Estela was my waitress, she is professional and very friendly. I order a plate 🍽 of Carne Asada with lots of onions it comes with a nice salad 🥗, rice 🍚 and fried beans 🫘.
The atmosphere is great, very clean 👌 .
I recommend it. And for Desert order Nieve frita...

The food was average Mexican food, nothing entirely stood out as amazing. I expected the chimichanga to be larger but it was pretty small. The service was honestly bare minimum with our waiter. He was not super friendly and did not checked up on us much.

Drinks were awesome. I had a frozen pina Colada fantastic might I add. Service was great and the food was even better. I had the cheese enchiladas. No pics taken except for the drink.

Wow! The best little Mexican restaurant with a very upbeat vibe. A busy little place that seems to be popular with the locals. My Prickly Pear margarita was very good. We shared a plate of beef nachos which were on point. I love homemade guacamole & this did not disappoint.

I been coming to this place before it was called Maya Mexican. I remember it as Los Compadres. Though, the food is always good and fulfilling. 🌮 🌯 Pros, cons, and pictures below. Very authentic food. I just love it 😊. They will always get a (5)star rating.

Wife said she wanted something different so I started looking for a restaurant in the are we were going to be. Found this place and thought we would give it a try. The atmosphere was charming and inviting. The staff we warm and welcoming as we walked in. Our serve was patient and even offered some suggestions when asked. We each tried something new and different. I had the spicy burrito and my wife has the chicken fajita salad. Both were excellent choices. Mine was not overly spicy but well seasoned and delicious. Lucky for me my wife could not finish all Hera and I helped with the rest. I have never considered a salad like this, but let me say it was amazing. I ate everything and even scraped up all the lettuce just to get the very last bit. The vegetables and chicken were seasoned so well and they had such a pleasing flavor and taste. This place is out from where we normally run, but next time we are in the area we will definitely return. I was so very pleased, and I know you will be too.

I couldn't decide if I wanted a pineapple or the strawberry margarita so I just went ahead and asked could I have both and I had a beautiful red and he might yellow marble Frozen margarita in front of me, the taste was just as good as the look. I sort of had a peppermint glow to it perfect for Christmas. Next I had the trio fajitas which comes with chicken steak and shrimp with vegetables. I did not want any tomatoes or guacamole so I have no opinion on that. The steak was very tender. Bell peppers had a light crunch to do it, and there was plenty of tortillas automatically giving out which is so delightful. There was nothing fancy about the rice or beans but in all it was a great experience and great prices.

Please be sure to check your to go orders , they have several people filling your order and this will cause something to be left out. I personally ordered fajitas online for pickup and out of all things they forgot to put my wraps in the bag. After calling back to the restaurant, I was told that they have several people filling the order and one of them forgot to put the wraps in the bag , so please check your bag before you leave.

Ordered steak soft tacos and a steak quesadilla. Everything was great. Cheese dip is one of the best. Salsa has a little kick but not unbearable and it is smooth.

Went during lunch so it wasn’t busy. The drinks were terrible, all of us didn’t like them. Everyone was willing to keep their drink but I took 2 sips and they wouldn’t take the drink off my ticket or give a better drink option. There were gnats and the food had a weird taste, like soap or something. Use to like it, but DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I ordered dinner via DoorDash from here around 9:30 at night, and the quality of food was nothing short of amazing! I got the grilled steak burrito entree, chips and salsa, and a side of rice. The proportions are phenomenal, especially when paired with their reasonable pricing. I am not local to Homewood, but I would definitely drive out of the way to come and eat here in person.

Maya has great food. I always get either the fajita steak quesadilla or a chimichanga, and they are always delicious. They have quick service and a nice atmosphere. It’s pleasant to be there, and it smells good because of all the amazing food. Highly recommend those two dishes, but I’ve never had anything else. 9/10.

My sister Kay and Nephew Josh took me out for Mexican food and drinks to Maya Mexican Restaurant for my Birthday. It's located it Homewood right across the street from Zaxby's and The Neighborhood Walmart. I ordered the taco steak fajita bowl and it was awesome. The vegetables were fresh and grilled to perfection. I also tried The Blue Tsunami Frozen Margarita and let me tell you if you are not a drinker only order one. My nephew seemed to enjoy his Mayan burger and my sister loved her steak fajitas. She even had enough left for a to go plate. The waiter was fast and professional. The ambiance of the establishment was more on the sports bar side but they also have a deck where you can sit outside of that's not your things. Overall it was a great experience and I have already gone back twice for the fajitas.

