Phil Sandoval's Mexican Restaurante

I just had the best lunch here. I HIGHLY recommend the chicken fajitas and spicy salsa. The tortillas are made fresh to order and the food was very well cooked and seasoned.
Jesus was our server and he did an exceptional job!
The restaurant itself is beautiful and you can tell every part of it has been thoughtfully selected by the owners - including the different ceilings(!) in each section of the restaurant.
Thank you for a wonderful meal, I will definitely be back!

We visited here again tonight because our previous first visit was phenomenal (with server Leah). But this was the worst service here tonight. We asked for salsa & chips 3 times, asked for napkins 4 times, asked for to -go containers twice... which we never received,
Our tortillas were cold....one of the main reasons we like Phil Sandoval's is for their fresh homemade tortillas. I doubt we'll be back to this location because of tonight's service. There are far too many wonderful restaurants nearby to tolerate poor service.

Went in for late lunch. All good, service, food and cleanliness. Last visit was at lunch - place was crowded and food was rushed. Not this visit. Everything was hot and well presented. Actually more food than we expected and didn't make it to 'clean plate club' status.
Pleasantly surprised at this visit.

The food is awesome. Visit anytime for lunch or dinner but make sure and walk around to check out the decor. Phil's is authentic Mexican food. The specials on the last day we visited were Mango Salad with grilled chicken and Ribs with fries. They were delicious.

My favorite dish is the fish taco! Haven't had one in a while, so craving it. Stopped at the Phil's in Madison and ate by myself, which I don't ever do!! That's how bad I wanted one... 😁 Best ever! Stop and try it for lunch!

Overall good but there were a couple things lacking. The tortilla chips were too thin and a bit greasy. I got the street tacos and the corn tortillas didn’t even seemed cooked. Normally that type of dish is browned on the grill for a bit.

This restaurant was fantastic! I was in town for South Star and came in late- the food was out quick and super delicious! Our waitress, SuSu, was exceptional. Su Su was kind and genuine, and it definitely made our experience. Thank you Su Su and keep shining your light on others!

I got the arroz con pollo with steak and shrimp - 10/10. The steak has perfect marinade. My friend got the steak tacos and loved them!

Best Overall Mexican Restaurant in town!!! We visit here a few times a week because they have a great menu for kids and adults. The quick and amazing service plus great food at a reasonable price is not always easy to find, but they hit all factors here!!! Never a wait and food comes super quick. A win win!!!

Food is not as good as expected. Many of the items are overpriced and do not have appropriate portions for the amount you pay. Chips and salsa are good. Cheese dip isn't as flavorful as other places we've been.

Mexican food is my favorite. I decided to try this restaurant because I was in the area. If the salsa is not to my liking I won't return. I like ground beef enchiladas topped with the sauce and cheese. This beef enchilada had peppers in it. I'm one of the rare folks that don't like peppers (bell) especially. Not everyone likes them and putting them in enchiladas just seemed strange to me. Kudos to the great Sopapillas though. Rosies is still my favorite Mexican Restaurant in Huntsville, Al.

Orders were mixed up, service was slow, and the food lacked authentic flavor. We actually had someone in our party get ill afterward and ended up in the ER. Suffice to say, we will not be returning.

05/27/24 - family dinner to celebrate a birthday. Seated quickly and food was quite good, however, the service was lacking. Not sure if Orlando was having an off day, but he was slow to get to us and continued to be slow throughout dinner and getting our check. Absolutely no personality or interaction with any of us and he never smiled while serving us. Great food, but service was terrible.

