Delicious and Authentic! We got the loaded Molcajete to split between 2 and we still had left overs! My only complaint is the salsa served with the chips has no spice at all and too much tomato flavor. Overall great place to dine!

Had a delicious lunch at El Paisita Restaurant in Loxley Al. Food was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend for lunch or dinner. Our server Jennifer was very attentive and helpful. They also have the option to order from your table via. QR code that you can scan from your table and the order goes to the kitchen. We thought that was awesome. On Cinco De Mayo we decided to try this place. It was packed and wait was about 30 minutes but it was well worth it! Kids had Virgin Pina Colada and it was so tasty. If I wasn’t driving I definitely would have had one of those with alcohol! All the food we ordered was delicious. It became my favorite in our area.

Update: We gave it another try on Saturday, Jan 8, and the food and service were excellent! We will be back! Adjusted the stars from 3 to 5.

We went this past Sunday and the food was good, but the service was basically not existent. I will say, they started to get busy a little while after we placed our order, but I feel like the server could have checked on us in passing. I would give them another try, because of the food, since this was our first time/experience.

Just another Mexican restaurant. They ate all over the place, and I've been to hundreds. This one doesn't disappoint if you're expecting an average Mexican restaurant. It is very average with lots of room for improvement. It certainly wasn't the best Molè sauce I've ever had, but it certainly was the most.

I can't say enough how great the food here is. The authentic menu isn't very big but it's one of the best around. Good fajitas, good burritos, good authentic tacos and good chilaquiles. The enchiladas Verdes are great, too. Excellent sweet tea, and efficient service for the most part, although it can really slip when it's busy. You can also ask for home made hot sauce for an extra kick. They also used to have the best mole poblano around, but I don't think the little old abuela that made it is still here. Still, it's one of the better moles in Baldwin County in my opinion.

I used to write the best reviews for this restaurant. I was there about 2 r 3 weeks ago . The food has definitely went down hill . I could taste the very old grease on the food I had got . Not good at all ! What a shame this place has went down so much . Sure do need a new and better cook ..

Got the nachos and the flavor was like a bunch of sweet chili powder sprinkled all over it, couldn’t eat it. Also on the menu it said it came with tomatoes. They brought it out without tomatoes so I asked for the them and then charged me for the tomatoes even though the menu literally said it came with the tomatoes. Couldn’t eat the nachos due to the taste it literally turned my stomach and I felt sick when we left from the few bites I did have.

I edited this to show the menu does state it does come with tomatoes. This is what I ordered, I substituted the steak for ground beef. I appreciate you taking it off our bill because it wasn’t edible, again I showed the picture of your menu because I have no reason to lie.

Me and my wife ate lunch on 9/5/24 First time trying and we were very disappointed in what they say is authentic Mexican food. The flauta and the chile relleno tasted like store bought from the frozen food section, then deep fried in very old oil.
Portions were generous, waitress was friendly, but the food was far from authentic in our opinion. I did call the manager when I got home to express our feeling of how unauthentic the food was in our opinion, and to her credit she did say she would refund our bill, which was nice, but I told her it wasn’t necessary, just wanted her to know should they change to a better product in the future. Wasn't for us. Birria tacos we ordered were flavorless and soggy before we dipped them into the sauce (the sauce was good) and allowed no substitute on rice or beans , my friend had missing items on there torta & I also asked why my margarita was not salted on the rim when I asked for it and everyone else's was around me was and she never got me another one. Our canned street corn was not brought out until after dinner was over & the final issue was at the restroom there is a hallway with a door that has the bathroom and kitchen doors as well in it . The male waiter came out the kitchen pulling his d*** out already while I was waiting for the bathroom I never got to use (what if I would have been a kid standing there) he just turned around went back in the kitchen zipped his pants up and said sorry when he came out .

This is a locally owned Mexican diner in Loxley, AL. The menu is extensive so take your time or ask your server what they recommend. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and happy to be there. She was great, and checked on us regularly even though they were very busy. We were there Sunday for lunch, and we stopped because we noticed the parking lot was always full (usually means it's good). We were delighted that the food was so delicious and the server did such a good job for us. The food portions were huge and pleasing to the eye. As we left my husband told the hostess we would be back!

