So so good. The guacamole wasn't amazing but their plain avocado was. We got the flounder quesadilla, the grilled shrimp quesadilla, the pomegranate margarita (extra sweet). The servers were friendly and fast. I liked that this location at the time we went, wasn't crowded or too loud.

My party of 3 love, love, loved our experience at Taco Mama! No wonder their rating is so high. I had The Mayor chicken tacos with queso, my friend had the Alabama Redneck tacos and queso, and my daughter had the kid's cheese quesadilla. We all finished our entire meals and were super happy with every bite. We ordered at the counter, made our own drinks, and our food was brought to our table quickly. The line was almost out the door when we arrived on a Saturday around 1pm, but the line moved with ease. Our meals were served with restaurant style chips (nice and light and thin), and with a very good salsa. We had options for quite a few different hot sauces, and we liked the Pete's Sriracha added to the salsa the most to add a little heat. Overall excellent experience.

Great place, only complaint I understand you want folks to order before they sit down, but I had a group of 3 families with 8 kids in total. If I don't get them seated it's mass hysteria. I was sparing other customers the frustrations of children all over and there were more than enough tables for everyone to sit that was in line in front of us. No need for a manager to confront me in this scenario about seating before ordering. Food for thought.

We have visited this location many times. It's always busy but staffed appropriately to handle their crowd. I love they offer vegetarian options. The filings are similar to other location, pick a base, add a protein, and also toppings. What makes this place unique are the sauces. The sauces brings out the flavors of your taco, burrito, etc., if you like Cilantro, you are going to love the Cilantro Lime Vinaigrette. It's great on anything. This sauce is really offered as a dressing but it needs to be bottled up.

This go around we tried the tofu option instead of beef. No cheese, sour cream, and opted to add rice and slaw. We added the Cilantro Lime Vinaigrette and we weren't disappointed.

The ingredients tasted fresh and with the choices of different "free" toppings and sauces its priced fairly.

Went out on a cold night to have dinner and Taco Mama made our night! Blood Orange Margaritas, Fat Boy Barrito, and the Judge Barrito with Chip turned up the heat. Great Service and Staff. Ended purchasing a Gift Certificate for our friends to enjoy.

Food is fine, and once you can actually order, they bring it to you quickly.

But for the love of me, I can’t understand why they have two registers, but seemingly insist on having a line out the door for one register, while two employees stand by the second register doing absolutely nothing. Getting to the counter and placing your order takes forever.

The food was OK, but in their defense, we got our Food To Go. I think it would be much better to dine in. Our tacos were soggy and just sort of sloppy. If you’re over the age of 5, don’t eat here. Zero seasoning, they have no idea how to do salsa with any flavor, and they charge a ridiculous amount. If you have kids, I get it. But adults need more than just the appearance of Mexican food.

Tried out this place for the first time. Wow. Attentive and friendly service for my pick-up order. Pork was super favorable and the side of chips was enough to feed four people. Only downside, no utensils or napkins in the bag.

First off.. this is the best taco momma in birmingham. Secondly. FRANK.... I don't know if he was the manager or just a good a$% Waiter but he was amazing. I got there before the rush and sat outside before I knew it.... it was packed to capacity. Plus it a Friday 6pm.... so I decide to pack my food up and leave because it was just too load for me. My add kicked in. Before I knew after going to the bathroom they had cleaned my table and threw my food away. I spent $39 plus some change and I was like wait... what happen to my food. No problem. FRANK to the rescue. He remade my food and I left smiling. I had to ask his name so I could leave a review. I truly enjoyed the whole staff that I interacted with.with that being said... amazing experience..

Taco Mama is always a fantastic place to grab a bite to eat. I am a big fan of barbacoa tacos and these did not disappoint! The restaurant had a very warm and inviting atmosphere that called me in without hesitation. Definitely will be coming back!

We have been here many times. In the beginning it was good but not great. In recent months it seems to have gotten a whole lot better to the point that this is one of our regular restaurants. Even my son likes to eat here. We will certainly be back often.

