Cozumel Cantina

Cozumel Cantina is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Shoals area. I've eaten there enough times that I've tried probably 75% of the items on their menu, and they've all been good. The tortilla chips and salsa that come with every meal are the best in northwest Alabama.

Our food was obviously fresh and was made in a timely manner. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We will be coming here regularly. We did go early in the afternoon because we don’t drink and it was Friday. They weren’t busy yet and the food was great.

Great margaritas, great service & we really enjoyed our meal. One week later....the enchiladas rancheras was one of the best Mexican meals that I have ever had. The flavors were to die for. The pork was so tender that we had to beg them to take the plate away. These owners are from Mexico & it shows. The prices are great, the food is great & the margaritas are great. These two old Texans are not going to eat Mexican food anyway else. And a big thanks to our home girl Johann for being such a wonderful server!

Good food. I love the street taco ! Steak and chorizo on flour tortillas. And they have a green or red dipping sauce. The red is hot but good. Comes with fresh chopped onion and they sit on a bed of grilled onions.

Best Mexican food in North Alabama! Luiz is wonderful & cons such wonderful dishes, & Joanne is so nice & such a great server. We are so blessed have them close by & to be able to now call them friends.

absolute worst service. guy on the phone for nearly 5mins. doesnt say a word and serves others without seating me. I left and wont be back. Use to be a good place.

Ordered takeout our 1st & last time got the mixed fajitas it was all peppers & onions very little chicken or beef taco salad was ok but not great guacamole was bland for 30$ the quality of food wasn't there for the money

Will never order food here again. The last three times I was told 10 minutes. I waited 20. Showed up and paid to wait 30-40 more minutes. This time I got a refund and walked out. Simple orders and multiple people waiting for to go orders. DONT SAY 10 MINUTES IF ITS GOING TO BE AN HOUR OR MORE.

Food was amazing! We struggled a little bit with communication with our waitress as her English wasn't perfect but we overcame that little barrier. Only real complaint I have is I was in process of eating my rice and the waitress cleared the plate in between bites.... Very small portion remaining though. I still recommend this place for the food quality.

My daughter and I went to the restaurant for the first time on Saturday night. The chips, salsa and cheese dip were good. We ordered a shrimp,chicken and beef fajita for two. The flavor was off and the meat was dry and rubbery. After arriving home I vomited 4 times and continued to have stomach pain for two days almost passing out on the toilet. My daughter began puking the next morning with fever and cold chills. I call to inform them of these event with only the manager calling me a liar and that their cook are good. I requested to speak with the owner with no result to refund us only for the fajitas and nothing else that was ordered. He said do whatever you need to do. These people do not care about your health or if you die from contaminated food. This is seriously dangerous. I will never go there again after this awful experience. Neither should you. BE AWARE!

Food is not very good and is over priced. I don't think they know what lettuce, tomato or sour cream is. They must think their cheese sauce is gold, lucky to get a drizzle. The hand towel dispenser in the ladies room has been broken both times that I have been there.
The first time wasn't good, but decided to give them another chance. The second time I was more disappointed 😞 than the first time.

Great food and customer service. JoAnn IS the waitress you want to have when you go there. Make sure it's evening or early evening but ask for her. You won't be disappointed !!!

very disappointed in our experience last night. I came in with my family (a party of 6 ) after my daughters basketball game. we were seated in the new cantina close to the bar where we (including my children)had to deal with the loudest drunk. He was yelling across the restaurant asking if anyone wanted shots,staggered out of his chair where he staggered around almost into my aunts lap.My 13 year old daughter said he was loudly talking about his latest marijuana experience. He moved to the table behind us where about 10 people were standing over our table as they drunkly hovered around. I have lived in Ford City for 4 years and frequented your restaurant. My bill was 80.00 last night.(as it is most times when i come there with my husband and kids). I dare say the drunk guy didn’t buy 80.00 worth of booze. We will not be coming back to Cozumel.

Got the problano chili pepper, beans with chips and salsa. Everything was good. Especially liked the salsa as it was flavorful with a nice amount of cilantro. Oh, also ordered flan, which was good too.

I have been going to Cozumel since they opened there doors always enjoyed the food and service but tonight tonight was by far my worst experience at any restaurant I have ever eaten. I order a drink and it wasn’t even made right I took one sip of it and sent it back and was still charged for it. I order a guacamole Mexican and it wasn’t even made right and The food isn’t good like it use to my order is always messed up I’m not usually one to complain but I will never eat there again if it gave me a option for zero stars that’s what I would give
