My son and I went here for a meal in between lunch and dinner hours. They were still rather busy but service was super fast! The food came out so quick that we were shocked. Fresh and hot!

I had the lunch special (11a - 3p) beef chimichanga. It was a generous portion and so tasty! My son had the chili relleno and loved his as well.

The menu's a bit worn and tattered. Could use some replacement. The decor is very colorful, festive and fun!

Will definitely be going back!

I like this restaurant. The food is always good and it comes out hot and fresh. The waiters are very friendly and nice. They always speak whenever you enter the building. That’s a big deal for me.

Just passing by and it seemed like this place had good reviews. I ordered their flautas which were well over fried . The chicken was even black. My boyfriend ordered the platter with three different enchilada sauces. He said it was very bland. The kids got nachos and a burger they didn’t complain there. My margarita was very bland. They said if we wanted queso so we did get that and it was good. I will definitely not be going back there on our way back home

First time here, Iron Bowl Saturday; a moderate crowd but I came to celebrate a relative's b'day. The service was excellent- my server was very responsive & they kept my sweet tea glass full, and the tea was perfect for my taste! The food was good, and about 5 or 10 minutes after we placed our order, most of our food was at the table. My sizzling chicken fajita was then brought to the table, and I got a shrimp taco a la carte. Before we ordered, we enjoyed the tortilla chips & queso. When I told them we're there for a b'day, they came & sang Happy Birthday to celebrate his b'day which was nice since most places don't do that since Covid. I will definitely be back.

First Mexican restaurant I've visited in a while with great margaritas. My food was plated sloppy but was very good. The guy at the front had me seat myself & it took a while for my waitress to take my order. Idk, I might visit again simply because of the margaritas. Good margaritas are hard to come by.

La cockroaches in the booth tonight I squashed the roach and the waiter took the napkin with the roach out of my hand immediately like it was absolutely nothing. Great Margarita tho! Told the people that were coming in about the roach and told the workers and no one cared. They like roaches.

I’ve been coming here for 10 years and never had an issue. I was sat at 8pm when they close at 9pm. I never go to businesses close to closing but I see that the parking lot was full so I decided to pull in after a long work week to get some food. I watched as families passed by and members of big parties were still arriving to meet their family and friends. I was told that “we close at 9” implying that I need to hurry up and order and leave. Manager/ owner was very rude. She came around to ask if things were ok. I told her what happened, thinking she would take care of it as the face of a restaurant. No. The server slammed my food down and walked away from my empty drink. I tried to grab another familiar server to help me but no one did. Still paid for what I ate. The manager did not address the issue and ignored me when I tried to ask why I was treated this way. Also tried to make me pay DOUBLE. Maybe as a manager, you should probably know the prices.

Habs is always a good place to sit down or carry out a quick and filling meal. The cheese dip, salsa, and chips are our favorite app and a must-have when we visit. We have been coming here for years and it's always been reasonably priced, but our carry-out was expensive tonight! $60 for a chicken and cheese quesadilla and an order of taquitos with rice and beans plus an order of cheese dip was over $60! I even questioned the amount when I was paying for the bill. I understand that everyone is going through a rough patch right now and it may be because this area of Hoover and Riverchase is becoming a Ghost Town. The food and shopping around the galleria has decreased significantly and businesses are moving out toward the MET/GROVE. I don’t know if this has something to do with it or if everyone is just seeing an increase in running costs across the board. This increase is very upsetting as groceries cost an average of $500 per week for the two of us, and dinner which cost probably five dollars to make costs us over $60 to take home. SMH! Ouch ouch ouch!

I was very happy with my outing to Habaneros. Even with the parking lots being pretty full, I was seated right away. My server was by shortly after and got my drink order. He was attentive but not overbearing.

Restaurant looked nice from outside. Inside was festive. No a/c or lack thereof so a little uncomfortable & I'm asian.
A little of a language barrier.
Food was ok. Typical mexican food. Orders didn't come out fully correct but enough to ask for what was missing.
Took awhile to get check. Retrieved our own to-go boxes.

Was not happy at all about this place. Wasn't the first time I had been there. It has gone down about as low as it can go sorry to say. It was one of my favorite Mexican restaurants to go to. I come all the way from Nauvoo just to eat there. The service was ok but just ok. Waiter didn't understand English very well. It caused my son not to eat. This was my birthday dinner and such a let down.
I ordered a shredded chicken quesadilla. There was plenty of chicken but it tasted like it came out of a can. Daughter in law had the grilled chicken quesadilla and it was floating in grease literally. She couldn't eat it and told the waiter when he finally came back. They didn't even remove it from the bill. I guess the best part of the dinner was the sweet tea and grandsons taco. I can honestly say unless they do something about the money we paid for food that wasn't eaten we won't be back.

