Don Bigotes Mexican Restaurant Gadsden

We celebrated our Son-in-law 's Birthday here with family. It's a small restaurant, but seems to be a great place for families. The food was delicious & portions great . The service was good & we will definitely be back! They do have an all you can eat, small buffet,daily, during lunch hours. They do have carryout. Restrooms are clean. I'd just love it more,if they'd play some Mexican music . They do serve cocktails.Margaritas are good,not like koolaid. They should repaint their Vaquero outside on the bench. It's a good photo opp. My Husband absolutely loved his seafood caldo ( soup)! I loved my Vegetarian Fajitas and the fact that potatos were in it!

Great Food and Service! The salsa was delicious and had a little kick. I had a steak burrito ranchero with the best green sauce that I have ever tasted. Can’t go wrong with a top shelf margarita. Food was served fast and the service was very attentive!

The staff was very nice & our waiter was very good at trying to make us happy. Our first glass of tea was not sweet & had sugar sitting on the bottom. Our waiter saw me stirring it & quickly came to apologize & replaced them with new tea, which was good & sweet. The chips are a little thicker than most restaurants in the area, but some may like that. The salsa had a little to much cumin for my taste. I prefer the tomato & cilantro to be the top flavor in salsa. We ordered the steak fajitas for two. The steak & vegetables tasted great & the rice & beans were excellent as well. There was a good bit of fat & gristle in the steak, but there was so much of the steak it didn't matter after taking it out. We got a regular margarita & a strawberry margarita. The regular margarita had plenty of tequila but no lime flavor at all. It was more like a tequila slushy. The strawberry margarita tasted great but seemed to have very little or no tequila. We almost wondered if they put both shots in the regular margarita & none in the strawberry. Overall it was a decent experience but there's plenty of room for improvement. I think they have a lot of potential going forward, but it's a crowded market with exceptional & already established competition. But they were open on a Friday night after 9 when much of the competition was closed, which is the main reason we chose it. The prices were very good as well. The ticket was only $35 for two including the two alcohol drinks. We may go back for the lunch buffet. If the food is as good on the buffet as the dinner food, it would be a great value.

Went in there for the first time with my niece last week and I was very impressed. The bathroom was clean but small definitely not for a big girl like me. The food was delicious and the decor was so pretty. Our waiter was very nice and welcoming. They have a small buffet area. We didn't try it this time but will definitely try it out next time we go.

This restaurant is our favorite Mexican restaurant! If you haven't tried it, you're missing out. Their food is fresh, hot, and absolutely amazing! The employees are friendly and have excellent service skills. Definitely out go-to restaurant! Also, they have a drive thru.

My daughter and I ate here while on a trip. The lunch buffet was good. It wasn’t the largest I’ve seen, but it was big enough. Good variety. The waitress was very sweet and attentive to us.

They will charge you what they want regardless of what the menu price is. Paid $40 when the bill should have been $33 even with kids buffet. We will not return.

We want refunds This rude waiter almost messed up our mothers day . Her energy rolling her eyes when we ask a question, she walked away while I was putting in my order, no smiles, not sure how much English she understands. Mothers day memories she gave us is unfair.

It messed up our mothers day dinner. At a time we were suppose to be celebrated, we felt like we were barely being tolerated, like we were a bother. We treated her with respect & a good tone. So that nasty eye rolling was uncalled for. She didn't even tell us Happy Mother's day.

We kept our Kool but almost left before the food came out. Most of us & our friends didn't finish their meals . The quesadillas were burnt. When I asked her nicely if you can remake them,she rolled her eyes.

The food was better on Friday when we came for the first time. There was good live music and a better waiter. She still wasn't the most friendliest but she wasn't rude like this one.

I had to shake off the false guilt of inviting our friends there. It was embarrassing & discouraging. It felt belittling. We were thinking it was going to be a good time but they told us the Attalla location was better customer service.

I doubt that we will go to the gadsden/ rainbow City location again. We only went for the music Friday and the discount for mother's Day. The discount still wasn't worth it. Those memories, we are still talking about a week later. My friends blood pressure was up, she had her watch on that showed her.

We want our refund back not only was the food nasty and costed more than my friends expected for theirs but it messed up time and our day a fellowship and dinner. It seemed like the lady didn't want to have to work on mother's Day. We had to deal with her. Please contact us . We deserve an apology too. Thank you .

The waitress were very rude to my family & I & my friend & her mother on Mother’s Day. She was rolling her eyes while taking our orders & rushing us to order. My mother has high blood pressure & she caused my mom blood pressure to go up just by her bad attitude. I will not be going back there but will go to the Attalla location for better service.

We would Like a refund! We invited a group for Mother’s Day only for service to be terrible! The waitress was rude especially with the eye rolling when each of us individual were ordering. She kept walking off while we was ordering (it was like we was talking to a wall). She seem like she did not want to be at work. The energy was off really bad. With her bad attitude on a holiday, made one of the mothers blood pressure go up. My mom food was burnt even on the remake. She didn’t even try acknowledge what one of the orders would be (name of dish). She was half listening to orders and it ended up being wrong. The food was not even good. She stood somewhere by a table waving the receipt book at us (rushing us to pay). She answered the phone instead of giving me my card back (I didn’t realize it until I was outside for 10 minutes) the other waitress brought my card back to me afterwards. The waitress was nice to every other tables but ours. I felt like she was being racist to be honest. I forget her name. We all would like a refund and we will go to Attalla location.