Stopped for lunch and was very pleased. The service was quick and friendly. The salsa was flavorful and went well with the chips (I prefer a thinner chip, but that's persinal preference), and it went nicely as a condiment to my entree, fajitas The chicken fajitas were nicely seasoned without being salty or an off flavor. The onions and peppers were well cooked and served on the customary sizzling cast iron. The beans and rice were both very good with just light seasoning. I dont love a lot of salt, so this meal was very much on point. I'd rather rather a sauce than have my food over-salted. I pass through this area routinely and have found a new lunch favorite.

Their food is truly as close to authentic as you're going to get in this area they're friendly decent price and always have a seat ready for you. They have curbside pickup or Dine in.

If you can't find something that you can love off their menu then please ask and they'll make it for you

My wife and I stopped in for dinner. We were greeted politely and quickly brought to our table. Immediately, we were brought chips and salsa and shortly thereafter our waiter asked for our drink order. We reviewed the menu and made our choice (s)……Our waiter took our order and within a short time, our food arrived. It was brought hot and was really good. This food has not been sitting under a warmer! Our waiter refilled our glasses without asking. In short, our food, service, and hospitality were great. It’s. “Hole in the Wall” kind of place that you should not miss out on. And, when you walk in the door, look to your left on the wall, their cleanliness score is a 99. That’s awesome!

Rice and beans were bland. Salsa tasted like ketchup. Meat had no flavor. A waitress dropped salsa and it splattered all over us, she didnt even ask if she could provide napkins to clean up or acknowledge it.

Really good food if you get the right thing(s), The shredded chicken and shredded beef are good, but I'll stay away from the ground beef. Great service every time. EDIT: too many mistakes on the bill!! Tired of the mistakes and REALLY tired of the attitude.

This place has beautiful & colorful party banners hanging from the ceiling. Artwork’s from different parts of mexico that really make the vibe comfortable. Makes me feel engulfed the vibe its portraying. The place is so clean!

The customer service:

I always feel welcome when i visit this location. They always greet their customers with a smile & work together to make sure your order is correct & what you desire to eat.

Food:

Fresh, made with love. Will eat here many many many times.

My favorite is vegetarian quesadilla fajita style ! It’s loaded with mushrooms! I love love love mushrooms.

So this is our first visit to this small restruant. Let me just say EVERYTHING was AMAZING. The food os awesome and full of flavor! Our waitress Ms. Lupita (I ask if she minded me using her name), was so attentive to our table, very polite, dirty dishes never stayed on the table, simply she made our visit so comfortable. Hit or miss depending on what you order. I ordered the A6 Gorditas Plato and it was inedibly dry. Very disappointed and left plate to be taken away after a few bites. My wife ordered the Quesadilla Tejana and she enjoyed it. Waitress wasn't all that attentive.
Next time in the area we will probably try a different place to eat.

GREAT MEXICAN FOOD WITH AWESOME SERVICE!! GREAT ATMOSPHERE!! MY BUDDY HAS LIVED IN LOXLEY FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND HAD YET TO DINE HERE. IT WAS AN EXCELLENT CHOICE. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS. WE TRIED AL PASTOR TACOS, CHORIZO TACOS, BEEF TACOS, CHICKEN TACOS, BEEF BURRITO, STUFFED BELL PEPPER, AND FRIED ICE CREAM. PORTIONS WERE VERY GENEROUS. Service has always been lacking. The kitchen consistently had great food. That is why we would endure the lack of service. Tonight ... management made the decision to not take two soft tacos off our bill. There were too salty. Been coming to this restaurant weekly for over 6 years. They took the tacos away and refused to take off our bill. $5.98. We spent $200 a month up there plus 8-10 more of our friends.

As Mexican restaurants outside of Los Angeles, Taos and other places where high standards are the norm, El Paisita ranks right in there with the other pitifuls. Their carnitas are good. The shredded beef enchiladas are okay, but make sure they don't bring out ones with hamburger in it, with a canned tasting sauce. The chili relleno was not really properly prepared, BUT, this is not something that one can expect outside of the aforementioned places. The Tamale was average. They make a pretty good refried bean. I'm sure they do a commendable job with some of their other dishes. I will continue to make my own Mexican food.

never tried this place but decided to because it was right around the corner from our house. we ordered online and they finished in 20 minutes! i picked it up and they gave us some extra chips and salsa and everything was correct just how we ordered it. love it and will definitely be coming back!!
