Had a Chimichanga and enchilada. Chimi was very full of chicken and very flavorful. Chips were nice and hot when served. Very good salsa as well.

This was our favorite place for chicken fajitas when we lived here 15 years ago. I was in town for work and decided to visit again. Great to see that they’re still here and survived COVID (can’t say that for GIBSON’s BBQ).

Chips and salsa are still good.

Great fajita chicken salad and Pollo Verde. You can always bet on a good Mexican restaurant when the salsa is outstanding. El Herradura is a great go to when we are planning a trip to Huntsville.

Really nice staff and really good food! Only complaint was when i ordered enchildas i wasnt asked if i wanted beef chicken or pork and was given beef without question! They just need to double check before just assuming! Other than that we ate outside. It was really nice to eat outside!

I was actually in the mood for sushi, but the place I choose is closed on Tuesday, go figure. I visited this place many years ago, but don't think I reviewed it (that was a lunchtime visit for their buffet). The ambiance here is typical for this type of eatery.
I was seated quickly and my beverage order taken. The waiter forgot to bring chips and salsa, but an observant employee spotted it and took care of the me. The chips were crisp and fresh, the salsa very pedestrian, but there was hot sauce (three different kinds) on the table to fix it.
One of my tests for any Mexican/Texmex restaurant is beef or shrimp chimichanga, I ordered the beef, and it was served with refried beans and rice. The chimi was NOT stuffed with ground beef - it was shredded beef, which was a pleasant surprise. It was quite delicious, and plenty of food for most appetites, the refried beans were a little thin but had plenty of flavor, as did the rice. The waiter was just pleasant enough to not earn a star off.
The restroom was typical and VERY clean.
I can see this as a regular stop when craving TexMex!

Mixed feelings about this restaurant; The food quality and service throughout the week during lunch hours when it's not too busy are excellent. The food is hot, fresh, and delicious. Dinner on a Friday or Saturday night with a packed restaurant is not advisable - our experience suggested that they just can't keep up with the crowd by serving fresh, hot food in a timely manner. With a full house, our order of 3 entrees was brought out in less than 5 minutes which was very suspicious. Unsurprisingly, the plates were hot but the food was ice cold, suggesting that a lot of the dishes may have been premade and set out (for who knows how long). If I go back, I'll stick to a weekday lunch.

Your pretty standard American Tex-Mex. Food was meh (basic enchiladas, chilaquiles doused heavily in cheese, heuvos rancheros eggs cooked to rocks).

The service was great, attentive and quick.

I have been here before about 6ish years ago, and it was amazing. Today, not so much. The cheese in my enchilada was grainy tasting the chicken taco. It was pretty disgusting that I only took one bite. 15 min after leaving the restaurant, I started feeling nauseated. I will say our server was extremely nice.

Every time I go here I love what I have. They are the only Mexican restaurant in the area that has a spicy alternative to the the nacho cheese everyone in this region seems to put on their food. The service is always speedy. They have great margaritas, too!

Everything was great until we were leaving. Two members of the staff were sitting at a table and stared at my friend and said something in Spanish and they both started laughing. It was very awkward and made us feel very uncomfortable.

I visited El Herradura for the first time in awhile a few nights ago. Usually we have very good service and the food/drinks are 👌
This visit was very different. My margarita was mostly mix. Cheese not melted on quesadillas. Half of my party received their food and it was almost 10 minutes before the rest received theirs. Server only came to the table to take our order and bring it out. Someone else dropped off the check. Drinks were never refilled.
It was a very disappointing visit.

Come here often with my girlfriend, and have never had a bad experience. The service is always great, they're never late to a refill, and the tables are clean. Portion sizes are great for the price, you'll almost always have a to-go box. Everything on the menu is fantastic, and it gets out to you quick, although sometimes individually. Normally the rest of the food is only 45 seconds to a minute away so it isn't a massive gap. Recommend this place to anyone who's simply looking to eat some good Mexican food.

The food here is decent. The drinks are pretty good and not too expensive. The reason I give only three stars is because their customer service is awful! If you don’t order all the drinks you want when the server is taking your very first drink order, then forget about getting one! Ordering dessert is impossible. They brought us our check before we could even ask about desserts!
On a different occasion we came here for take-out half an hour until closing time, and they refused to take any over the phone take-out orders(claiming the kitchen closed half an hour before closing!), but (we were in the parking lot, just wanted to go home at this point) we watched them seat a couple that walking in. The laziness and rudeness of the staff here is just so surprising.
The last time we visited this place for take-out, we were informed that the “vegetarian” entrees are served with the same refried beans that contain lard that they serve on every plater. I have an allergy to these products and the man we were speaking to openly admitted they done this with full knowledge of the inclusion of pork in the beans. There isn’t any way lard can be considered vegetarian as it is a pork product. This place should be shut down for intentionally violating not only moral but dietary needs. Absolutely love this place. They are like family. They take pride in getting to know their customers. I can walk through the door and am greeted by numerous staff members and they know my drink just by seeing my face. Quality service, food, and they go over and beyond to build a positive rapport with their clientele. Highly recommend.

El Herradura is absolutely my all time favorite family dinner spot. The food is outstanding and they even have a chicken nuggets/fingers and fries for kids and or adults that don't like Mexican food. My family and I really enjoy coming for family dinner night.

Adorable small restaurant, with immediate service, and a great atmosphere. Their queso is my favorite, taquitos are crispy perfection with well-seasoned meat and they're the only place I've been to recently with amazing guacamole. Huevos con Chorizo is TO DIE FOR!
