This is a great restaurant for authentic Mexican cuisine. El Paisano offers a trove of traditional dishes that will tantalize your taste buds.

I had the Carne Asada street tacos, and they were perfection 👌 The steak was flavorful, tender, and juicy topped with fresh cilantro and onions served with lime, radishes, and the most delicious grilled onions. (Seriously, so good!)

The guacamole and salsa were both appetizing as well.

The service was fast and friendly.

I'll definitely be back!

This location is the most authentic Mexican restaurant in the area that I've tried. I was first taken here by some of my Hispanic co-workers that raved about it and have been several times since. They were initially a restaurant on the left and a convenience store on the right, but have remodelled and now have an insurance building on the left and the restaurant on the right.

I originally got the tortas, but since they switched the restaurant to the other side, they're not exactly the same - still good especially with extra fresh mozzarella, but I can't place exactly what's different. They also sell horchata (a cinnamon rice milk drink)! Lately, we've been obsessed with their birria tacos given by server recommendation, which caused us to visit many days in a row after the first time trying them.

Good food but they up charged me nearly 5 dollars for an 11 dollar burrito. I get there’s tax but there were other up charges on the receipt that they couldn’t provide any explanation for. I got water and no other add ons at all. Misleading prices, not cool.

We had our food to go, so we didn’t stay inside long. It’s a nice place, there was absolutely nothing wrong. It seemed clean, just a bit outdated. The service was quick, and the employees were all very nice. The food was on point! The birria tacos and consommé were excellent. Each was full of meat and toppings and seasoned to the last bite. My daughter had soft chicken tacos with lettuce and cheese and those were, as she puts it, “bussin!”

So far so good, I can count 15 Mexican restaurants that I’ve been, 1 out of 15 I haven’t found a place that has the tacos and langua, there fresh no weird smell, it’s delicious and I’m looking forward to the next visit.

Taxed for Tacos? Yes we were.... Being that we are from Arizona, we know authentic tacos when we taste them and these are definitely authentic. The trouble in paradise comes with the idea that in order to feed a family of 6 and a guest, that there should be a fee for the privilege of spending money at this establishment. My wife walked in to pay for our food and the gentleman that rang her out, "Re-Rang" the entire order. We ordered Tacos, Cheese-dip and drinks and this guy tried to charge my wife almost $250.
You can always tell that there is going to be something shady when a person looks at you and then goes and takes 10 full minutes to re-ring the order. They charged us way over the menu price and then added a $50 "To Go Fee" to the bill. Of course, that wasn't mentioned up front and it was basically a gratuity that he took. Then a $5.95 service charge on what should have been right around $120 at the most. We didn't sit, we were not served but they decided to charge "Us" a large party gratuity. More than this, they charged more than what their menu stated that the tacos cost. It was really like bartering in Ensenada as a tourist in Mexico, but no Tequila! My wife gave them almost $190.00 for Tacos and Cheese Sauce. I could have had 6 ribeyes from Outback Steakhouse for that. Then, they didn't give her an itemized bill. The dude ripped the itemized bill off of the bag and never gave it back. I know that we don't look like we are from the area, but really? I know that we don't look like the type of people that have over a million views on our Google Maps reviews but... "Surprise".... :-) You just robbed a Level 7 Google Maps reviewer! As I mentioned before, we are from Arizona, so we were really looking for a place that we could dine with every week or two when we are thinking about home, BUT, I don't dig on being profiled and robbed, so we won't be going back. The bottom line, Caveat Emptor "Make Them Give You A Price BEFORE You Go To This Place". If a middle aged dude that tries to act like he can't speak English grabs your bill and starts pecking on a calculator, "Just Leave". This is the type of thing that discourages supporting small, Mom & Pop restaurants. The food isn't worth getting the business... "Do Better"..

They charged us extra an didnt tell us about it an there are no signs informing you of the extra charges they charge you extra for take out orders an they charge for the containers the food comes in but they wont tell you this they have no itemized receipts so you just have to take there word for it GOOD LUCK!!!

