Everything here is 1st class! Namely, the service. The manager, Josafat is extremely nice and helpful. He makes great suggestions and is completely focused on customer satisfaction. The food here is also very, very good, and made with love. Ingredients are fresh and tasty. We will definitely be back…many times!!

Probably some of the freshest Mexican food I’ve had - even on a late weekday night! And the owner is great. I like that they use black refried beans instead of the normal!

If I could give a zero I would. We were driving through Birmingham on a roadtrip and stopped here for dinner. The soda was flat and salsa tasted like chemicals. The food was extremely bland and the meat was like eating rubber. As soon as we left my boyfriend had to go to the restroom next door to get sick. We went back and talked to the manager, Josafat, about a refund, considering we took two bites of our meal and left feeling sick. He said there is nothing he can do considering they already took our money. The best he can do is give us a discount on a future visit. One we aren’t from the area. And two, in all honestly we don’t think we will ever choose to be back here.

I’ve been looking for Frijoles Charros since I tried them in Florida and they’re so good here plus the pineapple margarita was delicious.

Great service as well, clean and organized place,
Definitely coming back.

Food was good. Our order was messed up but taken Care of. No one was there other than us but it may have been because of the weather. Overall this place was good!

Some of the best Mexican I have had! We had the table made guacamole and the enchiladas. 100/10 would recommend! We can’t wait to go to the Helena location!

Delicious every time! 🤩 chimichangas and enchiladas verdes are our favorites, but it’s hard to pick. We’ve been several times and ordered several different plates amongst our groups; we can’t find anything on the menu that we dislike. And the margaritas are really good, so we can always talk my sister o to going with us. 😆

The food, service and atmosphere was fantastic. The queso OMG. I had the fish tacos and they were delicious along with the charro beans, which paired great with my Michelada. I will definitely be back for more. Y'all better get down here and try it, you won’t regret.

Hands down one of the top 5 places I have ever eaten! The food tastes like grandma made it so delicious!!! You must give this place a try. You will not regret it I promise. If you like michiladas try one here, different taste than you would expect but super delicious!

Had the Brirria Tacos on the waiter’s suggestion. Fantastic. I will be back for another round of them. They looked just like the picture in the menu and tasted amazing.

In town for the week from Houston, saw there was a Mexican place nearby and gave it a shot. Was not disappointed. The food here rivals anything we have in the North Houston /Humble area, and I now know where I’ll be eating dinners this week.

Best Mole in town. Friendly staff. Great salsa. Margaritas on the rocks are great. Frozen not so much. Can’t wait to go back for the live music

BEST SERVICE AND FOOD EVER!! I have never had a in house margarita this damn good!! The owner is amazing and knowledgeable of tequila and mexican food. The food is fresh and amazing!! The drinks!! Are a whole new level for mexican spots in Alabama. If you dont go here you might as well eat taco bell!! 5 stars hands down! And they have live music on Thursday!! Don't play with me go there NOW!! 😊

Honestly, probably the worst Mexican Restaurant I've ever been to. The service was good, good servers and good management. The food was horrible. Very bland and not very much flavor. Seem very whitewashed. The salsa tasted like unsalted tomato sauce. Won't be back.

The food and drinks are always very good. I have dined at the Helena location multiple times and now at the Hoover location multiple times and have never been dissatisfied in the service or the food.

Ever since we moved from Texas two years ago, we've had a hard time finding a Tex-mex restaurant that we liked, but TODAY we found it at El Tejano!! The jalapeño margarita was fantastic. Great customer service.

I came here Saturday lunch and first service was great, I start with a pineapple mezcal it was a fire the best refreshing drink in town and last no least my 7 mares entree no kidding so tasty defenly coming back again highly recommended
