We throughly enjoyed our meal. We were sat at our table almost immediately. The food was great (We highly suggest getting the Lopez Dip-created by the staff!!!). The staff was great and attentive.

We definitely will be back.

They tried to charge us $49.03 for 2 meals that totalled $34! It wasn't until my husband showed him the calculator and what it should cost tax and all that they agreed to fix it said it was a glitch 😂

The waiter gave me a salsa container that comes with chips automatically. I tried to pour it into the dish, but nothing came out. I looked and saw the salsa was old and crusted over.
I should have left, my mistake. Instead I got a different salsa. I then got 3 tacos that, at the most, contained the meat of one. One of the tacos literally had zero meat over half it's length. This has happened, repeatedly.
There's an apologetic sign at the door that they have no liquor license yet. It's apparent that they are struggling to get by and are skimping extremely on portions.
This place is a ripoff that's sure to fail. Los Mexicanos in Oxford is good, but a long drive away. El Patron is local but not worth it, at all.

The chips were very stale. The salsa was cold and bland. I had chile colorado. I’ve had that at several restaurants. This is the first time I’ve had it with white sauce of some kind in it. It had a sour taste. My husband had chimichangas. They were not very flavorful. Not likely to return.

I called here to place an order. Music in background was loud and the employee and I couldn’t understand each other. By the time I got a sentence out, he was trying to repeat over me. So frustrating! I started again and again he was speaking over me, interrupting my order. I finally asked him to let me finish my order request
I picked up the order. When I got home the taco supreme tasted like a wet sock with tomato’s. Food was terrible and was trashed after one bite. Will never go back.

I wish I could rate the food but I wouldn’t know as I was never served. A few friends and I came here and we were sitting for at least 30 minutes and we never received service. There had been 2 other tables that came in AFTER us and they have been treated within 5 minutes of them being seated. I was truly excited to try this place, but that put a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe one day we’ll try again, but as of now Baja will be the place.

Overall the food was mediocre and small portions for the price which is a few dollars more per item than most other places in the area. The nachos were especially bad as they had very little meat on them and so much lettuce that it made everything else soggy. We will not be coming back.

Men’s room toilet seat broken, urinal out of order. It took almost 1 full hour to place an order, and the food took 70 more minutes to get after ordering. Did not have birria available. Slow to refill drinks. Open a couple weeks now, what’s the deal? I liked the old place better!

The food here was actually quite good, I had the Torta Mexicana Pastor and it was delicious! It weirdly (to me, at least) comes with French Fries that I wish could’ve been substituted, but that’s not a deal breaker! My wife had Tacos Al Carbon and very much enjoyed her meal as well! Prices were fair enough, not too far off from other places. The big downside of this place was the speed (or lack thereof, I should say) of service. The server was very friendly and kind but the wait time for appetizers and our meals was very long. I understand they are a fairly new restaurant but wow was it slow. Overheard other customers complaining of having waited over an hour for food, we waited about 30 minutes for one appetizer (cheese dip with chorizo) and then another 15-20 minutes after we got that for our entrees to come out. It’s definitely not the worst thing in the world but definitely didn’t seem to be just a random occurrence judging from the overheard conversations of other customers. Overall we left with a good first impression, the wait time for food does need work but considering they just opened a few weeks ago not everything is going to be perfect. We definitely plan to give this place another try in the future.

Just fyi they don’t have their liquor license yet as of 8/2/2024 which is to be expected that process can take weeks upon weeks upon weeks.

Happy to have El Patron in Jacksonville. The chimichaga was amazing! The shredded pork was very tender. The rice was very flavorful. I'm happy to see familiar servers as well. You must definitely check out this location.
