Taco Mama - Gardendale

Our family of 3 ordered Jorge's Nachos and let me tell you, I eat quite a bit and this meal filled us all up with plenty to spare. The staff was all VERY friendly and personable. If you have a family of 3-4, Jorge's Nachos are definitely the best bang for your buck. We got the nachos with double protein, and it was plenty.

The Chipotle Ranch was an absolute game changer for the flavor. The meat was moist, fresh, and well seasoned. Every topping that we chose was fresh and perfectly proportioned. They even provided us extra plates so we could share.

This is the best Taco Mama location out of all of them for food quality and service!! This is the only location that ever puts all the ingredients I ask for into my bowl. The bowls are always good at all locations, but this one always has fresh tea, fresh lemons and they always put all the ingredients I ask for in the bowl. I think other locations must think it’s redundant that I get avocado chunks AND guacamole lol, but this location doesn’t question it, they just accommodate!

All the employees are so friendly and helpful. The food is great. The burrito bowl was great and the shredded chicken quesadilla was delicious. All the food tastes very fresh and gets to your table fast. I just can't say enough about the service. Multiple employees greet you at the door and offer suggestions on the menu. They come by the table to check on you. Amazing. A++++

You're greeted by a door greeter passing out menus before you make it to the counter to order. The restaurant is self seating and there is plenty of seats both table top, and high top. The menu is is super easy, with pre-made baskets of tacos chips and salsa or a create your own taco side with a plethora of options. The salsa is not that good, the most common ancestry it has to actual salsa is the Tomato in it. The macaroni and cheese, is okay. Tacos are the star of the show!! My son had the original beef, and I had the cheesy beef. Both of them were fixed to the hilt and were delicious! They're sweet tea was made by somebody southernmost definitely, and is delicious as well. There are no drink sizes in this restaurant is everybody has one size cup with unlimited refills. The staff in this restaurant were eager, and helpful, and just the most Pleasant to be around.

Always a smiling face to greet you when you visit this location. Whether it’s take out or dine out, they never miss. I usually order a burrito bowl and do an online order. The staff always gets my order right and it’s always ready for pickup when I arrive. If you are in the area give them a try.

Best of the best. We have almost ate at every location. First time was in Auburn. Friendliest staff at each one. Would absolutely love to have one in Cullman. I think it would stay covered up and the business would truly expand. Wouldn’t be able to keep us out of it in Cullman. Such yummy food!

Just had a therapy session with Aldon, the bartender. A much needed therapy session. It's been a long frusterating day (2 weeks) (maybe month) in the work world and I needed food. Greeted at the door, perturbed at the chipperness of the hostess, I accepted the menu and immediately asked for a shot of tequila. Lol. There's Aldon, ready to serve and help me know how to even take a shot at a bar. Anyway, I was at 2 and now I'm a 9 for sure and soon to be 10 after Jorges nacho goes down the ol burger tube. Thankful for feeling cared for even if it was at Taco Mama for 20m. Thank you 😊 🙏

I rarely give places 5 stars, but Taco Mama in Gardendale deserves everyone of them. The food was great, portions were abundant, service was exceptional, and the atmosphere point on. Everything about my dining experience was top tier.

Got here and as soon as I walked in I was immediately greeted and welcomed, got my food and sat down took about 5 minutes to come out. Was continuously checked on and our cups were never empty. Amazing experience and great workers!!!!!

Waited on hold for 10 mins, then my food only took a few mins to make and it wasn’t busy. Ended up paying 20 bucks for the smallest burrito I’ve ever seen from here and I’m halfway through it before I get a bite of any of the protein or other toppings I ordered. Normally I eat at the Homewood or other locations and they are great, they are just wanna bes over here. Would not recommend wasting money for a small rice burrito here.

Me and my family went there just to get out of the house, and we sat outside since we had a dog. The people are very friendly and the food came out quick and the place was busy but everybody was nice. We will be back in the future.

Went in to order,was met by mgr,who explained menu. We had custom nacho dish and it was all the wife and I could comfortably eat

There were 8 of us who went to lunch at the Gardendale location about three weeks ago. It was one of our first warm days and they had the garage door open, it was fantastic. We ordered our food and it arrived in a matter of minutes. Everyone was so friendly and attentive to be sure our food was exactly as we had ordered. It was my first time eating at a Taco Mama restaurant and it was awesome. The food was fresh and the salsa was just right. I built my own burrito bowl with the shredded chicken and can’t say enough positive words about how tasty the food was. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. We will certainly be returning soon.

I’ve been here with my wife maybe 4 times at this point. I’ve also been to other Taco Mama locations and have never had a problem with service, but this place has blown me away every time.

I’ve interacted with at least a dozen different employees at this point and every single one seems to go above and beyond to make sure we’re happy. Again no shade at other locations because no complaints about service at all elsewhere and food is always good everywhere, but this team is special. Multiple table touches to check on us, offering above and beyond service for fast casual, greeting everyone at the door genuinely with a smile and a menu, patience and friendliness while ordering etc—I could go on and on.

