Taco Mama - Jones Valley

Now THAT’S a Taco Mama!! Fun joint. Family friendly, great atmosphere, plenty of room and moderately priced. Fresh ingredients and well presented. Walk up counter ordering then delivered to your table. It was a busy Friday evening and the service was fast and friendly. Basic as the hills, but if you like tacos, this is your place. And what a great salsa! With beer and margaritas to boot.

My husband and I frequent this restaurant once a week. It is amazing, the staff is phenomenal, and the food is exquisite. We went tonight and the salsa was extra delicious! I made sure to tell Megan, the manager, and she was delighted. 🥰 We had to get extra because it was that good.

Enjoyed the food. Staff were great. Food was a bit pricey. The location may have had something to do with it. The setting appeared to be an old garage. Not sure if that was on purpose or the space had previously been something else (a garage?)? Anyway, I didn't think it had too much of a Mexican food taste or seasoning. Probably not enough, really. But it was pretty good American food.

A couple of weeks ago I ordered Taco Mama taco catering for a party that was held today. Happily all of the food was delicious and the attendees enjoyed it very much; but there was a "problem" - even though everyone ate their fill the order was so generous (I ordered for 22 people but it seemed more like 220) I had to clean out my réfrigerator to make room for the leftovers! I'm very pleased, and would definitely recommend Jones Valley Taco Mama for party catering.

Taco Mama is so good! I absolutely love the fun staff, the super healthy yummy options and how fresh everything is!

I checked them out at a Huntsville Convention and it was such a great experience! 10/10 would recommend!

I've enjoyed Taco Mama since they originally came to HSV. I always get the same bowl. This location does it best, esp compared to near the Hospital (they tend to put whatever they want as long as its similar to what I ordered). Prices are awesome. Food always fresh. Drinks are delicious too, not too sweet depending on which you pick, and they are priced fairly for alcoholic beverages.

I hadn't eaten at a Taco Mama location since B'ham many months ago but remembered the food was very good.

The Jones Valley location did not disappoint!

Visited at lunch for takeout during the week. I was greeted promptly by a very friendly and knowledgable counter worker who cheerfully answered some menu and side(s) questions.

Even during the busy lunch hour, my order was ready in approximately 5 minutes.

The "Judge" burrito was very good and I got the queso and salsa with chips side, which was also very good. I figured out why they call it the "Judge," because it will judge the size of your stomach!

Great place to eat outside on a nice spring day. Great indoor atmosphere as well. Beer is available as an additional drink option;
Sometimes a must-have with Mexican food.😁🍺👍

I ordered the 2 hard shell taco plate with hamburger. The tacos were small and the hamburger was greasy. The chips & guacamole were ok. Not worth the $14 price.

Counter service with a screen that asks for a tip. Normal but obnoxious. The prices are completely out of line with both quantity and quality. $19.00(!) for two modestly filled tacos, a pile of mediocre chips, and some watery salsa with a coke. Not sure how they remain in business. I will not waste my money there a 2nd time.

The food is always great! Not greasy, always fresh, and their customer service is always top notch. The moment you walk in, someone is making sure you’re taken care of. I cater from them a lot, and they are always so helpful, each and every employee.

Taco Mama is so consistent. I know what I'm going to get will be fresh and delicious.

Their restrooms are clean and the changing tables are at a great height.

My only complaint is that I have to remember to ask for lime with my drink. They only keep lemon by the soda machine.

My husband and I visited on a hot Sunday afternoon, the environment and dynamic of the restaurant was perfect, the service was great, but the aftermath was atrocious…explosive diarrhea is an understatement. I lost 3 rolls of toilet paper behind one meal. KEEP THE PEPTO CLOSE.

Taco Mama was great a couple of years ago when their tacos were $10-12. Now at $15 for two small tacos the value just isn’t there. The chips and queso is some of the best though

Gluten Free!
They don't do a very good job of telling you how great of a job they do.

We've lived here for years and can only eat at places that are able to accommodate a gluten allergy.

This Taco Mama staff fully understood our concerns and ensured the kitchen staff knew we were ordering for someone with an allergy.

My wife is highly sensitive and cannot even walk into a pizza place. Well, she had no issues at all. So, for our celiac friends out there, you can eat here with no fear. Just stress the allergy.

Now, onto the food. Mine was only OK. But not the fault of the staff. I ordered the wrong thing. That item was made very well, just not what I wanted. Again, that was my fault.

Everyone loved the food and was talking about wanting to go back before we even made it back to the car.

If you haven't eaten here yet, please do so soon. These folks deserve your business.

EDIT: Second visit was even better than the first. Margheritas were a little strong but still very good.

My daughter's favorite eatery, and I understand why. Service is great. The food was fabulous and fast. The atmosphere is casual for the time of year. It'd be nice to go back when it's warm enough to sit outside.
We built our own burrito. They were huge! And delicious. Just enough chips come with, so a side of cheese and guacamole, and we were set.

One of our favorites in this area. We love their chips and salsa. The green salsa is my favorite! Their steak bowl is great. All of the free toppings are an added bonus we love too! Margaritas are good and strong.

Coming from one of the top capital cities for Mexican food, I rate Taco Mama as average. Ordered the cheezy beef taco. The barbacoa was dry, and a very small amount of cheese. The quality of corn tortilla not good, didn't withstand the wetness coming from the amount of salsa that was in the taco. Chips were stale as well. The guacamole was tasty. Friendly staff. Promptness of food good. My visit was around 2:30, dine in.

I had had a very bad day and just needed to be greeted by great people and that was 10000 percent what I got. I was even sitting on the front patio crying dealing with my life falling apart and the sweetest girl with cute short curly blonde hair came out and check on me twice just because she cared. I always LOVE Taco Mama, they never disappoint. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is lively, and the staff are nice and helpful. There's also outside seating if you don't want to sit inside! I got a chicken burrito bowl, chips with salsa, and an Alabama Redneck taco. As always, Taco Mama has impressed!

Overall I enjoyed taco mama and will come back to eat here regularly. The restaurant is clean, and the service and staff is excellent- extremely inviting and enjoyable to be around. The food to me however, was good but nothing that really wowed me. For what you get, it’s a little on the expensive side, and the flavors are unique. Not bad by any means, just not my favorite. All in all, If you’re looking for a fun place to eat and drink, this is the spot.

Food is extremely overpriced. It’s an expensive Taco Bell only doesn’t taste as good. Moe’ s is better as well. About the same price, but you fix your own stuff there so you only have yourself to blame if it isn’t good. My tacos here literally had some steak slapped in the shell with avocado on top. For $15? No thanks. The Judge Burrito was bland. Quesorito isn’t even on the menu anymore. Kids quesadilla is bland as well. Very nice and attentive hosts is the one positive.

Fast, fresh. The build your own taco/burrito option works great for me, as the regular menu choices tend to have condiments I don't prefer. The shredded chicken is good, the ahi tuna can be a bit odorous. The guacamole isn't fancy but it's bright green and fresh. The atmosphere is open, casual/fun, and a bit loud. Outdoor seating is a nice option, but the cars and trucks passing thru with loud exhausts can ruin it like they do everywhere else.

Great value for all of the items, especially the create your own items. The quesadilla can have an insane amount of ingredients on it for only $10 and I save half of it as leftovers.