Omg! Best and I do mean best mexican food around! Great prices lots of food and terrific flavors. It was my first time there and I asked our waitress what she recommended and she was so sweet and helpful. I hope when we go back...and we will I hope we get her again. We order 1 order of everything on your fajitas you can possibly think of for 2 people and still had enough left over for another meal. $18.99. What!? Oh side note who knew 🌵 was so good? I'm sure everyone else in the world but dang I'm now hooked. To bad I'm only here for 1 more week. But to EVERYONE reading this....GO THERE. you will not be disappointed. Uh unless you actually think taco bell is mexican food! Lmao 🤣

They food is really good . But better then that, the people who service the establishment are great! Passing through Alabama for a spell, have eaten here about five times easy. Prices are more then fair, best guacamole in town, hands down. As a spiritualist one can see spirit in all things. The folks who work here have a great vibe and true spirit that can be felt, inside out.

Came in for a quick bite and have to say I’ll definitely be back! For starters we had the most friendly greet, but despite how busy it was our server Rebecca went over and out to make my family feel right at home, clean neat professional appearance and answered all of our answers about the menu. Ordered tamales to go along with cheese dip and quacamole dip. Tamales gave my wife and I food poisoning. She was up throwing up during the night. I felt very sick also. Will never order food from there again.

Very good experience. Authentic food, however small and fills up quick. They serve no alcoholic beverages, but the fruit drinks are good. Especially the guava juice. Get the birra or pastor tacos with the soup for dipping.

If you like Mexican this is the best in Florence.

SERVICIO: no hay suficiente personal para atender, no es culpa de las meseras, pero tardan muchisimo h les falta actitud de servicio.
COMIDA: Excelente sabor, muy autentico y original mexicano. Las porciones, muy muy pobres.

LO MEJOR: Salsa verde que te dan dd cortesia jinto con los totopos.

SERVICE: there is not enough staff to attend, it is not the fault of the waitresses, but they take a long time and they lack a service attitude.
FOOD: Excellent flavor, very authentic and original Mexican. The portions, very very poor.

THE BEST: Green sauce that they give you courtesy together with the tortilla chips.

These are without a doubt the best tacos I've had in The Shoals. I moved here from Texas and knew that it was going to be an adjustment for my weekly Taco Tuesdays, but when I stumbled upon this place, I knew that there would be hardly anything to come even close to such superb quality. The taco proteins are juicy and well cooked, the tortilla is the perfect texture. When I want something else, like a torta or tostada, it's an enormous serving well worth the value. I sat down last night after ordering from them to go and the staff are very friendly and personable, a true blessing to have this place here.

Didn't see the health score until I was checking out, But the food was actually good. Had a pastor Torta with a pastor authentic taco. Waitress was also friendly. Restaurant wasn't busy when I went, so service was great.

I am a forever customer. The sopes, the tamales and the asada tacos was sooooo good! I literally made myself sick from eating 😁.
The service was a bit off. Had to ask for silverware, napkins and didn't get a refill on one of our drinks but the food was absolutely phenomenal.

Let's just say first of all minus 100 stars is where it should be. It's not only te food quality but the service as well. First we ordered drinks Lemonade to be exact. Yeah some horrible mix with Florence city tap water. ( it has a bad taste ) then the food. It's hard to convey just how bad it was. This would take hours along with pictures. But even worse was the service. As this so called food arrived. We had no silverware even after we asked. Then to top it off the 8 year olds plate ot tacos never arrived. Still to this day they have not. I like to think they are in taco heaven; generally I like to give people a chance. But in this case stay away. Very far away. In fact if you just have to have Mexican food. Go to taco bell. You will thank me later. Best part is I refused to pay anything. And they decided not to argue the point.

We did takeout. I ordered the Birria tacos for myself and steak cheese and rice and cheese quesadillas for my kids. Our food was delicious! The birria tacos and consume tasted bested that I could have imagined! 10/10!! I will order this again soon!

We have order here twice before and loved it. However placed an order today get it home and it’s ice cold. Called them about it and they said it was because I took to long to get there. But I got there and had to wait 10-15 for it. They finally agreed to replace the food and it’s still cold. The cook or manager guy came out mean mugging because we complained. Don’t think we will be return customers.

The enchiladas are great. I've had them twice a few weeks apart and the consistency is spot on. Flavor and portion size didn't change.
Ask about their in house drinks, pineapple and watermelon are the two that I've tried. I thought they were very good and if they have flan, get it. It's made there fresh.
