I hadn’t ate here in awhile but the food was really good! The place could use some maintenance but I would go back!

The chips and salsa was pretty standard. The al pastor taco was just cubed pork fried very little flavor certainly not al pastor. The chorizo taco was burnt. The nachos were so overloaded with beans there was almost no cheese and the steak was way overcooked and under seasoned. The only saving grace was the tamales and they weren't anything to write home about but the sauce on them was great. The chillies relleno was really good minus the almost unseasoned ground beef inside it.

I deliver for Door Dash. I went in to pick up an order. I was there at the time I was to pick up the by. I was rudely told it would be 25 minutes. I tried to explain my pick up time was when I got there. We get the orders and have enough time to drive to the store at the pick up time. This woman has also been very rude in the past started yelling that if I didn't want to wait to get someone else to pick up the order. I left and called my support person who tried to call but they would not answer their phone. I am picking up an order for someone that I represent and that has already paid for their food. I want to deliver the food in a timely manner. If this restaurant doesn't want to do doordash orders they should just stop. It is not right for us to be treat like this and it is not fair to the customer that has to wait longer for their food.

I haven't eaten there so i cant comment on the food, but whoever picked up the phone when i called to check on our Door Dash order today...she had very bad phone etiquette...if any at all. She just seemed irritated that i even dialed their number. i wouldn't eat there based on that alone. I work for a corporate office that provides lunch to our offices across the US every Monday and Friday...so i spend a lot of $ on food and i am a first time customer with this location. I definitely wont spend any more money with this place for our office in this city.

Well first off we was seated then gave a little bowl of chips for 4 people. It took about 10 mins to get our drink orders which I wanted a margarita and the waiter didn’t want to make it or something because he talked me out of it. Then he could barely hear to take our order because what I am assuming was someone’s family was behind him cutting up which is fine if your waiters can hear. Then he brings out the wrong food which was all wrong . My husband ordered a taco salad with beef but the first one was steak. I ordered a chimichanga but because he couldn’t hear me not sure what the mess was I got. So then he finally comes back around and offers to fix me the correct thing which would have been great but then he comes back with another wrong order stewed pork not beef which is what I was charged for. I normally just eat it if it’s wrong but this was uncalled for . Definitely want be going back.

We have been eating here for 3 years. We ordered and carried it out a couple of days ago. First, they didn't answer,all we got was leave a message. The 3 stars is because of the service. I felt like I was annoying the server with my presence. The server could not get a simple drink order correct. Then he snatched, literally, the cup out of my friends hand for a to get her a refill. He rudely reached over our plates, which is extremely rude and unacceptable. The food; however, was great!

The current servers are terrible. They had me waiting on an order then claimed the order was never made. Then why would you say it’s not ready yet?? Why make me wait 20 minutes technically 40 counting from the time it was ordered, if you had not received an order. My husband calls while I’m on my way home because he is confused and the lady even said they got the order. we eat here regularly like they know our order by heart. I won’t be back until there are new servers. Standing around gossiping loudly. Be professional do your job could of gotten a nice tip.

Ordered takeout and was disappointed. First I had to go in and place an order because the attendant wasn’t answering the phone. Second after ordering I saw the score of 74 on the wall!😵. Food was soggy and disgusting.

I love the food but make sure you check your bag. We just got home and realized they didn't give us our tortillas. We live in Birmingham, so it's too far to go back.

Pepitos is a Jasper staple. One of the absolute best Mexican restaurants around. They are always speddy and the food is always spot on.

Out of all of the years I've gone there the only complaint I have ever heard anyone in my family make was that the food is spicy. Personally, I like Mexican food to have a little kick but if you're extra sensitive beware that their cheese dip and salsa has a kick to it.

I recommend trying #58 but whatever you end up getting at Pepitos will not disappoint!

I'm sick to death of this place. I have ate here for years Well, they have now decided they close when they want. Close at 830, locked the doors in My face Walking up at 8pm. No one will answer the phone e.. good luck is all i can tell u.

Great food, prices, staff, and atmosphere. We were seated and our order was taken immediately. In less than 10 minutes or food was at our table and was exactly what we ordered. They also serve a great margarita!

Walked in the restaurant for lunch, haven’t tried this place out in years. We were not greeted or welcomed by the host. She did acknowledge us at a point and sat us at a table. We ordered drinks and they brought us out salsa, the bowl the salsa came out in had dried up salsa around the edges, like it wasn’t cleaned properly. We ended up getting up and leaving before they even made it back with the drinks.

Was ok for lunch. Just wanna say, having queso on everything doesn't make it Authentic Mexican food. Being from Calif I'm spoiled to good Mexican food. Plus the waiter we had was.....not very personable to say the least. Better options in town. Waiter has ZERO personality!!!

10/10 recommend. The carne asada was cooked to perfection, the tamales were delicious, staff was friendly and not bugging you every 3 bites asking if everything is ok

The food is awesome! I used to go to the Mexican restaurant across town and after it changed hands the food, portions, and service just kept going farther and farther down hill. That led me to this restaurant. And I am so thankful. The food is great as well as the service. Nice to see friendly smiling faces rather than someone begging for a tip for carry out! If the food and service are as they should be I don't have to be asked for a tip. I am usually a very generous tipper!

