Colorful place with good food and good service. The only drawback for me is when I go out to eat with friends I like to be able to enjoy a conversation as well as a good meal. The musician singing was good but it was just too loud and prevented our table from engaging in any kind of meaningful discussion. But I will be back because my tacos for perfectly splendid.

Got steak Fajitas and a enchilada. The steak was overcooked and dry. Nice portion size. Overall not bad place. Fast friendly service. Prices are very reasonable as well.

My boyfriend took me to breakfast after work this morning, and we had the best meal! This was our first time trying this spot. We will certainly be back to check out their lunch/dinner options. Great food, polite friendly service, clean dining area, and wonderful atmosphere! Gracias! 👍🏼👍🏼

Hands down, my favorite Mexican Restaurant in town. Love this place. Good food, good service, great atmosphere and reasonable prices. Love coming on Trivia Nights…always a fun time. If you are looking for great food, tons of options and a family atmosphere…this is your place. Their Watermelon Margaritas are yummy (especially with a sugar rim).

We just recently started visiting this place after seeing it for a couple of years. Glad we did. Food is good and reasonable. This time I had the taco salad. I loved all of it except the taco shell was a little soft (which is why the 4 stars this trip). Son had a large burrito and ate every bit and husband had tacos which he said were great and filling. Love the atmosphere and friendly service. We'll be back!

This was super delicious, we came in at 1pm post lunch rush, and the food was absolutely delicious. I got the huevos con chorizo, and it was devine. 10/10 would go back and try the whole menu

I’ve been twice now. Food was ok/fine. Nothing special but not bad on either occasion. Service was ok. Food did come out fairly quickly. In a combo plate one of my items (the burrito) was half cold half warm. Something about a microwave dinner at a restaurant is a let down. I was surprised by the service up charge for using a credit card. I’m assuming it’s noted somewhere but I missed that notice. I’m not planning to go back.

Too hot. Dead of summer. Barely any A/C. Live singer in restaurant was so loud. Then we were sat right in front of him. Plenty of other spots to sit. Server never waited on us, after 15 min of no drink order or chips and salsa offered we got up to leave and they showed up finally. So we stayed. The food was sub par at best. I asked for sour cream sauce on my chicken enchiladas and got a bowl of actual sour cream instead.

Party of 8 at breakfast. Kitchen was slow, orders were undercooked on every plate. Husband became sick afterwards. Complete embarrassment bc we brought out of town guests. Will not return.

We drive all the way across town and pass many restaurants in order to eat at El Vaquero. The atmosphere is good, the food is great and they seem to genuinely appreciate you coming there. They have several nights of free music entertainment.

It was bad. My dinner was an enchilada combination and it was hard and the cheese was congealed. My beans were runny and I had to scrape them with a fork as there was no spoon. I had planned to ask the server for one but they never saw my party of four after putting the food down. Now they were over several times when the check was ready. So service equaled the quality of food. For the atmosphere they had a live musician but he was playing and singing so loud in such a tight area that it was headache inducing. Sadly I had forgotten my noise cancelling headphones. I also am glad my partner didn't have me bring my walker as it was so cramped it would have been unusable.

Been to this restaurant several times and always had a good time and a great meal. The food is always tasty and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The owner, Alex I believe, always comes by to make sure everything is good and say hello. The atmosphere is great with live music and a vibrant vibe. Would recommend trying the fajitas and nachos, always delicious and great portions for the price.

I have been ordering delivery from this Mexican restaurant for about 3-4 years and the food is always excellent. However, in the past few days the menu options for delivery have changed. It now has a very limited menu. I am very disappointed.

🚨 Hidden Gem Alert 🚨 Well, at least to us…Neeley and I have been talking about trying this place for breakfast ever since we went to the Lowe’s next door and looked it up on Maps and saw they opened at 6am/7am…This place did not disappoint! We couldn’t find any Mexican entrees on Maps but figured we would try it anyway and so glad we did! From the Banana Chimichanga & B&G to the Machaca Wraps/Burritos and Chilaquiles, everything was delicious! And you’ll be hard pressed to find better service…ask for Rosie when you go but I suspect all the servers are great. We are already looking forward to the next time we can get down there for breakfast! It was packed by the time we left…

This is our favorite go-to spot for Mexican. It is similar to many of the tex-mex kinda food in the area. The staff, kitchen salsa (upon request), and temperature of food make it stand out. It's always an enjoyable experience!

The food itself was good but we had ordered a cheese sauce to go with the chips but had not gotten it by the time our food had come. I told the waitress to cancel the cheese sauce but didn't quite understand. She thought I was trying to order one with my dinner. I had to explain 2 or 3 times I no longer wanted one. I understand English is not their first language but please understand better

The best actual Mexican food in town, the best atmosphere. Great bar as well. Cool people come here. Get the street taco plate or today amigos fajitas they're both amazing and get a couple of the gigantic Modelo cold draft beers. You will not be sorry!!!!

Came here for a Sunday breakfast. The egg omelet was fresh and tasty. I don’t think our server fully understood English. The music, tvs, were too loud (I’m getting old I guess). I am planning on come back to check out other items on their menu.

Food was good. Only complaint is that the waitress with the green pony tail used the bathroom and then did not wash her hands. Makes me question the cleanliness of everything at that point. Glad she wasn't out waitress.

Food is absolutely delicious. Only one of two places I trust for good chorizo and cheese sauce. I recommend the nachos, El Presidente, and surprisingly, the hot wings. Perfectly cooked, and the fries are hot and crispy.

Unfortunately, I've also noticed there's an addendum on the credit card receipt that says if you use a card, you're charged an extra 3% on your tab. I was surprised by this as I haven't heard someone say anything about it or have it posted where it's easily seen.

I'm going to keep going back for the food, and I'll remember to grab cash so I'm not paying for something I didn't get.

Give them a try on live music night, y'all, it's fun!

OMGosh, Ive been obsessed with this place lately. Every dish I try is great. My only complaint would that it was so busy in one of the rooms, we couldn't hear each other talk over the loudness of the customers in the room.

Good food typically hot when it comes out. Most times I eat there on off hours so cannot speak to rush hour service. Never had a bad meal there and to people I have recommended it to they also have a good option of it. Draft beer generally has Ice crystals in it 😊

El Vaquero has the most flavorful Mexican food I've had in Huntsville - which is saying a lot, as I've had most restaurants' bean burrito in the area. This one takes the cake for, though not necessarily being the best texture (La Placita takes that prize), having the best flavor. The chips and salsa here are great too, think Phil Sandovals salsa with thicker chips.
My one nitpick is that I feel the vegetarian combos here are a little strange - almost everything that has a bean burrito has to come with a chalupa. I havent experienced that issue in other Mexican restaurants, but next time I'll just try to place a custom order.

Really disappointed with my food. Ordered three tacos. I rembering them to be full of beef and overflowing with lettuce and cheese. What I received reminded me of Taco Bell tacos at midnight. Second experience like this so I had to revise my previous review.

Friendly staff, great food (I am from Texas, so yeah), and the best thing - this place is open on Sundays. Nothing else in the area is. This is our go to after working on a house. And it is conveniently located close to Home Depot and Lowe’s. ;)
