town and she loves it.

I had a quesadilla with rice and beans. It lacked flavor. We had to ask three times for more salsa just so I could put some on the quesadilla to get some flavor. It was a struggle to get our drinks refilled. They use the really thick tortilla chips not the thin ones just for reference.

Wonderful evening meal with out of town family. Our server was fabulous, and the food was delicious! Portions are very large, and you definitely get your money's worth! You know it's a good Mexican place when most of the other guests are speaking Spanish at their tables!

The food was amazing, I got the chicken fajitas for one. The waitress was so nice and was always filling our drinks. The only bad thing was a waitress passed by with some food , and the whole room filled with a burnt smell. Other than that awesome!!
