Great Authentic Mexican food, my tamale dinner was plentiful, the tamales were perfectly filled, not the common all maise wrap..rice & beans came with,..my husband's enchilada lunch also was plentiful, nice thin tortillas more than adequately filled enchiladas W/ out being over filled, also came w/ rice & beans. Our waiter was kind/ polite, observant, kept our drinks full w/o hovering. Don't miss out on the rarity of this local restaurants customer friendly Authentic food dining experience..I am a New to the area transplant..I can't wait to go back, we highly recommend this dining experience .

Have eaten here for lunch and dinner many times. Never has there been anything less than a good or great meal. The food has always been really good, the service has always been great, and the prices are affordable and well worth it. Highly recommend Villa Del Rey!!

My first and last review of this place was two years ago. Since then I have been here several times and it has gone downhill so badly that I do not want to go back!! My last visit my margarita tasted like a popsicle and my wife’s cranberry vodka drink did not even have ice in it!! I ordered a simple chicken quesadilla like usual for lunch and nearly every time lately it comes so soggy it is almost inedible!! The service was quick but not super friendly!! We were totally turned off by this place and have no desire to go back.

Nice small Mexican restaurant that doesn't skimp on portions, or food quality. Good service and good good can be found here. They were packed full on a Sunday night, so I'm sure they're consistently busy. Carne Asada was served smoking hot, sbr the civeche was ice cold! Nachos were fantastic with all the toppings. Definitely stop in and see what they're about. They will not disappoint.

Seriously the best Mexican restaurant I've been to and I eat out to Mexican restaurants weekly. My sister tried this place first and told me how great it was so I planned my daughter's party here on a short notice! I called about 30 minutes before we got there and asked them to reserve a table for a party. We had no wait time and made it there in timeIt was amazing our waiter was on point! Never had to wait on a refill kept our glasses filled and checked on us. Food was brought out quickly and correct. The food was great! My husband had a few margaritas and they were good and at a great price when we went. even for a party of 12 he did an amazing job and me and my sister left a large tip! Made my daughter feel so special for her birthday they genuinely was excited for her being her birthday and talked with her making her feel like the only girl in the room and she ate it up. She is a sassy 8 year old now. I would recommend this place over any others that I've been to! Very nice and clean comfortable setting. They even have a special candle for the birthday girl that was like fireworks or something my daughter was thrilled to say the least everyone in the restaurant loved the candle they used for her! Thanks again for making my daughter's day so special! We will be returning very soon!!
All in all it was great and if you try it I bet you would love it too! And I'd definitely go here for another birthday! Thanks again!

By far one of the best Mexican restaurants in all of West Mobile. It gives off a bit of a TexMex vibe while offering authenticity in their foods. Their tacos are one of the best things on their menu although there isn’t a bad menu item. Their drinks are strong and their pitchers are worth it for how much they give you.

The food here was good my husband and I liked it very much. When we first walked in it looked like your typical Mexican restaurant with the same Americanized Mexican food on the menu. However, in addition to this they also have a great selection of more authentic Spanish foods.

Their empanadas, sopas and street tacos were delicious. My husband ordered the Carnitas with beans and rice and was very pleased with his dish. The pork was cooked perfectly with great flavor.

The beans were on the strange side with bits of hotdog cut up in them but everything else was good.

The service was very good hostess and waitress were very friendly and helpful.

Soft drinks and sweet tea are available with free refills.

I like this restaurant because it caters to a larger group of taste buds. People that are in the mood for some Americanized Mexican food (which all of us are in the mood for sometimes, let’s face it) and people that are looking for something a little more on the authentic side can all come here and enjoy a good time together. It’s all good!

They have friendly service and delicious food! I recommend their steak in any burrito. The lengua plate, Chile Colorado, charro beans, and salsa are all very tasty. They have the best tomatillo sauce here. The sweet tea is always good. I got fries there for the first time yesterday and they were the best fries I've ever had.

Ok so just a disclaimer we have been going to this restaurant for almost 2 years. It's been our normal spot to go get mexican food. The food has always been great and the staff were friendly and quick. However after tonight I don't think we will be back anytime soon if ever.

My gf ordered the birria tacos and a couple of bites in found a long dark hair (she is blone) in the taco. The guy who brought us our food saw it and without us saying anything he apologized and toom the food back to have it remade. Gross but hey mistakes happen and they were going to make it right we were fine with that.

Our issue came up when the "manager" (young kid didn't get his name) came up to our table. He at first seemed apologetic but then made it sound like the hair was our fault. He explained the guys in the back wear hair nets and so implied it was my gfs hair. Again she's blonde and the hair was down in the taco. We never once asked for them to take it off the bill or anything. We didn't even ask to have it remade. Our issue is being talked too like we were the problem.

So we got to go boxes, payed our bill, and tipped our waitress. Then left, didn't want to cause a scene but felt something had to be said. Again I don't think we will be back and will find a new regular spot.

Tried this hidden gem and found it superb! Had an excellent menu selection. returning husband said it was the best steak burrito he had ever had.
I had the steak quisadilla, and they were great, had to bring half home. Will definitely be returning to try more of the menu selections.

In my opinion, the best Tex-Mex restaurant in the area. The only draw back is that it is a little too small for the customer base, and due to sharing a small land-locked parking area with several other businesses then it can be difficult to find parking. If you show up during peak lunch and dinner hours then expect a wait. They do offer carry-out if that is what you are looking for.

