Mexican Express

OMG. So amazing. It's a take out place only, but the salsa, and Mexican beef enchiladas, with thick refried beans with rice were off the chain!!!
So recommended!!

Don't hesitate to give Mexican Express a try.

We moved across town and hadn't been there lately, but we sure have missed it. We made the trip today and am glad to report that nothing has changed. The food is still excellent. The beans and rice are the best in town. If you like your beans thick, dark and cheesy {think El Palacio) you are sure to love them. The entrees are just as good - thick and meaty, and a really good value.

If you call in your order a few minutes in advance you will be in and out in a flash. The place has been here for a very long time, so the owners know how to do things right. They pretty much have it down to a science. We will definitely make the trip more often from now on.

Oh yes... this is a take-out/delivery place only, so "atmosphere" is pretty much irrelevant.

10/28/2024 - We just enjoyed another meal from Mexican Express, and I was compelled to give them another shout out. NO WAY can you beat this place. Thanks, guys! 👍

The food is really good and simple, and cheap! I love the vibe of this place and it's employees. Don't come expecting authentic Mexican food, there are plenty of other places around the area for that, but this is the only Tex-Mex place around like this, and they do it really well!

I have been a patron of this establishment for over 8 years. The staff is the best you could ever have the pleasure of interacting with. They present you with a smile when you pick up your order. They are very pleasant and courteous when taking your order over the phone or in person. The size portions are more than enough for two.
My order has only been wrong once since I've ordered from them. My favorite food is Chile Relleno. My daughter is the burrito. My son is the quasadilla. It's always hot and delicious.
Plus, the tea is great.

The best chicken tacos I've ever had because it isn't like other Mexican restaurants. Can't explain it, you just have to try it.

Anytime I'm in town I make sure to stop by. It's not in the glamorous side of Huntsville, but then again, it's Alabama so even the nicest areas aren't really that glamorous either lol.

Was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. Took my order right away. And the prices reasonable. And when my order was done it was brought right to my car. And the taco salad was amazing the beef and the chicken. My niece loved the tostadas.

Holy moly this place was awesome. This place is the second-coming of El Palacio. I just discovered it, but I think it's been here for a long time. The beans were spot on, the chile relleno and cheese enchilada were to die for. The hot sauce was a dead ringer for that of the old yellow sombrero. If you ever find yourself getting sentimental when you pass between Governor's and Bob Wallace you need to turn on Bob Wallace and check this place out. You can thank me later.

This is the 2nd time we've eaten here and oh my God we LOVE it!! First time, I got the lunch special burrito and chalupa with rice and beans...delicious! This time I got the lunch special with 2 enchiladas and guacamole salad. I literally had to stop myself so that I would have leftovers. It's my order from now on. My hubs got the soft tacos both times and loved them! 10 out of 10 we will be back. Incredibly fast service and awesome, friendly staff. If you're craving Mexican food, GO HERE!!

Been several years since I have eaten here. Lunch special with chili relleno , chicken enchilada rice beans. Good and very cheesy. Like the thick beans rather than thin and runny. $8, will be back.

This is and has been my favorite Mexican place in Huntsville for 25years at least. When I moved back to Huntsville after 10 years I stopped on my way into town before even getting a place to stay. Prices are fantastic, service is fast and the food is great.

My family loves the food from here. We have been customers for years. Always professional, curtious, accurate and timely. The food is high quality you may not expect from delivery & reasonably priced. The info says "small plates" but I don't think that's accurrate. There's lots of yummy leftovers! I recommend the taco salads, guacamole salads & the quesadillas...they are huge! So check them out and tell a friend!

The food was freshly prepared and I love the many choices of specials there is something within all price ranges. The portion sizes are generous. I love them because they are generous with the ground beef without requesting and paying extra for it. If you want a Tacobell walk and eat burrito that's not how it's be done here. There burrito is more like a Tacobell enchirito back in the old days but supersized. They have onions, and sour cream, ECT... but usually have to ask for it depending on what you order.

Excellent food and huge portions. This place is certainly a good value. They have all the normal Mexican food favorites along with an a la carte menu. The service is fast. Note that they only do take away. There are no tables inside.

It's located on Bob Wallace right across from the Nook. Would go again.

We LOVE this place! The guy upfront is very friendly and funny. Hes patient when taking your orders and the food is amazing. The chicken nachos- our favorite. Salsa is hot but has a very good taste to it! I would recommend to everyone!

I’m new to Huntsville and have been searching for a Mexican restaurant that I can always use as a ‘go to’ when in the mood for Mexican food. I found it. Exceptional prices, plenty of food, and the business owners seem really down to earth. I had the lunch special-taco, burrito, rice, beans, and sweet tea...very satisfied!

It ain't glamorous, fancy, or pretty, but it's inexpensive and pretty tasty. If you don't get absolutely stuffed here for under $10, you might need an intervention. This isn't an authentic taqueria, but it is a good old school Americanized Mexican food joint.