While the food and service was great, it was a little cramped and extremely busy. The busy wasn’t their fault, but Taco Mama is pretty popular and their restaurants probably need more breathing room.

We just left here and had them remake our food twice for being cold. Then some guy who was working the floor said the toppings being cold made my chicken and cheese cold lol. Oh yeah it had just hit the table to for the second time and I immediately went in for some chicken to see and sure enough it was worse than room temperature. I ordered shredded chicken nachos and my girl ordered steak nachos. We will never be back there. We are from Huntsville and just happen to be in this part of Alabama today. Had the urge for Mexican food both of us very hungry. Neither one of us got more than four or five bites down and our appetite is completely gone, we are no longer hungry and we know to not come to taco mama here ever again. Sorry for this bad talk about your place but get some new food preps and cooks and your restaurant will come alive because the atmosphere, service and staff were great, other than the cooks who prepared the food. My name is Justin Benjamin and I have no reason to lie about this Taco Mommas in Hoover, Alabama. I really hope this helps someone out on finding good Mexican food in the Hoover, Al area… oh yeah and we don’t know if they bring chips and salsa out for you like everybody else does but we did not get any chips and salsa brought to our table.

OMG. Catering service is almost half of what I have received the previous 4 times I have used. Ordered for 20 spent $363.54 and got less food for my money. 10 shells. Small containers of condiments. What does that mean. It means now I have to go to Publix and fight traffic and the check out lines and purchase enough food for 20. Everything thing has been cut. Portions of jalapenos, queso, lettuce and tomato. Salsa whatever. Less chicken and steak. Is this inflation? Pay the same and get less. Wished you would have told me about all the short cuts you guys are making and maybe I would have spent more. Next party I will have to figure out something else. Feel I I have have scrooged.

The Barbacoa quesadilla was good enough for me to return for another, the next day. The staff was friendly. It may be a little difficult to find an open parking spot at lunch time, but it is worth the search.

Always a nice lunch spot. Staff is friendly and fast even when busy, outdoor seating is nice when it’s not 1000 degrees out. I always get the three huger but they have a couple other vegetarian options as well. It’s a ton of food! Also the margaritas are great!

Maintains the solid quality you expect. I finally made a visit to the "most suburban" of Bhm locations:
Hoover, Vestavia (Hwy 31), the Summit, Crestline Village (MB), Edgewood (Homewood) are all excellent. I applaud their consistency and ability!

I have been to multiple Taco Mama the past few years. This place has never used an ounce of seasoning on anything, and this makes the overpriced food taste even less worth it. As long as all the young girls, and their moms, all with no palate keep coming here I guess they don't mind.

4 of us had dinner here. Service was good. Food was not significantly better than some other Mexican establishments in the area. I had 3 tacos. Chips are really awesome though. Salsa not so much to my liking, very little heat. Might go back and choose something else.

The tables are spread out enough so an early dinner you're not bumping elbows with other diners. An excellent selection of margaritas and so many ways to have a healthy meal. I chose a burrito bowl for lower carbs and it was fantastic.

Taco Mama at Trace Crossings is top notch! Their food is fresh, tastes amazing, and despite lines out the door, your food comes out quick. Their wait-staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome, and happy with your order. I love all of the Taco Mama's, but this location is my favorite because of the customer service. Management knows what they are doing, and it shows! Also, their drink menu is sublime, plus they have seasonal options, so I am always looking forward to favorites coming back around. Don't sleep on this restaurant- go see for yourself!

I’ve been to this Taco Mama a lot but we recently had an above the top experience! We came to celebrate a sweet 16 birthday and all ended up being later than planned due to traffic so we hit a huge dinner rush. The staff were so accommodating to help us pull together tables outside for our 12 people. They checked on us frequently and made sure we had everything we needed to celebrate our birthday girl. I recognize we were not the most convenient or easy party with our timing but you would have never guessed it based on their attitudes and helpfulness. Thank you Taco Mama!