First time to dine here. Very busy on Friday night. We were able to get immediate seating at the bar. The bartender was fantastic! He always had a smile on his face! He chatted and made sure we had what we needed without being intrusive. The beef fajita taco salad was delicious and the prices were terrific! We will definitely be coming back!

My friends and I have dined here for many years. Typically the margaritas are what we come for, however tonight's experience has me debating whether or not to return. I ordered a mango margarita. Two of my friends also had a mango margarita. I commented that my margarita had no flavor and my friends agreed. I informed the waiter and he suggested that my friends were drinking theirs so there shouldn't be an issue with mine. My friends commented that theirs lacked flavor as well- one of my friends actually bought an extra shot of tequila to try and improve the drink. The waiter stated he'd ask his manager if i could at least exchange my margarita for a regular. The waiter returned stating that there was nothing that could be done and suggested that I buy an additional shot like my friend did. I personally did not appreciate this angle of customer service.

We went here after a friend recommended it and had a great time! The cheese dip with chorizo is a MUST! The Al pastor tacos were also FULL of flavor and were very filling. We would definitely go back! It is a gem but not a hidden one, so make sure you get there early or after the rush on weekends! The Cadillac margarita was a big hit as well as the spicy mango frozen marg. I would definitely go back!

Food taste was rather bland. Burritos were beyond soggy, soaking wet, and not pleasant. I tossed out two of four or five entree orders (Spicy Burritos, Chimichanga). The other orders were eaten by three others, but not enjoy by anyone.

The man that waited on us was rude. I had to beg for more tea. Then I had to beg for napkins. He would only give me one at a time. I ordered a large cheese for our family he bought a small. We all ordered at the time ⌚ but half came out then 15 minutes later the other half. Then I tried to tip him more then I should have and he wouldn't take it. But I am sorry 15% for the job he did was over tipping. The others waiters seemed to be on top of everything. Not wheelchair or ASL friendly

The food was fine. The service took an unnecessary, unanticipated disappointing turn.

Our server was polite, funny, and unprofessional. He refused to ask a White male patron who was clearly violating the no smoking policy to move out of the outside dining area.

That's disgusting. Smokers that I know would not smoke near people who are eating. That staff walked away like a coward and allowed him to continue smoking boggles my mind.

when I ordered the vegetarian burrito and enchilada meal, there was chicken in it and I couldn’t eat it. I want to point out that they didn’t accidentally give me a chicken burrito, it was the vegetarian meal but a few bits of chicken had gotten into the dish. It needs to be separated better. It defeats the entire purpose of getting a vegetarian meal. Also their salsa is literally just a watery sauce. Not good.

We rate every Mexican restaurant on the Enchiladas. The sauce here is awful. Couldn't even eat it all.
Had the raspberry margarita and it was really good.
The chips taste like store bought.
We're traveling through and will NOT eat here again.

Maya Mexican Restaurant is one of the greatest eating place. Their food is is always on point, good, tasty and at a good price 😋 . The environment is good for couples, families and new dates 📅 💕.

Wow let me not forget their amazing background music; it just adds some icing on a cake. I would fail if a failed to recognize its workers... They are just awesome and welcoming.

My fajitas came out flaming and raw. The smoke was all in the face of the people seated at the table next to me. The salsa tasted like old tomatoes. It's safe to say I did not enjoy this dining experience at Maya Mexican.

Came about a week ago. I was able to get the kiwi margarita for like $3 bc it was a special. It tasted soooo good and I was given a blue sugar rim 10/10. I ordered nachos and a steak quesadilla with fajita veggies… yall the damn quesadilla was amazingggg. I wish I gotten more than what I ordered but I was full. The steak chunks were flavorful & juicy and the cheese was cheesin. Portion sizes are great! Also my waitress was super friendly and made sure I was accommodated in every way.

I've been to Maya's a few times and each time I go they are all very polite and welcoming!! All of the food that I've had so far has been delicious however; the portions can be a little more. The last visit I ordered chicken wings and they were very crunchy and delicious but they were soo tiny! The Margaritas are very tasty and I really enjoyed them.
The atmosphere is very quiet and relaxing, it's an awesome place to go with a friend, family, mate or even by yourself😍