Been here a few times and have enjoyed it every time. Prices are very reasonable, staff is friendly and the food is tasty and the portions are great. What more can I say, I absolutely plan on going back.

I ordered 3 separate orders of Queso tapatio shrimp and when I got home there was not any tortillas in the bag. Thankfully I had some at home so I was able to provide the 2 others that had ordered tortillas.

ABSOLUTELY ONE OF MY FAVORITE PLACES TO EAT AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD!!! I have ALWAYS loved Pepito's! The service has been absolutely the best for I know 20+ years. The food is ALWAYS amazing! I have NEVER experienced bad service, nor gotten bad food here and I'm very picky about service and food, like read my other reviews on here, I'm not gonna steer you wrong! If you are looking for AWESOME service and extremely great Mexican food you definitely need to go to Pepito's!!🌮 I recommend the #65 with a side of guacamole! That's my favorite!♥️

Pick up order wad very fast and complete, everything was perfect as ordered I even added some drinks at the register and the staff was very nice.I think they could use a deep cleaning on the floors and windows for this restaurant to be a 100 percent.

We have eaten here several times the service and food have always been good. The lady that runs the cash register is very unfriendly and the last time we were there she was complaining about the staff, loud enough I noticed from across the restaurant. Not very professional.

This was supposed to be my Mother's Day dinner. This is the worst Nachos Locos I have ever gotten from Pepitos. It also cost the most I have ever paid for it. Also, I wasn't told they were OUT of guacamole. I was just supposed to accept what they gave me, and not notice I guess. I got my money back, and am going to Applebees instead. I am too disappointed for words. Pepitos just isn't what it used to be. ☹

always love this place to eat when i'm in Jasper, Alabama. Wonderful, authentic Mexican Spanish cuisine "TEX MEX" , with a nice Americana flair from some really upbeat Hispanic restaurant owners and operators, to bring a back-home dishes styled after the old country and older yet wiser dishes.... which have only increased in size and proportions for those of us whom can not absolutely get enough. EVER!!! A Margherita only helps authenticate that already intoxicating yet aromatizing palates.

this is my third time dining here. first time, sometime middle of the week, it was awesome, steak was cooked perfect the way I wanted, even my wife enjoyed her food. our server (hispanic server) was quiet but was straight forward with our order and never missed anything from our orders (five star to that server you are awesome!!!). second time was with the whole family, it was a Saturday, we really expected that its gonna be pack and it was REALLY PACK, waited for 45mins for a table, finally had a table and our server (hispanic server) was still cool after having a big table before us, took our order, got my usual of course and came out after almost an hour of wait, it was very understandable, because it was a very busy night. i was trying to let my family members experience, what i experience and they didnt fail me. the only problem is my aunt (a senior citizen) didnt like what she ordered. i know she was kinda picky with food and me trying to prove that the food was great, i ended up giving my order to her and her ordered food became mine. she said she loved it and will return again. (five star again to that server!!!). ok today (3rd time) which is a tues, thinking that its not gonna busy and its very close to us, we dine in and as expected didnt wait for a long time got a table. this is where it all started. ordered my usual, my wife got something for herself and our son. i just dont understand if the waitress (yes female, not hispanic) understand what i ordered. she came back and ask me again what i ordered and she said everything is okay. waited for like 40mins for our food didnt really complain about that, but the food was messed up when it came to our table, my sons food was overcook, he just ended up eating his fries. my wife's food was alright and mine was plain steak and rice. this waitress was horrible first, she didnt ask how do we like our steak cook, forgot to give me my veggies and salad, have to ask her if i can have a tortilla, she charge me for extra rice for $2.50. charge me for my son's drink, which is suppose to be part of his meal that is overcooked, have to ask her for napkins, did not have the urgency to fill up our cups, did not even give me a steak knife, i ended using a butter knife. this waitress needs a lot of training. HORRIBLE!!! im a good tipper and really know how waiters/waitress makes money, but this one doesnt deserve to have a tip, but i still give her something. dont know if i will comeback here again after that experience. hoping the Pepitos Management will hire waiters/waitress who have the passion to serve people and not just make money... :-( :-( :-(

The service and food was good and I use to come there on the regular but this was a first time in a while. I must say lunch special price has went up by far $11 a person and $18 for 2 margaritas my total ticket was over $40 I can say it be a while before I come back with them prices

The service wasn't that bad, but our server was (male ) unpleasant. My food (enchiladas) was only a little warm and crammed onions. A different (female) person that worked there took care of the problem, thanks. Food overall was Good.

My wife and I have been eating at pepitos for quite a few years and have enjoyed the food. A month ago I was informed that booth's were now being reserved at the restaurant so I started calling ahead to reserve our favorite booth. Three weeks later I was told by the manager that seats were no longer being reserved. Last night we came in to eat and ask to be seated in a booth but we were told that it had been reserved. I told the girl that the manager said seats were not reserved. She said seats had always been available for reserving. I immediately ask for the manager. He says the female worker is mistaken and that seats are not reserved. But after he told me this he still allowed a group of teenagers who had called in and (reserved the booth) to sit where we requested. Certain customers are privileged in this restaurant and there is certainly bias toward certain customers.
We will not be back in PEPITOS restaurant in Jasper, Alabama again.
