Baja California Grill

The food was good, but the service was amazing. Their guacamole was smooth, seasoned well, and delicious. I had the beef chimaconga with out beans and rice, it was good. My daughter had cheese pizza and fries. Her comment was "It was good, but tasted the same as all the other Mexican restaurants we go to." She's 8 and has her own ability to make decisions.

Never have a bad experience here! Good food, good service, and it’s not a wallet killer like some other places are these days! I’d personally recommend getting the dish called Javier’s Chicken, it is fantastic!

Great place!! Me and my mother came here together and when we walked in, we were very happy with the atmosphere. When we sat down, our waitress was very kind and understanding, probably one of my favorite waitresses I've ever had! We ordered our food and it came way quicker than we had expected. The food was AMAZING! I definitely enjoyed my visit!!

This is my favorite mexican restaurant I have ever been too. Everything that I have ever got from here was very good. Salsa, cheese dip, and fajitas are all some of my favorites. Decor is cool and staff is friendly would are recommend

Went with a party of eight and before I sat down, I wanted to order a margarita from the bar to bring to the table. They refused. Said I couldn’t order and pay for a single margarita at the bar because I was going to sit at a table. I almost left, but again I was with a party of eight. So I ended up waiting 20 minutes for my margarita to come because he took everyone’s order first. Some of the worst, if not the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life. Three people ordered this monstrosity burrito and all ended up sick. Yeah, the prices are good, but the quality is terrible. I’d rather pay more. I’m will try again and if they refuse me service at the bar, then I’ll have some strong words with the manager this time because it won’t be with a party of eight and than I’ll promptly leave. A manager is rude as all get out. The only reason this place is in business could in a small town with very little competition, And no Mexican competition. Struts makes a killer loaded nachos.

Ate here for lunch and I must say. It truly felt like I was in the ocean while eating. Hearing the waves crash, that ocean breezy flowing, spectacular! Food was 10/10

As outta towners, stopped in after a short bicycle ride on Chief Ladiga Trail. Great find!!!! Amazing!!!! Had to re-check the map to confirm that we were in AL and not TX. Everything about this place is huge; huge flavors, huge portions, huge hospitality, huge building able to host large groups. The price for 2ppl was $22.22 (a bit high since 1 of us ate a plate of fajita sides as the entree). Well worth the stop. Will visit again when in the 'hood. Lastly, they prefer cash; use of a credit card will incur a 3% fee.

Our party of 3 dropped in for an early dinner. We were seated immediately. Service was prompt & friendly. I highly recommend the Taco Truck entree. Two of us chose this entree with Pastor, Carnitas, Hawaiian & Steak. They were all tasty, but the Hawaiian is EXCELLENT! I'll be ordering all 4 Hawaiian next time.

I frequent this establishment regularly. I love the atmosphere and the service and bartenders are super awesome. The only bad thing I can say is the current owner doesn't fully understand what it is to run a restaurant. Other than that is a fantastic place to visit. It's family friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I truly do love the environment which is why I used to frequent it regularly. I take a cab there because I enjoy the drinks but last time I went, I couldn't even get a buzz even after four drinks... Which tells me they are watering down, their alcohol... I love the atmosphere and I do love the servers but just don't waste your money on an alcoholic Drink it is not worth it.. I will not be returning unless I do not plan on drinking any kind of alcoholic drink

Great customer service and they still don't know how to make a burrito supreme the right way the content supposed to be in the burrito not on the side I got a burrito supreme supposed to have all the contents inside beans rice lettuce pico de gallo with the meat inside the burrito not outside I ended up getting a really dry grilled chicken wrapped up in a tortilla with all contents outside of the burrito plus I ordered a taco salad which was really good

Something was a little off this time at our favorite Mexican restaurant. The steak street tacos were dry and had virtually no flavor. I have been to various parts of Mexico and have experienced the wonderful flavors and spices of this country. What happened? Nit even a piece of cilantro or the juice of a fresh lime 🤔. Please consider spicing up the meat a little.