Tried to eat here this afternoon. Totally ignored at the stand for at least five minutes. Waitress glared in our direction but no one ever spoke to us or invited us to take a seat. Only a handful of patrons in there. Guess that was enough. Will not be back.

The 5 stars is for the chicken quesadilla. It was pretty good. I hod it covered with white cheese.
4 Stars - But the margarita was lacking in the tequila department. I drank a medium. It tasted like an instant lime drink. Hardly any tequila in the drink.
I doubt I try this place again.

While the food was great the waitress we had was absolutely the worst I have ever had. After she took our order she never came back would even walk to other the table next to us but never turned around we had to get someone else to get our check.

The wait staff are super friendly and the food is the best Mexican food in Mobile. Always fresh and flavorful! The dining room may be small for most Mexican restaurants, but its worth the wait (if there is one), because they are able to get the food out faster and fresher! My wife and I have tried just about every mexican restaurant in Mobile, and this one tops them all!💯 If you dont give this place a try, its your own lose!😋

They were extremely rude and everyone had an attitude. I said thank you and the bartender said mhmm like I was unconvincing her. When my order came out, she slammed it on the counter instead of handing it to me. First of all, computer not working so cas only. Second, waitress brought husband's lunch, tamale dinner about 15 minutes before I got mine,taco salad. Doesn't make sense. Plus my taco salad was soupy. Not sure with what, but has to be the worst taco salad ever. The manager did discount the taco salad. However I doubt we will return. This place is the jam! If you like hot, delicious, Mexican food with nice portions, this is the place! Large menu with Mexican and American foods. Plenty of options including soups and salads. They have lunch options and make your own combos, too. Great tea and margaritas. Tres leches cake…. OMG! There are a few locations in Mobile but I’ve on been to the WEMO once. At the time of this writing, two lunch meals with two teas and chips was less than $30.

47.00 not worth it!!! Guacamole did not taste like guacamole, beans didn’t taste like Taqueria, or any other place I’ve ordered Refried beans. Ceviche was mostly Picco de Gallo, very little shrimp in it. My wife’s food was not good either.

Called in an order tonight and the person on our receipts name is Javi. I ordered food for my entire family, including my two children. The guy sounded new because he kept fumbling over the items I was ordering. I ordered the Flautas meal and he couldn’t tell me right off hand if I could get split between beef and chicken. Then I ordered the combination plate and he couldn’t tell me if it was 2 or 3 items. He kept telling me to hold on. My 65 year old mother went to pick up the food and brought it home. We got it home and we were missing one of the kids meals. I called up to let them know we were missing an order and he said that we must not have placed it but both my mom and my husband heard me say both kids meals. He said he could get it ready for me and in customer service terms I thought that meant no charge because his employee didn’t get our order right nor did he repeat our order at the end of the call. My mom went back to get the food and he was going to charge her for it. My mom just told him not to worry about it and left it. We have supported this restaurant since the day they were opened and I even have ordered multiple catering orders for my employees. Aztecas here we come!!

Had 3 ladies come and look at the seating book while we waited to be seated, not one seated us, didn't even dare to acknowledge that we were there, until I think they heard us discussing leaving. Service was "meh". Food was hot and bland. There must be a seasoning or spice shortage in the kitchen, barbacoa had zero flavor not even a hint of beef. ZERO... The beer was coldish. The restuarant was also hot, bathroom was slicker than owl poo...

Poor service. Had to get up and find someone to refill our drinks that had been empty for 20 minutes. Waitress ignored us when we tried to stop them to get refills then got a attitude and said she wasn't our waitress. Drinks didn't come until after appetizers. Food was not correct/missing and no one came to see If it was ok. Unacceptable service.

The food was good, no complaints with the quality of the food. Service needs work. We were seated quickly (6 of us) and the order was taken and drinks arrived. And then I think the waiter took a 30 min break. It was 25 min from the time the first plate to the last plate arrived. The waiter showed back up 5 min before the last plate did.
He blamed the kitchen staff. But then once we finished eating, it was 30min after that, he came back again. This was 2hrs after we arrived... I was way past wanting to leave...
I'm probably not going to be back soon.

This review is also for the Springhill location on Du Rhu. Service started good, quickly turned bad. Food was cold and half of it was missing and part of what did whos up was wrong. Tried to flag someone down for a while about the missing portion. Never received all of the food ordered. Good luck on getting even a single refill. The chips are hard and stale. Won't be back.

This review is for the new Springhill location on Du Rhu Drive. There isn’t a google listing for this location yet that I can find so I’m leaving my review here. I ordered the nachos parilla for takeout that was supposed to be mixed with chicken, steak, and shrimp. Not only was there no shrimp in my nachos, but most of the steak was just large pieces of gristle. After spitting out a couple bites of gristle that I thought was steak, I just lost my appetite entirely. Also, half of the employees in the restaurant were not wearing Covid protection masks when I picked up the order. I won’t be ordering from this restaurant again. If I could give zero stars I would.

So I just recently moved to the south from Chicago. We got really good authentic Mexican food but I haven't found any good good Mexican restaurants here. This was the best Mexican food I've tried but it was ok. At least the tacos had onion and cilantro like its supposed to be but no green or red salsa no avocado salsa. 😩 Sad! Really good service and servers.

Service has gone down since its opening. The food is still great. There are a few male servers who should be customers instead of wait staff.
