Came with the Family on Company outing...From the outside it looked a little less than expected. Bathroom clean..Bathroom entrance door...not so much. Food good..Service Good...a little pricey for normal Mexican food though..

One of my Favorite Mexican Restaurants in town. The El Cerritos Special is the ticket. Guacamole salad is on point also. Great place to eat. Staff is very friendly and personable. Must stop if your in the area or a local that hasn't given them a shot.

Food and margaritas were fabulous! While visiting from out of town , we always make several trips to El cerrito. Practice our broken spanish, eat some fabulous Mexican food...love the quesadilla loca made spicy and enjoy some margaritas and cervesa! Stop by, you won't regret it!

It's been a while, and I'm glad I stopped here for dinner. I had the street tacos... wow! The order came with 2 chicken, 2 steak & 2 chorizo... I had them with flour tortillas. They were fresh, full of flavor & had amazing texture. I would definitely recommend this dish!
The staff was friendly & the restaurant was festive and clean.

We stop in twice a year when travelling for the summer. The guac was amazing!! Service wonderful. My son is a picky eater and he too loved the food!!

Let me start off by saying that if I was able to give no stars I would! This place was recommended to us and we decided to try it! First,the wait for our food was unreasonable considering that fact we were the only ones there! The waiter never came to check on us and only served us drinks one time. The way they brought out the food is really unsanitary.it was on a metal tray, the same one used to clear off the tables. Once we finally received our food it was completely cold. They gave the wrong order to our friend twice, the third time he just ate what they brought because he was starving. For what we paid, it was completely not worth it,and they still had the nerve to add the gratuity on the check! I'm glad they took it out, because they weren't going to get not one dime! Worst food,worst service,worst everything we've ever experienced! First and last time we go here!

We where a pretty big party (9) so we just left the wait time alone even though we were 1 of maybe 5 tables and he was not the only waiter. Then he disappeared and I wish I was exaggerating but it took another 20 minutes to come and take our order we did not receive any refills or even a check in from anyone else while we're waiting. He finally comes back and take out order and again has a whole attitude while taking the order, we waited an hour for our food, when we finally did get out food some other lady brought it out and it was cold, bland and you could tell it had been sitting for a while. When i was finally able to cut into my chicken breast to my surprise it was raw from the middle my husband (fajitas) were so cold that you could see the gristle on the meet, the cheese dip was cold and so were the tortillas and again we were never offered a refill on any of our drinks we were so disappointed that my rest of the family just kind of picked at the cold food and as for my raw chicken i was so over waiting i wasn't even hungry anymore and didn't have the time or strength to try and send it back or complain to the manager, i have a 3 month old and my only saving grace was that my baby was asleep the whole time 3 hours to be exact that we sat their waiting for us to receive horrible service and horrible food, and then they still had the nerve to tacked on the a tip for this awful waiter, I was going to dispute it with the manager but decided to just leave it alone and just never step food here again. I'm truly disappointed because we saw some really good review for this place before we stopped. I will add we were not the only ones discontent with the experience before we paid their was a gentleman in front us of complaining asking for the manager. Not sure what happened but our experience again was awful if I could would give them zero starts I would.

So I’m beginning this with my family and I have been eating here for the past 9-10 years, we’ve come to know the workers quite well we loved Freddie and the ladies working always! We love some of the other gentlemen working here as well, but the owner/manager has had his last straw with me. I decided a few years back to bring my mother to my favorite restaurant(here) and the manager decided to take over for our server and placed both of our meals in front of my mom as a cruel joke. (My mom has been working hard to lose weight and in fact has lost over 200 pounds since this VERY experience) I quit going to eat for a year after this, my family ordered Togo and we went on because we didn’t appreciate the way he treated my mom. Fast forward we start eating inside again, the food is amazing always, service is great (we had the man with tattoos and we love him) and we continue going back. The last I went was around June so maybe he thought I was someone new coming this week and decided to treat our entire table like a “big” inconvenience. I took two of my friends to show them my favorite place once again, we had a female serving us at first who was more than polite and once again! The manager walks over and takes over, he keeps insisting the two women with me needed diet cokes, even after saying they had coke he continued to call it Diet Coke, still brought Dr Pepper back to one of the girls, and then takes our order. We tried to overlook the diet thing, but then when taking our order I ordered my REGULAR, the same thing I’ve eaten here the last 9-10 years which is a Botana, usually no onions, but that night I kept them. (This meal is a diet meal! It’s keto approved) and he looks at me asking me if it’s all for me or if I’m going to split it, I said no it’s my meals and this man rolled his eyes in disbelief at my meal and said “oh I’m sorry I thought you would share that” EXCUSE ME??

I don’t ever eat the entire meal, in fact I threw it in the trash when I got home I felt so shitty. I didn’t eat but a couple of bites in there because of the embarrassment he made our table feel. PLEASE DO BETTER. We’ve supported you guys for so long to have been made to feel that way. You guys closed during Covid and my family prayed you guys could get your doors back open! We truly feel let down by this! Shame shame shame.

Food was cold, owner needs to work on his commentary toward people, because it really seems like he is picking are bigger people..like suggesting that the meal I order be shared between two people.. or assuming I had a diet soda. Will never come back.

TOP TIER MEXICAN FOOD. Service was good. I’m a carne asada and flan type guy and that’s usually all I get when I go Mexican. Both were amazing.

And man… I have had the best flan in Paris. Then I tried the ones they have. This is by far the best flan I have ever and will ever taste in my life. I was shook.

I could have had the worst waitress and they would still get 5 stars.

