The entrance was very interesting with some authentic Mexican Decor. Ample parking. Clean inside. The staff as very attentive and personable. There was a toddler running in and out of the kitchen and our owner/server spent time chasing him and carrying him back into the kitchen.
Flaming Cheese, $14.99 I always order this if it is on the menu. It is my favorite dish and I’ve had it is many Mexican restaurants. Nice thick layer of gooey sizzling cheese with tender sliced steak, peppers and onions all sautéed to perfection with just the right amount of juices running around the edges. Three tortillas a little guacamole and pico on the side.
Well this wasn’t that. $14.99 The steak was tough, it was added to the vegetables put directly on a skillet soaking in a puddle of water with partially melted cheese sprinkled on top. I have never seen Flaming Cheese this messed up before. This came with a huge plate of everything almost another meal. I considered it over kill. I wouldn’t order this again.
Chili Marina this was beef tips in chili sauce made as spicy as you like. Mild is still a bit spicy. Very good taste.
When we went to pay the manager/server apologized and did say “sorry good sometime, not good sometime” so we will probably go back a try something else.

The chicken was the best I've ever had a Mexican restaurant! Shrimp was great!! Rice was good as well. Cheese dip was average, salsa tasted like it had poured out of a jar from the store. Service was terrible. Though I have to say for the amount of servers I could tell some were at least trying. Just inside I counted 9 tables occupied, one table had 12 people. I think there was one 1 waitress & 2 guys helping her, another waitress had outside tables (she sat around alot while we were there & there were customers seated at the tables outside.) Overall it was ok. We may be back. Hopefully the service will be better next time as that was the biggest issue. Pictured was the Leesburg special & a seafood dish with fish, shrimp & crab. We also ordered rice & cheese dip

Our meal was amazingly very flavorful. The salsa was the first surprise...it had the right amount of heat without being overly so. The nachos we ordered had chicken, beef, and shrimp. I highly recommend them! The pitcher of margaritas...well, let me say that NOTHING remained in the pitcher when we were through. All in all, I am definitely coming back... SOON!

Sunday lunch after church. Very crowded. Food was not that great. Salsa was ok. They needed more workers. Bathroom needed attention. This was a one and done for us. On the upside, portions were big.

Food - mistakes were made with no effort to correct. Ordered steak ranchero... Steak was almost a pure slab of fat. Did not bring what was ordered.

Waitress - Waitress was inattentive. Came once for drinks and once for order, never to check on food, refill drinks, etc. Did not bring what she said she would.

I did not get what I ordered. When I told the server this she said that's my fault I'm sorry. Never offered to make me the correct meal. Also refilled my drink 1 time and never came back. My wife never got a refill. I don't understand why the server didn't write down our order. The food is good. But I would not say that for the service we received.

The ambience is fantastic and the service is quick and friendly with genuine smiles. But the food??? 98% tasteless, as if they use absolutely no seasonings at all. Not only no cumin (I’ve never even heard of Mexican food that doesn’t use cumin) but not even the simple basic seasonings like salt and pepper. The only thing with any flavor to it was the salsa, which merely tasted like spicy tomatoes. I ate a few bites but it really wasn’t worth the effort. I won’t be returning. Regardless of what type of food a restaurant serves, they should not forget to add the flavors to the dish that they are preparing.

We had been sitting in our booth for nearly 20 minutes and still no waitress came to our table. I had to end up asking for someone to come wait on us. Two tables that came in after us were waited on before us. The staff had no idea who was supposed to waitress in that area. I usually have the best experience when I go, but definitely not this time.

I ordered the Marina Steak. It boasted a succulent ribeye, topped with shrimp and mushrooms, onions, and their famous cheese sauce. There were 3 shrimp. I didn't expect a lot from the meat, but the queso disguised how fatty it was so it was a pretty disappointing experience. Nothing tasted like anything. Frozen margaritas were pretty good. I can't really speak for the rest of my party, but they forgot my wife's order and everybody else was sort of unimpressed. We are not local, so maybe we hit them on a bad night.

I ordered at this places with a group of people from work. The owner was working the phone and overcharged every single one of us. A chicken and rice, taco salad, and 2 drinks was 39$. The owner also charged one us 24$ for a taco salad. None of these prices were accurate to what the were online or on the menu. After talking to the owner for 20 minutes on the phone he stated that we were wrong and he never makes mistakes. I will not eat at this place again. Apparently this happens to a lot of people who eat here.

We came to try out this restaurant because we come up to our lake camper here and we were more than disappointed. Coming in, no one let us know where to sit, we had to find someone and ask. It wasn’t that crowded but several tables were full of dirty dishes. We were told to sit where we wanted so we did and waited probably 15 mins for a server to come. Everyone who works here looks like a teenager and couldn’t find anyone who looked to be in charge. We had to get up to get menus, silverware, it was ridiculous. When the food came it wasn’t bad at all, it was pretty good. The loud speakers playing a song with a mix of Spanish and English blaring a song with the f word and also the word that rhymes
With hussy…. My 5 year old sitting at the table. That’s unacceptable for a family restaurant. Overall the service and experience was a -1 and the food a 3. We will not be coming again.

Food was okay but if not a local be prepared to wait till all the local groups get their food first. Waited forever and watched groups who were seated after us get their food first. Our waitress was a little snotty too, guess cause we aren’t locals. Over all, not going back and probably not going back to Leesburg area period. Some nice places but right next to total trash. Oh, the prices are sky high for Mexican food especially for a small rundown place like this.

Me and my family has been waiting along time to eat here, and we live in the area, The atmosphere was great, the staff was very kind and friendly, They went out of there way to make sure our beverage's were topped off, we never had to ask for anything, as they kept checking on us about every 15 minutes, the food didn't take but about 15 minutes to get to us, The food was very hot and fresh, you get your money's worth, we had to get to go plates as we couldn't eat it all, I highly recommend this hidden gem in Leesburg, Alabama and to others passing by, it's truly worth your time of you want authentic Mexican, they even have a American option as well, this is my first time, definitely will not be my last, hands down best Mexican restaurant in Cherokee County Al,

We went there like an hour ago and was kinda iffy cause they only had 4 stars but we tried it anyway and I don't care what the other reviews say about the food was not good it was to expensive and the service was bad the food was great u got a lot for the price and the waitress lady was polite and very fast the food toke a min but was very good especially the rice I mean I saw a reviews saying like 3$ for a coke refill if u dont have 3$ for a refill why u eating out or better yet go to McDonald's were it's free and get something off the 1$ menu dont leave bad reviews and make them look bad cause u don't have 3$ but anyway I would totally recommend this place and I will definitely be going back again

We have been here a few times since we moved here a month ago. We have all tried different menu items and they are all extremely delicious. The service is even better. The manager is very attentive and comes to every table and makes sure everyone is completely satisfied. Nothing but great things to say about La Marina. HIGHLY recommend!!

Food was 2 out of 10, service was -10 out of 10, I am 100% confident there's 10yr Olds running lemonade stands in their front yards in more of a professional and more accurate way then the staff here. I got to watch 3 waitresses eat before I could even get chips so I could eat my cold watered down queso. $100 wasted I worked 10x harder for that $100 then the entire staff that night. Owner needs to get this fix or move on.