Absolutely disgusting food. The ground beef tasted like potted meat not like ground beef. The chicken was dry and bland. My husband got the chicken tacos and I got the taco salad. We had to ask multiple times for a refill. When we got our food I took a bite and looked at my husband and was like something tasted off. Tasted it again to make sure it wasn’t just me and it tasted like they used potted meat for the ground beef. Asked the waitress for extra small cup of cheese charged me $2 for a very little amount of cheese. We left after trying the food we will not be back. The waitress was ok but still had to ask multiple times for a refill. Also when we got our ticket and looked at the prices the prices were not what was displayed on the menu they was higher. I love Mexican food but this place was disgusting. Husband ate here years ago and said it wasn’t the best then either and wanted to try it again to see if they had changed cooks or something and he even said it just got worse. After leaving I got sick. I won’t be back!!

I got takeout. I got 3 chicken tacos, and 2 was enough. The meal portions are big, and tasted absolutely delicious! The server that took my order, and brought it to me, was extremely nice. It seemed like a very pleasant atmosphere. I will be going back, and dine in, next time.

My husband and I moved to Calhoun County in 2020 and have been eating at Baja every week since we arrived. It is so consistently good. Rarely have we ever waited for a table, even though the place is perpetually full. They are just great at turning things around. Tonight, though, we discovered they have a new chef, and an always top-notch restaurant has actually become better. The chef's new enchilada sauce and ground beef are magical. Their fajita butter makes anything addictive. If you are looking for healthy options, get a plate of their veggies from the a la carte menu. Or get the huge bowl of their chicken soup with generous portions of avocado in it. Their staff and managers are wonderful. It's very kid-friendly. TVs to watch your ball games. Great decor around holidays. Visit!

As a party of eight, we arrived at Baja around noon. It was busy and we expected a long wait for a table. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The wait was not as lengthy as anticipated.
Once seated, we were immediately greeted by our server, a nice young man. We were brought out drinks in a timely manner and our lunch order was taken right away. The wait for our food was satisfactory. Everyone's order was correct. The food itself was very delicious. Prices were reasonable. Service was exceptional given there were eight of us. Highly recommend Baja.

Came here a couple nights ago, sat at the bar because I was by myself. Service was absolutely horrible. Bartender didn't know how to make a Long Island, didn't ask me if I wanted corn or flour tortillas (yet asked the person sitting next to me which she wanted 5 minutes later), brought me flour tortillas with a meal that is traditionally eaten with corn tortillas, drink glass (water) sat empty for nearly my whole meal and did not get refilled even once. Just a bad experience. Decided to try again tonight. Walked in ahead of a group of 4 and a group of 7. Place was damn near empty. They told me that I would have to wait for a table, unless I wanted to sit at the bar. Nope. Not after last time. Same bartender was working. Didn't want bad service again. They told me that I would have to wait so that they could seat the two groups that walked in behind me. What a horrible establishment. Do not waste your time or money. Food was good, but the service was $h!t. Even the manager was there when they told me they wouldn't seat me. Fine. I'll take my business elsewhere. STAY AWAY!!!!

I have to say we come here often and the service is ALWAYS amazing. The food great and atmosphere inviting. Even on their busiest times they still do their best to accommodate and make things right. All the servers and hostess seem to get along great and are thankful to help each other out. The managers help out on the floor and in the back of the house which is not always something you see. I hate reading poor reviews when there’s always two sides to a story. Sometimes patrons are just downright rude and want something for nothing.

THE SERVICE WAS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!! Our ticket was not right and all of the little girls at the front had nasty attitudes. I definitely WILL NOT spend my gas to come back here. Don’t get me wrong, the food was immaculate but the service was DISGUSTING! Thank you Lord we are good christian people cus honey child!! The waitress complained when someone else came and assisted us and said that she had tables all around the building that’s why she hasn’t been to us. We won’t be back!!

We ate here yesterday (9/3) for the first time in about 10 years. It’s way better than I remember, the food is on par with Limon’s in Crossville. Which is outstanding Mexican food. They were moderately busy, but tables, glasses, dishes were all clean. Good service and chips and salsa were fresh. Burrito Mexicana is what I ordered.

It was a very nice atmosphere, but the food (chicken) was undercooked. Waitress was nice but seemed more interested in consuming her smoothie off in a corner than anything else. The beef taquitos were very good. It's not terrible, but not great.

The food is just so so. Bland chips. Overcooked chicken. "Cheese" sauce on everything. It is better to stick with water rather than order a drink. The server was super sweet, though. A lot of colorful murals on the walls. But, it is tile floors and an open area. Gets pretty loud. I only went because this is where I was invited to go.