Absolutely horrible service booth seat was worn out. waiter couldn't understand enough English to get my order so I didn't eat when my wife's chicken quesadilla came out it was swimming in nothing but grease and they still charged us for it highly recommend not going I know I won't be returning highly unsatisfied with the whole visit

I had higher hopes for this place. I've eaten at Habaneros before, just not this one. I ordered a fajita taco salad and was brought a regular taco salad with very little meat and lettuce, 1 large chunk of tomato and a whole lot of beans. It was good, but a salad should definitely have more than a sprinkle of lettuce. My husband got a burrito and 2 hard shell tacos. The burrito was great, but the taco shells were stale. The chips and salsa were great.

Greeted upon entry. Went last minute on a Saturday night not long before closing. Service was great. Food came out quickly and was tasty. Chips and salsa was good. Told the waiter the salsa was fresh and he brought out salsa Verde without us asking. Chimichanga was delicious and chicken/steak fajitas were good good. No issues. Will be back again.

I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that charges $5 for tortillas, $1.50 for sour cream, $5 for guac, extra for rice and beans, with a $14.95 fajita plate. Smh, I expected better from this location. I only came here because it was recommended by a friend. I won't come back, and I will not recommend this place to anyone. I feel ripped off. They also charge extra if you use a card.

We had been wanting to try Habaneros Hoover location after I had good experiences at the Alabaster location years back. We gave it a shot and it turned out to be a one and done visit. Let me preface by saying, this Habanero’s location serves a purpose and is always packed, so they clearly have a lot of people who like what it is, just know what to expect going in.
This restaurant somehow has the market dialed in on a clientele who’s lifestyle involves eating lunch at a gas station during the work day, and people with young misbehaving children. The food is pretty representative of the clientele’s expectations. Bland chicken and ground beef, sour cream, and that’s about it. It isn’t horrible, but it is what you would expect from a school cafeteria.
We had our waters brought to our table and one of them had an unwrapped straw already in it when it hit the table which lead me to believe it was grabbed by mistake and refilled from a previous patron, or was accidentally taken from an employee, either way I was not it’s first intended user of the night. I ordered fajita supreme nachos which came to the table with sour cream, guacamole, and a single tomato slice on-top of the meat and chips, no onion, peppers, beans, jalapeños, etc. My wife ordered chicken flautas which were over fried to the point that the chicken was black on the ends. Not sure if that is normal, or we just ran into a few chain of events that detracted from the experience. We both decided to abandon our meals after a few bites and cut our losses, we paid and left.

Either way, this place is loved by many as evidenced by their parking lot on any given night. If your value in a Mexican restaurant is an inexpensive meal, or a place that your children can beat on the table and throw chips on the floor, then this is the place for you. If you would like a more elevated experience, try Sol Azteca, 2 Pesos, etc.

Our waiter was adorable and very sweet. The customer behind us decided to break out in their singing voice very loudly. Not one of the staff members batted a eye or accosted this person. The singing was atrocious!!!! Our little boy was so shocked, he literally couldn't say anything but mom why. It's a very loud atmosphere. I personally love chaos and people making money with a smile on their face. The food is always so good. The drinks were 👌! I enjoyed this Mexican restaurant and hope to see everyone's beautiful smile and professional customer service skills very soon!!!

DO NOT EAT HERE! The customer service is HORRIBLE. The food also looks like slop. I called my order in and the lady who answered rarely knew English. I asked for jalapeños & I got bell peppers instead on my quesadilla. I tasted the bell pepper to make sure and it was definitely a bell pepper. They laid my quesadilla on top of the beans and the quesadilla was SUPER soggy and it was falling apart. I called & told them what happened & the lady said 3 times there was nothing she could do about it. She gave the phone to someone else & the manager said to bring it up there. When I got there, they were VERY rude. The manager tried to argue with me saying how it was a jalepeno and I ended up asking for a refund. She told me she could only give me $3 back!!!! They also gave racist vibes! I will NOT be back.