I would gave 5, because there food is great, I dine in, tocos are 3 for 6.50 plus NO, one tomato, and a little sour cream, its more, 1.19 more. Plus drinks, it's a 13.00, you order out. With no drinks it still the same, or more. I didn't understand that, when I mentioned it, they still didn't change it.. because it never made sense, because I didn't get drinks. Just tocos. Take out. I probably want go back. They are a Mexican restaurant on every corner in rainbow city Alabama, that I know if I complained, they would be happy change my bill, or order with out giving me a excuse, why it was wrong and I am paying for the bill.. which going out for one person is not cheap.. but I gave it some stars.

Went for lunch buffet today. Delicious Mexican food. Flavored well. Small buffet but lots to choose from. Could have been hotter. No fresh taco veggies or shredded cheese. I didn't miss them tho.

Tacos were good. Chips and salsa were mediocre 👎. Service was good. Worst Margarita ever. I mean the worst ever. It had no triple sec or tequila in it. It tasted like cheap sour mix. My wife order a frozen Margarita, and it tasted totally weird … Strange.. it had no lime or liquor taste at all.. it had a milk like taste… very strange. Obviously, a mistake was made. It was that bad. My wife didn’t touch it after the first swallow. I travel for my job, and while out of town, I like to explore and find New Mexican restaurants to try. I start with a house margarita, chips and salsa at every place.. It’s like a standard. This place didn’t pass. I will not return to this restaurant. It failed miserably. To be fair, the waiter did not charge me for the frozen margarita, but she refused to acknowledge that anything was wrong with it. Score:F

I got the Pina Tropical, the description does not match what you get. It is very spicy, and you don't get much pineapple in it. It's served in half a pineapple but you can't get none of the pineapple from it. It was very greasy and truly not good at all. I also got a Mangonada, and it was nasty as well. Did not taste any alcohol only mango and the chili spice.
This was our first time at this location and our last. We was a party of 7 and no one enjoyed their food. Big disappointment!!

We ate a late lunch, or early dinner. We were the only customers at the time. I ordered enchiladas suizas and my daughter had a torta. The food was really good. Service was good, but we were the only ones there. Their menu was a pretty typical Hispanic menu, though they did have some different things, especially seafood like ceviche and aquadulce.

I’m am sitting on the toilet with food poisoning as I write this review. my only complaint is the food poisoning that my friend and I got there. My friend and I went there and ate the buffet. This was my 3rd time eating there and I had never got sick from eating there, I have always enjoyed there buffet. My friend and I both got sick and we probably won’t be back any time soon.

We are new in the area and we just tried Don Bigotes for the first time and LOVED it! We had the buffet and was really pleased with everything we tried. My favorite was the chicken burrito and the Mexican lasagna! My husband liked the steak and peppers dish (similar to fajitas- can't remember the name) and he also commented that the taco salad shells were light and fluffy and crisp. Dessert was also good! Everything was fresh, and the staff were very friendly. We'll definitely be back!

The food (fajitas) looked amazing, but even with everything (chicken fajita blend, guacamole, pico, beans, sour cream, lettuce, salsa, rice, and cheese dip) on them, my fajitas had very little flavor. Also ordered a banana chimichanga, expecting it to have banana included in it somehow. What I got was delicious, but it was fried cheese cake. Nothing banana about it. The meal was enjoyable enough, but next time I will choose one of the other; many Mexican restaurants we have in the area.

I ordered the Molcajete Mexicano for $15 or so and they brought me a room temperature plate of rice and refried beans that came out of a can, and then brought out a bowl full of mush that left a giant puddle of grease on the bottom. The meat was tough as a rock and everything tasted extremely salty. The customer service and atmosphere was good but the food was pretty rough in my honest opinion. I noticed there was a whole giant buffet of food that was getting either thrown away or put in a refrigerator for the next day. 🧐 Pretty weird.

If you haven't been to Don Bigotes yet, you are seriously missing out. This has to be hands down one of the best restaurants in the Gadsden/Rainbow City area. The burritos are amazing, the tacos are great too, they have excellent Chile Poblano peppers. All for a great price, their portion to price ratio is spot on. Go see for yourself!

Most near authentic Mexican food in Etowah County. The service was excellent. The steak torta was very solid, and the tacos birria (3) were very good. The dipping sauce adds dimension while lime and verde are also provided.

I will give 2 stars simply because of the many choices on the Buffet. However we got there before noon and the Buffet Food was cold or room temp. at best. This was our 2nd visit to make sure the 1st visit wasn't just an oversight of turning the heat on the Buffet. Mexican Food IS NOT GOOD COLD. :(

Food is good w large portions. Salsa is good but if u don't like chunks it might no suit ur interests. Staff is friendly and have always kept refills coming as well as checking on my needs. The lunch buffet is actually good w decent selection to eat your hearts content, though I don't advise it unless u ready to go take a nap.. lol. Only complaint I can truly say is if u go in during a busy time the restaurant will b smoky inside from the kitchen. Not terrible or unbearable but u will leave smelling of a variety of foods.. give a try have ate at gadsden and centre locations both good food..

We had fajita taco and a chimi with all the fixins. The food and service was perfect! Best taco salad I've ever eaten! I'll give them an A+. Chad Steed was entertaining and he was great. Wonderful experience. We will continue to give them our business.

Out freaking standing. There are plenty of Mexican restaurants in the gadsden area. And then there's Don Bigotes. Savory Mexican food is a good way to describe the cuisine here. Their shrimp cocktail is especially delectable. The steaks, burritos and tacos are simply amazing. They go above and beyond with service, and taste extravaganza personified.