We went here after being told it was a great place to get Mexican food. The food was less than mediocre, it tasted like leftovers that had been reheated. The food was either super cold or super hot (as if it had just come out of the mircrowave). The service was just as bad. The waitress didn't greet us when we sat down, was very cold when taking our orders, then stood over us as we filled in her tip and didn't bother to thank us for the more than generous tip we left. We will not return and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Had a party of 12, was told they don’t do reservations (no problem) but to show up 30mins before and “claim” tables. We show up at 2:45ish with 4 of the 12 people and almost immediately get sat (awesome!) the rest of our party was going to be there at 3:30. They are not busy at all. Maybe 20 customers total. Staff is standing around talking and goofing off because there is nothing to do (also not a problem, you can have fun at work.)

My problem is our waitress not once the whole 2hrs we were there asked to refill our COMPLETELY empty drinks. Almost our whole table got the same drink to make it easy (coke), I had to physically flag her down and raise my voice to get a refill. She was checking on the other tables around us every 15-20mins, but ignored us. Since she was guaranteed a 20% tip I guess she just didn’t care to check on us because she actively walked around our table to get to the others.

The food was also so bland. It literally all tasted like wet mushy flour. I will never be back and have never in my life wanted to act like a “Karen” as much as I did that day. We did every thing in our power to make her job easier and I feel like she didn’t earn her $80 tip from our party that she barely served. I work in customer service and her performance was atrocious.

The restaurant was surprisingly larger than I expected with large seating arrangements for big groups, families, etc. The food was delicious and it was a great atmosphere overall.

The service was impeccable. Our waitress asked me if I needed things that I surely did but hadn’t thought to ask. (It was like she could read my mind!) on top of that we had several other staff stop at our table and ask us if we needed anything. They were all so friendly, everyone was accommodating and attentive.

The service, food and atmosphere are great! They did a great job remodeling, it doesn't look like the former restaurant at all, it has its own vibe now (the umbrellas hanging from the ceiling are just too cool). They have a really nice patio area which is set up to be used year-round. The staff were friendly, attentive, and dressed very sharp! I had the chicken with mole sauce and it was delicious! If you like upscale Mexican food, you owe it to yourself to come here. I'm confident you won't be disappointed.

Selene Gatica G was our server, around 5pm, she completley forgot about us after our meal came in, didn't even ask us if we needed anything else. We wanted to order more Top Shelf Margaritas but no one came back. I finally found her she said sorry she forgot about us just because a big table was next to us, we arrived before them. Terrible service from her. And we are regulars.

My family LOVES Phil Sandoval’s! This Madison location is no different! I typically always get the polo loco (basic I know but it’s so good) but I tried to go outside of the box a bit now. So, I went and I got the Pollo En Mole. It was pretty good, although I may just stick to the pollo loco personally. It was not bad in the slightest, just not my personal taste. Great service and atmosphere though! I just wish they had their ice cream machine like the main one!

Chicken fajitas were dry and very oily but the rest of my order was good. However, I dined alone, and my total was $25.04 so I left $3.96 tip for a total of $29. They decided to add $4.04 more for a total of $33.04.
I called the manager who is very nice and refunded the difference. But watch your receipts.

We went yesterday on a double date with our best friends. Our server Nick was great! He was very knowledgeable about the menu and took great care of us. We all had the carnitas and they were absolutely fabulous! Please make them a regular menu item, I could eat them everyday!

I visited with high expectations only to discover the food was terrible and it was pricey. I’m fine with dropping good money on great food but this was so bad I took it home for my garbage gut 20 something and he pushed back on it.

I’d say for anyone reading this post, do your self a solid and go somewhere else.

I just had one of the best dinners in a while here!! All throughout the entrance was Christmas decorations that were clearly worked hard on, along with smart and efficient hostesses that seated my family in a matter of seconds, despite being fairly busy. The decorations in each section of the restaurant like the umbrellas and beautiful lighting really made the atmosphere phenomenal!! My server Alexis took outstanding care of me and my family and ensured that our drinks and complimentary chips and salsa were refilled. My chicken burrito was fantastic and I HIGHLY recommend them to anybody craving a savory and satisfactory meal. I will DEFINITELY be coming back, in multitudes!!!