How you put bell peppers on my food an I literally told them JALAPEÑOS and she argued with me about that so I left it a will never return!!! I should have made her eat it but they are to rude!! Really enjoy eating here. My rice was cold my beans were cold, they expect you to tip well, but don't put forth the effort to make the food taste good or make it hot and fresh. When I returned our rice and beans because they were cold, they gave us back the same plate and food,as if they just put the food under a heater. Servers had bad attitudes when told about errors. They treat you like you are jus a table that they can get money from, not as customers. Good service and food is on life support.

Lady behind the bar speaks 0 English, couldn’t explain menu properly and got angry at me for not understanding her. Asked for somebody else to explain what she was trying to say - she waved her headed and began her gibberish explanation again.
She tried to charge me 11.25 for a quesadilla that has 8.95 price on the menu.

Went there this past Saturday around 5 pm. As soon as you open door and enter you get hit by heavy nasty smell of bathroom which are few yards away. Than they sit us on back of restaurant no ac and couple fans blowing warm air. They had a lots open seats on different area which I don’t know had air or not. Order two stakes and chicken fajitas steak were too tough that you could not chew onion and pepper were half burnt and after tell waiter the meat it is not steak and not tender and what cut is it he didn’t know and don’t bother asking a manager or someone else. At end I told three guys that standing about bathroom also told lady cashier none of them respond and told them some air freshener would help but no action. I took my leftovers home and just throw them away. Not going back no more never.

It was around 2 30 on a Wednesday right after the lunch rush, a colleague of mine and I sat down at a 4 top adorned with festive decor the likes of which may only be seen in the depths of actual mehheco. We were quickly greeted by a young man who was eager and delighted to meet and greet us. After a lively minute and a half of a very detailed drink special consisting of Coca Cola products and reginal favorites such as sweet and unsweetened tea we ordered and began our journey of the menu. What could only be described as authentic cousin from the vast lands of Mexico and South America was sin to be enjoyed by my companion and I. He chose a burrito supreme I believe it was called and I had a dish from the local area of Guadalajara called a chimichanga. The authenticity of every bite transported us both away on a vacation of flavor that took us away from work and stress of the car business and delivered us to relaxation and fun for what seemed like an eternity but was actually around 47 minutes. 5 stars, would return.

On Sept. 1st, I attended Habaneros in Hoover, AL, for a birthday dinner. 3 people in my party ordered the same entrée, the baked potato with steak & chicken. When their meals arrived, each one had shrimp instead of the requested meat option. Once noticed, the server was notified, he apologized, and the potatoes were sent back for correction. When the new potatoes arrived, they all appeared to have the correct toppings; however, once my friends reached the end of their meal, it was discovered that 2 of the 3 still contained shrimp. We contacted the server again and expressed our dismay. He offered to get another entrée but emphasized that management would not "offer a discount" or remove the items from the ticket... EVEN THOUGH it was clear that he wrote the order correctly and the kitchen prepared it incorrectly. When we went to pay, we noticed the manager and told her what had happened. Since one of my friends decided to take her incorrect potato home, the manager agreed to remove that one from the ticket, if it could be thrown away. The manager then stated that since the other incorrect potato was left on the table, no refund would be offered. When we protested, she stated that we should have requested a manager... EVEN THOUGH we voiced our concern to our server. This will be the LAST time I go to this restaurant. If you decide to dine there and you have an issue, REQUEST A MANAGER!! The Health Department WILL be notified.

La comida horrible nada que ver con lo que te muestran en la carta pedí tacos de pescado y me dieron esto horrible y un aroma apestoso no regresaría y no recomiendo aunque el mesero es atento la comida fea como de 8 platillos que pedimos ninguno fue bueno en todos te dan frijoles y arroz insipidos creo es su especialidad para simular la falta de calidad y claridad en los alimentos.

We love the Habaneros in Bessemer and decided to give the Hoover one a try. The food was great but the inside temperature had to be close to 80 degrees. It was miserable hot for eating inside. Not sure if that’s an always issue or a temporary issue but I don’t see myself going back to find out. I’ll stick to the one I know and love.

Beautiful building inside and out. All the food come out relatively fast. The only thing I can say was the service was also fast-paced; my server got confused with my order and left a few things out. All of the food was terrific overall. The margaritas are also very nice.

I’m visiting from Colorado but hands down one of the best Mexican places I ate in my life! Great atmosphere, hot fresh food, and friendly staff! Very very very impressed!

Always fast. Orders are always correct. Sweet tea is sweet as it should be. The Mexican guacamole is 👍👍👍

I order pork tacos at least once a month and get something completely different everytime. I think I'm going to give up and find another place that makes pork tacos because they are too inconsistent.