What the… one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. We stayed at a nearby hotel on our way to visit family further south. We were really looking forward to some good Mexican food and this place fit the bill. We were sat down almost immediately but from that point forward, for 20 minutes, not a single person came to the table to ask what we wanted to drink or eat, or anything for that matter. We sat there and saw everyone else being served and us completely ignored. We have an 18 month old and for those with children of similar age, you generally know that you have a limited amount of time with them in a restaurant before they’ve had enough and it’s time to go. We exhausted all of his snacks and toys to entertain him before we had no choice but to get up and leave before we had a chance to even place an order for an appetizer…

Would not recommend. Food is very bland and had zero taste. We had the steak street tacos and flautas. I don't think this cook has very heard of spices. I am from the west coast and was looking for good Mexican food. This is definitely not the place. The service and atmosphere were okay but the food was not it.

We’ve been here three times now and each time has been a great experience. The staff is attentive and work as a team; you aren’t waiting for “your” waiter. The food is delicious and the closest to authentic I’ve had in Alabama (half my family is latino.) We’ve tried six dishes between the two of us and our only complaint has been the free chips (the salsa is good tho.) Decor and ambiance are good. It’s a really big restaurant and we’ve seen everything from couples, families and large celebrating parties. All kinds of people come here too, including Spanish-speaking laborers - so you know the food and drinks are going to hit the spot! Try it out!

Update 6/2024: Thus is still one of my favorite spots. The chicken mole is superb! The margaritas are always effective lol

We made a to go order and specifically asked that an ingredient be left off due to a food allergy. They clearly added the ingredient we asked to be left out and then hastily and carelessly scrapped it off the top after it had spread everywhere. There were remnants of the ingredient all over our food making it inedible. Unacceptable, unsafe, and incompetent.

This is a family owned restaurant. The food is good. The tamales kind of remind me of the ones I could get in Texas. (I said kind of!). If you have a food allergy, the owner is really good at recommending menu items that are safe to eat. The building is rented, so they are limited in the improvements they can make inside and out. The owners keep it clean and try to make it as festive as possible.

I am leaving 1 star for atmosphere and service. I am doing so because there was a man that seemed to be the manager walking table to table. The entire restaurant was filled with Caucasian families and my wife and I were the only African Americans in the entire restaurant. This person(presumably the manager) passed our table several times and greeted EVERY single table in the restaurant and asked “How is everything? Is everything ok tonight?” he not once stopped and asked us. I made eye contact and smiled to be sure he noticed us and he nodded and continued on past our table. We absolutely felt a way about this.

First time here. Very impressive. Authentic Mexican cuisine. So much flavor. Must try homemade guacamole salad absolutely great Mexican taste. Ordered El Cerrito special was so glad I did. The flavor was out of this world. Top shelf Margarita made from fresh squeezed real limes no pre made mix. The service was great, our server Eduardo was very nice and took care of of all our needs. Will definitely make this our new authentic Mexican restaurant to go to.

We found a toothpick in our rice and beans my almost 1 year old grandson was eating, I had to ask for my tortillas twice so I could eat my lunch, asked for no onions or peppers with my food and it came with Pico de Gallo all over it, sat for several minutes with an empty cup waiting for a refill, and we had to wait almost 30 minutes just to place our food order. I was not happy at all.

While the food was very good, the rest of our experience was not so much. The temperature inside the restaurant was well over 85°. My wife and I were sweating profusely by the end of the dinner. We asked for a high chair for our son when we were being seated and never received one. When our waiter came to receive our order, we asked again and still did not get a highchair. I finally had to go grab one myself. Our booth seats were collapsed in and very uncomfortable. The table was sticky and had not been cleaned. The good dishes will keep us coming but it will be for take out only from now on.

Food was amazing but the customer service was a bit lackluster. Myself and a couple friends I was with commented on the dismissal from our waiter a couple times. Maybe it was because there were only a few waiters throughout the entire restaurant, but still. But the drinks and food were SO delicious!! The portions are HUGE and more than enough for 1 person for a reasonable price

It wasn't great, the waitress never checked on us, it was fairly cheap, but you get what u pay for, I doubt I'll ever be back

The carnitas were so flavorful and tender. The tacos al pastor were simple but so tasty with the pineapple. The margaritas were very traditional so good. Looking forward to coming back for more.

Great food but service is hit or miss. Tonight they just didn’t seem to know we were there. I had to get someone after 10 minutes to come wait on us. She messed up our order and we ended up sharing mine and taking his home. No apology, explanation, just no real customer service when there is an issue. The five stars are for the food only.

This place was a great find. Super variety on menu. Different selection. Food was hot and fresh. Huge portions. Prices very reasonable. Great service. Friendly staff. Will be back!

This restaurant is so good, that my hubs and I go EVERY WEEK! The amazing staff is incredible and treat you like family. You will not be disappointed! Also, do yourself a favor and get the elote corn. It is DELICIOUS.

I have one thing to say.......Camarones a la Diabla and a large margarita in this friendly atmosphere is the best Mexican food I have had in this area..

Excellent food and outstanding service. Too many good dishes to choose from. Got the Tacos el Pastor this time... It was fantastic!

Not only was my chicken soup and margarita very tasty, I left my phone on the table and (I'm guessing) my server dropped it off at the front desk of my hotel next door. Thank you.

Good and drink was pretty good. I just wish the salsa was a little spicy. The food had a lot of flavor but the salsa for the chips was a little bland. The margarita was good.

Great Mexican restaurant in the Millbrook/Prattville area. Close to I-65. Great margaritas! Give them a try.