I managed multiple units for a relatively recently bought out very successful Birmingham-born fast casual concept for many years so this is coming from a very informed perspective—absolutely fantastic job to all. Keep it up—lucky to have you in Gardendale!

Oh my God the food was so freaking good this was my first time ever going to this restaurant any of the location luckily a friend of mine's who knew how to order took me and showed me how to order on the menu because it can be a little complicated but word of advice is ask for double protein get the grilled chicken with steak burrito bowl you will be in heaven I had to take my wife the very next day it was that good

First time at the Gardendale location and it was 10/10 for sure. Food was delicious and got out superrrr fast. Watermelon margarita was perfect and fresh. Outdoor seating was adorable & good music played the entire dinner.

Stopped by Taco Mama tonight for a to-go order. I must say the cashier was the friendliest I have possibly ever experienced. The staff was very bubbly and happy to be here and happy to serve! The food is always great. The to-go service was extremely easy and fast. I felt so welcomed. The staff just blew me away tonight!

We ordered takeout, but were not crazy about the food. It was the beef tacos and they were all smushed together in the container so that you could not pick them up. Perhaps something else from the menu would be better. The food was not bad, just nothing special. I gave it a four because the service and atmosphere was great.

My expectations were high because there have been lines out the door.

This was my first trip to Taco Mama, and boy, was I in for a treat!! I ordered the nachos with chicken. Toppings are unlimited, fresh, and abundant. These nachos aint for the faint at heart. They're massive and so delicious!! The staff was excellent and super friendly. I sat outside on the patio it had stormed earlier, and the outside was nice and quiet!! The young ladies checked me quite often and made sure i was ok or needed anything even raised an umbrella up so that I could move to a covered table. I stayed at my table though the gester was very nice.
Taco Mama Gardendale, you have my vote 10 outta 10 wpuld recommend!!

We've never visited any Taco mama so we decided to try it today and from start to finish it was AMAZING! We were greeted by destiny and she went over the menu quickly and friendly. She made sure to point out her favorites and the most popular options. We had tacos and the Mexican Mac n cheese and we loved it all. The staff was amazing and so helpful we made sure to tip well. The food was ok but an employee walked up to my son saying he looked familiar, asked if he had a daughter so my son asked her name which he looked her up on Facebook which is public and asked if it was her as she looked familiar to him as well. She complained to her boss that he made her uncomfortable!! Big issue was made as he was called outside by management!! SHE came to OUR table!!

I got there 10 mins before they closed, thinking I would need to order a to-go plate. Not only did the staff encourage me to stay and eat, they did it with a very positive attitude.. even though it caused them to stay late. AND the food is phenomenal! Hats off to ya, Taca Mama!!

My husband has had many opportunities to eat Taco Mama's and loves it. Finally I was able to enjoy a meal at your new Gardendale location. It was so good and I loved the atmosphere. Of course I am a "taco" kinda girl so you don't have to do alot to please me. It was so 👍👍 good.

I had an amazing experience at this taco mama! Great service from getting margaritas while waiting in line to being checked on multiple times while I ate. Although the wait times in line may be long, it is well worth the experience you get at the restaurant. Great atmosphere and delicious food!

I took was extremely excited to get a new restaurant in our area. I went for the first time last night. I ordered the nachos which came out lukewarm at best. Tons of chips and beans with very little chicken. I won't be going back. It's back to Taco Bell or Moe's for me. I wish I read the reviews before wasting my money.

When I heard we were getting a Taco Mama here I was SO EXCITED! We finally went Monday evening- it was SO GOOD! Friendly service, my favorite margaritas were perfect & the food was great! Loved the patio. Really happy to have this restaurant here! A wonderful addition to Gardendale !

We fell in love with Taco Mama's as soon as we walked in. It reminded us of a beachy atmosphere. Open air dining, happy and friendly serve team. We felt like we were in a different time and place. Everything seems to be at a slower pace, just relaxed and comfortable. Seeing so many friends from church and many friends from around town was so peaceful and calming. The portions were plentiful, tasted great, and were filling. It is truly a top-notch dining experience. Welcome to Gardendale, Taco Mama's! We dined right at lunchtime, and although there was a line to place our order, it moved quickly, and our food came just as quickly. Service with a smile doesn't cover the attention I saw every customer receive. Happy employees create happy customers, and that's what happens at Taco Mama's. I could go on, but you need to experience Taco Mama's for yourself,and soon!

Awful. Food was cold . It was overpriced and tasteless, tasted like a lot like Moe’s bland brand of “Mexican”. Won’t be back.

It's new to the area, and the lines have been consistent, but they move quickly. The food portions were more than enough, and the frozen margaritas were great. I decided to indulge in the pomegranate, and a friend tried the hodini(their spelling). The hodini tasted like the lime margarita, and they are the only margaritas that are frozen. The seating is indoor/outdoor, which is perfect! Especially on a good day.
