Went here for the first time a couple days ago. Maddie took excellent care of us and the food was phenomenal! Came back again today and the food was just as good. Mark is doing a great job running this place and I will be back super soon. Be on the lookout because they have some big things in the works here!!

We went last Friday evening because of all the good things being said. We were seated right away. Service throughout our dinner was pretty good. The chips were a little thicker than we like, but the salsa made up for it. The salsa was great!

My wife had a top shelf margarita and I had just a regular one. Whewww, they were strong!

I had a chicken chimichanga. My wife had a taco salad with chicken. My chimichanga was delicious, freshly made and fried to perfection. My rice and beans were just lukewarm in temperature. The guacamole was excellent! My wife had no complaints about her taco salad. Overall, I consider this location as typical Mexican fanfare and encourage all to try it. Most will probably like it.

We always drink water, so our total before tip was under $22! We brought home as much as we ate and the leftovers are just as good warmed up.
We have also had the lunch chile relleno and it is wonderful also!
We are so happy this restaurant is so good! It the only Mexican restaurant open on Sunday in Madison that we know of.

Decided to give La Placita Mexican Grill a try. WOW!!! Authentic food, the owners are two brothers and they talked to us about how they prepare the food. All organic, fresh every day. They even mash their beans by hand! Waitress was friendly and kind. Please go support this place, you will not be disappointed! We will for sure be "regulars" here!

It was our first visit. Our waiter was very nice and he took very good care of us. I got beef fajitas, it was a generous portion and cooked perfectly. My wife got the combo chimichanga. Everything was very good.

We ate here October 2024 and the food, service, and prices were amazing! Somehow it is the best Mexican I’ve had since moving to Madison, and also the least expensive (how is that possible?!) . I wish I’d found this place sooner.
The margarita was made with fresh-squeezed juices and the food was perfectly spiced and cooked with all white-meat juicy chicken. The waitress Maddy was so attentive. We will definitely be coming here for our Mexican nights out!

Food was fantastic and so was service. If you go, I highly recommend the mega burrito. The burrito is stuff with steak, shrimp, chorizo, and chicken as well as onions and peppers. Each bite is an explosion of flavors. A definite must go.

This place has the crispiest chimichangas around. The employees were polite. The only thing I didn't like was the salsa. It was thin and tasted like marinara sauce.

We’ve been looking for a place that makes delicious chicken chimichangas with a crispy tortilla. This is the place. Everything we ordered was good. They use organic foods, which is awesome. The salsa tasted fresh and homemade. The rice was the best I’ve had around Huntsville. One of the new owners talked to us for a while. He was very friendly and attentive. The service was very good. The dining room was comfy. They have karaoke nights, I think on Fridays. We will definitely be going back the next time we’re ready to eat Mexican food.

La Placita is under New Management and it’s a great place to eat. The place is clean and setup nice. Chips and salsa is an excellent appetizer. Make sure to get some of their cheese dip also. Excellent. The food is full of flavor and the service and staff are excellent and take care of the customer. The margaritas are some of the best tasting ones I’ve ever had. You’ll definitely go back time and time again. 5 stars all the way.

My mom and I had a great lunch here- I think they’re under new management as of the past couple of months. The portions are very generous and the food is delicious. We had the queso, taquitos, and I had the chicken chimichanga. It was really tasty and not greasy- which is a issue some places have with chimichangas. Everyone working on the floor during lunch service was so nice and friendly. We will definitely be back because they have fried ice cream that we were too full to try!!

Really good food. Their salsa is a little pasty, but still pretty good. For Alabama, this is 5 star Mexican food. The location is nice, and they're rarely crowded. The staff was nice and helpful, and everything seemed clean and well organized. Would go again.

Best tasting Mexican food in Madison. I had the Burrito Supreme. It was fantastic—stuffed with flavorful, tender beef and topped with a rich, zesty sauce. The rice and beans were the best I've ever had. The service was excellent, and the relaxed atmosphere made for a great dining experience. Highly recommend you try it.

They were good pre-covid, but now they are closed on random days and are habitually understaffed. I waited an hour for a take-out order tonight, and after flagging the server down watched him package up my food that had been on the counter for quite a while and came out to me cold. I should have taken the hint when several families walked out without getting their drink order taken, or even being seated.

I've been dining here for more years than I can remember and have never been disappointed - unless they were closed.
Tonight they were short staffed so service was a little slower than normal, but WOW did he (Fidel?) hustle as best as humanly possible - AND maintained a pleasant demeanor throughout!
In truth, it only seemed slow compared to their normal, but after checking the clock we realized it was well within normal of most places. Nothing but respect for La Placita; ownership, staff, food & drinks. Muy bueno!

Other places should take lessons in customer service from La Placita.

I’m not sure what the fuss is about. Probably the worst restaurant in town. The staff was fine, no trouble there but the food quality is lacking the building is pretty run down. There is no air conditioning, the tortillas were stale, the cheese dip was good, but the salsa is just canned tomato sauce, and the worst part was the cockroaches. 2 in the bathroom and another by our table.

If you come to this place, be prepared. Prepared to wait. To wait to be seated, to wait to be served, to wait for your food, to wait for your bill, carry out boxes, etc. I believe I only saw 3 employees as people kept trickling in. No actual wait like most restaurants. Fidel, the waiter, does the job of at least 3 people. He's the waiter, the busser, the carryout person, and the cashier. For all I know he's also the dishwasher. The food is just okay. Not particularly good or bad just average. I presented a SaveAround coupon and was told by Fidel, that the owner said not to accept them any longer eventough it doesn't expire until 12/2022 and they made the deal to honor it with SaveAround. Not me. When I asked to speak with the owner to discuss the matter, Fidel reluctantly agreed to accept it. So, if you have one, USE IT. I would have filed a complaint with the BBB had it not been accepted. Not sure if I'll return, especially if they're gonna reneg on their coupon obligations.

I used to eat here regularly when I worked nearby. I ate lunch there this week and was very pleased other than the heavy salt in the meat used in the burritos and enchiladas. I mentioned it to the proprietor when I payed my bill, but I am not sure if there will be a response. Their style is comfort food Mexican. Their chips are really great, white corn served warm. See pick attached. Interestingly, while the meat was extremely salty, the chips had no salt at all.

I liked the chimichanga. The rice was passable. But the salsa was kinda weird (it kinda tasted like spaghetti sauce?), and the beans were just not good.

Outdoor seating is available, but it's in direct sunlight in the afternoon/evening, so beware.

First off best salsa and queso around....

5 stars because the first time ever being there It said they closed at 9pm online but as I walked in little after 8 pm they were cleaning up and said they closed at 830... Well im not that guy to demand to be served within that time BUT they insisted I be served even as I walked out.. Not only did they turn the music back on(lol) but they served us hot good well mannered food👍🏼 I then have visited 2 more times and just as good plus served with a smile and ambition to make you feel welcomed. I travel for work and been to many restaurants, if you want legit Mexican food and not some American BS, This is the spot.

SOOOO GOOD!!! First of all, the chips and salsa were PERFECT. The chips were so thin and crisp and the salsa was blended (my preference) and so flavorful! NOW I was a little bit difficult because I made my own order that wasn't on the menu, the waiter didn't speak a ton of English, but he was patient with me to make sure we got it right! I ordered a California Burrito (west cost cravings kicking in) which is a burrito with steak,french fries, cheese, guac and sour cream). They made it and it was perfect! I am extremely happy with the food and the service and will DEFINITELY be back!!

-they were patient with me on my next time back as well! I am kind of weird and order things separately to make my own carne asada fries (since they don't have it on the menu) and yum!!
